Just what I needed - excellent hotelI was only staying over in Plymouth for the night, and this hotel did just the trick. Previously stayed in the St Rita hotel which was terrible as per it's reviews. Excellent value for money, friendly staff

Home from HomeStaying at the Dudley was a great experience, I had gone to plymouth to drop my daughter off for university and this was a sad time for me, but the staff at The Dudley hotel, made both my self and my father very welcome, and helped us with parking issues and knowledge in general of the plymouth area. The breakfast was great and set us up for the day, leaving us both full and satisfied.I would strongley recommend the Dudley to friends and family who want to experience plymouth and the surrounding areas. I for one will be going back.

Dudley HotelStaying at the Dudley hotel was a very relaxing experience; having travelled 5 hours on the train to Plymouth, I was worried the hotel would add to the already mounting stress from the trip. I got a call to check when I'd arrive from the hotel, met with the manager Lewis who is very friendly..and so is Ed who works there while at Uni.In all, you feel like you're home while there.. and I said to the guys - Lewis and Ed, if I were to have anything doing in Plymouth anytime soon or otherwise, the Dudley is my definite location of choice.

The Hotel Itself is very nice, the staff we're friendly and the food was good. The hotel has 6 double bedrooms. We stayed there as well as our friends, we both paid £60pn for the rooms. Our friends room was big, with a double bed, single bed and plenty of space to move around in and still classed as a standard double room. My room was half the size, you could only just fit a double bed in there (the room still classed as a standard double) you couldn't move round easily and the room was very hot at night. Even after we opened the window there was a train line outside which didn't make it any better. On the day of checkout I approached the staff and stated that I was unhappy that my room was half the size of the others and yet still the same price. They we unwilling to do anything for me saying that they charge 1 fee for a double room, I stated even though clearly 1 room is at least double the size of the other and the quality is much different they still wouldn't do anything for me. I will not be staying there again, my advice would be if you do stay there ask what room number your in and if they say 6 run away! All the other rooms are fine.

Hotel in good location for University, centre and train station. Lewis the manager was very friendly and welcoming. Gave lots of advice as to where to eat etc. Breakfast was great. Everything you could want in a B&B.

We were made very welcome & were very well looked after, extremely helpful couldn't do enough for us! Parking was no problem £3 a day. It is a 15 minute walk into the centre, 25 minute to the Barbican, but if you want to be closer you have to pay much more & parking is a problem & can be expensive . Good value for money.

The hotel was lovely, the welcome was particularly good after a long drive. My only suggestions are: shower needs sorting too weak, pillows! why do hotels have lousy pillows? and the menu offerred \"the works\" for breakfast but for two days I only wanted egg and mushrooms, both days I was given 1 egg on dry toast and no mushrooms, plus no other toast to fill up on afterwards.

What a lovely place to stay at. Very good value for money, good food and good accomodation. Two recommendations though - marmalade and marmite would be nice to see on the breakfast table( personal preference), and a slightly larger bed - comfortable, but limited sleeping area for two people.
