Unfortunately I had a very bad experience at this motel..... The heater and stove didn't work(shivered all night!), the room was dirty and smelly and the guy next door was slamming his door until 3:00 am.... This made for very harsh and tiring drive home to San Jose, may I add!! I will never return or recommend this motel to another and I did share my experience with the wedding party and other friends........ Karl

The close walking distinct to the beach and restaurants. The room. I will never stay at this motel again. It shouldn't have more than a 1 star rating. The deadbolt lock on the door was broken and it had to be slammed shut to lock correctly. The carpet was filthy with black spots and stains and sticky. The comforters hadn't been washed and smelled. The couch in the room was stained and dirty like the carpet. The drapes were stained and smelly as well. Our sheets and towels had holes. The Jacuzzi bathtub was not cleaned well at all and the stopper had to be healed open with a wash cloth. We stayed in room 12. All the mismatched furniture was more clutter than usable. My infant daughter had an accident on the bed linens so we had to strip the bed. When we asked for more we were snobbishly given 2 replacement sheets and no blanket. Then instead of someone coming to pick up the soiled linens, management told us to leave them in the room.

I just came back from the Dolphin Inn where I was yelled at by the man behind the desk. Not sure if he was an owner or employee, all I know is I've never been treated so rudely in my life. Long story short, I checked in early and through a language barrier was given a smaller room then I had booked. Later on I asked for a room with a bigger bed as I had booked but, was told the motel was booked. Although the vacancy sign was shining over my head. I then asked for extra blankets and pillows for a make shift bed for my children on the floor. The rude man behind the counter fought with me and did not want to give me extra blankets, then he proceeded to loose his temper when I asked for two pillows. He was standing in front of a storage closet full of linens and told me he had no pillows, when I could see a mtn of pillows behind him. I personally, run a customer service line and this guy needs to go back to customer service 101. I hope people read this and find another place to stay. I will pay double the price at another hotel before I will ever give the Dolphin Inn another dime.

Cannot believe that when we arrived, we would actually be spending over 100 for a 1 night stay. (kind of like spending 20 on a bottle of budwiser beer). Very old, with little upgrades. Room was worth maybe 50-60 dollars per night. No scenery (Driveway), no airconditioning (very small ceilling fan). There was mold on the shower ceiling and floor and the bathroom window was out of alignment. Bed was too firm. Walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbor snoring!! Adequate parking (now I know why). Cordial staff. Close to pier.

This motel was old , old furnishing, mold in shower, great part of town close to the beach. Not great for the price, would not stay there again.

Convenience. For two nights kids partied next door until 3am and staff did nothing about it. Poor decor and very inconvenient bathroom arrangement, long and narrow.

Old and shabby with terrible showers. Stained mattress was scary, but sheets very clean. Room was clean enough, but the stained mattress which I noticed in the morning was revolting.Okay to crash overnight during the week, but way overpriced on weekends

Despite the light that didn't work and the bathroom window that didn't lock, I was very pleased with my stay. This is a very small motel in a beautiful location. You can walk to the beach and the downtown area of Cayucos easily. This is one of the few last great deals in Cayucos.

Convenient location on highway and near beach. Was clean but needed a little more updating, bed linens, curtains, etc.

This motel is quite satisfactory for the price, and is within comfortable walking distance of dining and entertainment. The room itself was quite comfortable with a firm bed and good lighting. My one complaint would be the positioning of the T.V. It was at the side of the bed instead of the foot and was rather uncomfortable to watch for long. All in all, very adequate for our needs. I would stay there again.

The location convenience. Walked to beach. Walked to dinner and went to San Simeon. Great beach locationbut rooms were small.

The Dolphin Inn in Dayucos is owned by some very nice people and it is also dog-friendly for a very small extra charge. It was great to be able to take our son with us. I have already recommended the place to several friends. We are already booked again for the 4th of July week festivities.

Great location. Not much for creature comforts. A very nice place and very near the beach.

The motel was in a state of disrepair - badly in need of paint inside and out. The mattress sunk way in. There were no window coverings to speak of. No furniture to set anything on in the bedroom; however, the room was so small, there was not even room to turn around. The towel bars/toilet paper holder were hanging off or absent altogether. There was noise out front until wee hours of morning and we were concerned over our car. I would never recommend this motel to friends or family and will definitely not return.

Our room was very clean. Behind the front desk in the lobby it was not very clean. This is a good place to stay if you like to stay at a motel that was probably built in the l940's. Our room was kind of small by today's standard, but it was very clean.

The maid was friendly. It is a motel with a coat of paint. Way overpriced. This is a motel, ourroom had a Kitchenette.

Had kitchen with all necessary facilities. Stove was old and worn looking. It was just ok. I would be reluctant to stay there again.

Not worth the money. Fist night the water in the shower was cold and there was mold in the shower.

Very close to beach access. Room was not cleaned or serviced on one night of our stay. Relatively clean family run motel. Friendly, though service could be improved. Quiet and good location.
