Friendly staff. Our only issue was the bar area. The bartender was rude, and last call was at 12 on a Sat night.

Convenient and beautiful location along tree and brownstone-lined Commerce Avenue. Lobby is well-decorated and staffed but not large. The Eliot Hotel very much adheres to old-school hospitality. I was always greeted with personal service that didn't make me feel crowded. The doorman knew me by my second day and would manage to ask me where I was headed and if I needed directions or recommendations without me feeling put upon. The building façade is old, but the hotel is anything but. The interior has been nicely renovated, and the rooms are very comfortable.

The sevice was outstanding and we received a room upgrade when we checked in.

My friends all raved about this hotel. We stayed there for a respite from a serious family emergency. Our room was very small and dark. When we opened the window it overlooked a dark alley filled with some kind of noisy equipment. Very noisy sounds from the hallway. We probably should have objected but we were so emotionally upset by our situation we did not have enough energy. Hope this review gets to the hotel....we need to come to Boston now for medical care and will never stay there again.

Flawless stay! We loved it.

Location. Room. Our room was the first one off the main lobby on the first floor, next to the elevator shaft so it was quite noisy. Further, the bathroom was filthy and there was nothing but a flimsy sheet/duvet (no comforter) for a bed cover.

We were greeted by a bellman upon entering the hotel no matter what time of day. Doors were opened for us every time we entered the hotel and they even pushed the elevator button for us. I am a very simple gal but it sure was nice to be treated like royality for a weekend. An incredible hotel at a very reasonable price in historic Boston. Upon arrival we were complementary upgraded to a suite. The rooms were very clean, the staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful. With 9 inches of snow that weekend the sidewalks were cleared immediately. A couple a blocks from Newbury and Beacon Streets, there were so many places to shop and eat. Walking distance to the "T", Boston Conservatory, Berkley, and Northeastern as well as The Fenway and Charles River. With all this around the hotel it was really quite. I never heard a siren or a horn. Willl most definitely stay here any time we return to Boston and have already refered this hotel to friends and family.

A small elegant hotel that is full of old world charm...the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and it is a short walk to the fun shops and cafes of Newbury Street. The Museum of Fine Arts is a nice walk but also an easy commute on the subway. Highly recommend it to many friends and family.

European old style elegance. Very friendly and helpful staff. Shower water pressure not strong enough.

We had a wonderful evening at the Eliot. On arrival, we were upgraded to a suite. Our rooms were comfortable, quiet, and tastefully furnished. The staff was very helpful and even made several phone calls to help us get the best price on a car we needed. The hotel is just a couple of blocks from the Charles River and in the opposite direction, a couple of blocks from Newberry Street with all its shops and restaurants. The only deficiency I noticed was the lack of a coffee pot in the room. Room service came to the rescue.

In a pinch this was a good location for a hotel close to the Hynes Center. The hotel was a little proper for me for the amount of time I spent in it and for my taste in hotels. The room was clean and nice.

The room was fabulous! The noise from the elevator. The overall hotel is very nice. The only bad thing was that our room was close to the elevator so you heard the noise from it and the view was the back alley way.

"This was areal find...been staying in Boston for years and never knew it was there.great location and old world charm, pleasant staff and very clean"

The only criticism I have of the hotel is that there was no concierge service. The front office staff was friendly but totally uniformed about restaurants, shopping, hair salons, etc., in the area.

Staff. Walls very thin. Could hear people in next room. Excellent location, excellent staff. Only drawback are some of the facilities. My bathroom was missing a shower guard, problem with TV and you heard everything from the adjoining rooms.

Aesthetically pleasing. Great amenities. Not too much room service. Options that was reasonable. Perfect location for Newbury St, Kenmare Square, etc. Quiet. Impeccable service. Dinner Room service menu needs some additions. Great rooms.

Very quiet and clean. Staff was friendly. The beds were too short for a 6 foot person.

The idea of a suite instead of one room. Tiny bathroom totally inadequate, no room for towels! Location wasgreat for my purpose. I would stay here again.
