awesome place to stay. If I get the same deal/price I would go back again. I told my wife all about it and I would love to take her. She would just love it.

Beautiful, historic decor andamazingly friendly staff. My room was overlooking 6th St and was a little noisy. The Driskill provided one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Beautifully restored historic accommodations, deluxe black marble bath, on-site bakery and bar, and a staff that was cheerful and accommodating. I was visiting Austin for business but the Driskill makes me want to come back for pleasure.

My boyfriend and I chose to stay in the heart of downtown. We wanted to be within walking distance to the state capital and all of the shops. The Driskill Hotel exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the original tower over looking six street. The service was outstanding and the room was beautiful. We will defintely stay here again.

This hotel was the finest and most elegant place to stay. July 4th fireworks were just a walk away and the ambiance was superior

Great location, beautiful decor and lots of amenities. Hotel rooms and hallways are tiny. Hotel was beautifully decorated, although is a bit dark due to the intended ambiance. Hotel rooms may need some updating. Bathrooms are too dark.

What a great hotel in the heart of Austin. Could not have been more pleased with the service and staff. I look forward to my next visit in a few weeks. You will not be dissapointed.

From the whiff of leather and mahogany when you first walk into The Driskill to the final "have a good day" from the staff holding the door as you leave, your stay will be phenomenal. Every guest is treated with the same deference. Every room is designed to be the utmost comfort and luxury for its size. We stayed in one of the historical rooms (not the smallest, not the largest) and it was perfect for two people. I have stayed in 5 star hotels across the US and Canada and by far, our room at The Driskill was the most comfortable I have been in. I wish I could say the same for when we left the hotel, but 6th Street in Austin is becoming increasingly dangerous. So if you stay, know that the bums will watch who walks out and they will be right there begging for money, cigarettes, alcohol and more. We were approached by 4 bums in less than 20 minutes of leaving the hotel. Unfortunately, The Driskill was there long before the bars, 24-hour mini-marts and tattoo parlors that draw out society's underbelly, so there is not much you can do about it. What is great is that if you exit the hotel near valet, not only will they hold the door like southern gentlemen, but they will flag you a cab and stay with you until you are safely on your way. The Driskill is in downtown so it is a breeze getting where you want to go in a short amount of time. Compared to other hotels in the city, the hospitality, history and amenities are far superior. The price is about the same as the Radisson or Hyatt.

Charming, Texan-historic hotel. My room did not come with a view. Not a problem, though. With beautiful original artwork adorning the halls of The Driskill, my first stay here was memorable. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and every detail was exquisite. I would definitely stay there again.

Courteous, available staff. Ran into one of the housekeeping people on my floor, who addressed me and my wife (different last names) by names. The food was excellent and not over-priced. The rooms were very well equipped and we were spoiled in comfort. Right in the heart of sixth street, great music, awesome awesome atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

this was a first class experience for our anniversary. the room was better than i expected. i was hoping that the room would be large enough to feel like we were not in a closet and it was. the price was great for the day we selected. plan to return again next year for the same experience.

Staff was friendly. Location was historic. Food was good. Room was dark and not clean, hotel is dark, keys are not reliable, staff did not offer to make adjustments for inconvenience. This historic hotel offers a elegant experience with various dining options from exquisite fine dining to a lounge with live music. Something for all adults. Style is old world, lighting is minimal, amenities feel old and not really clean. Staff is friendly. Didn't find the hotel conducive to business work because of lack of lighting.

The staff was fantastic. Loved breakfast and lunch at the 1886 Cafe and Bakery. The location is perfect to hit all of the downtown activity and tour the capitol.

Location - clean and friendly. No parking area, we had no choice but to valet park. The price that we got from priceline was a good. I will continue to use price line it is great way to go.

The location doesn't get any better - right off of 6th Street in the heart of Austin's entertainment district. We had no problem with noise; the beds are divinely comfortable. Beautiful furnishings, but the less expensive rooms are a bit small and the toiletries a bit skimpy. Staff are very courteous and friendly. Reserve early for brunch or expect to wait - lots of people come here to eat, not just hotel guests. It's a wonderful venue if you want to get away from the bland corporate hotel chain vibe - but it's not for everybody.
