Great AtmosphereHotel was easy to find, room was fantastic (huge) wish I had more time to spend there and make use of the room, and work my way through the menu.Staff were very helpful and cheerful.Hope to stay there again soon, and hope to stay in the same room.........

Not number one in my humble opinion.Where possible I stay in Best Western, Radisson, MacDonald type hotels but on this occasion I thought that I would give The Crescent a try as it is Number 1 on Laterooms. The hotel is in a good location however parking is an issue. There is no parking within the hotel grounds. There is limited parking on the road outside and the hotel charges £3 for a residents permit. The Biederbecke hotel about 70 yards away does not charge for the permit and has limited on site parking. If you stay at the Crescent brush up on your parallel parking and manouvering skills.I'm not sure if the receptionists were the owners or managers but the greeting given was variable. The Belvoir room was very large and bright, clean, comfortable with large wall mounted LCD tv. In a hotel rated number one you might expect a biscuit with your tea tray or bottled water but these items are not provided. The decor in the public rooms is tired. If you were looking for shabby chic then I would stay somewhere that was a bit more towards the chic side of things. Bar prices were reasonable.Breakfast on the Sunday is from 7.30am to 9.30am so no long lie in on a Sunday morning. The breakfast is quite a standard affair help yourself to juice and cereals and waitress service for cooked breakfast. The waitress was pleasant and efficient but as she was the only one serving a room full of people there was a bit of a delay. The breakfast was reasonable but not the standard that you would get in a high end hotel.In summary if you have fairly high standards and think that you are going to have a special experience by going to the number 1 rated hotel in Scarborough then it will fall short of what you might expect.

Good Seaside HotelFor a UK seaside hotel my experience was, overall, positive. Good quality accommodation, centrally located.

Good overallI enjoyed my stay at The Crescent and would stay there again. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff were accomodating and helpful. The room was nice, and was fairly well set out with good TV and other expected items. The shower was great. My only criticism would be the windows of our room were quite dirty and the paintwork could have done with a wipe down, although I probably wouldn't have noticed that if the glass had been clean, the rest of the room was fine. The food was good with a lovely range of breakfast items, my husband loved the Cask Ale in the bar. We felt it had a personal touch and we were well cared for.

lovely hotelWe only stayed for one night for easter, everything was perfect from checking in to checking out. lovely staff, lovely room and lovely breakfast, the best hotel we've stayed in in scarborough. A bit more pricey than some but worth paying the extra. The sunday carvery in Cooneys is worth trying, very nice.

Pleasent Seaside HotelEnjoyed a pleasent one night stay at this scarborough hotel. On the plus side: nice spacious clean roomOn the down side: old television that couldn't get reception, not the friendliest of staff for a seaside hotel. However, only minor gripes really as this hotel is pretty much what one might expect of a AA 3* and room size and cleanliness were certainly value for money a was the pleasent breakfast.

Chose the Hotel because it had a lift, but the lift was out of order. Our room was very spacious. For the price we paid per night it would have been nice to have some bisquits with the tea/coffee making facilities. All staff were very friendly and obliging, although the lift was not available to public use, problem with a proximity switch, they did send our luggage up in it to the floor our room was on. May consider using it again but I prefer a hotel with private parking so could not say for certain yes or no.

The hotel was convenient for both town and spa with friendly staff and excellent food. One tip - shortage of tables means that you may have to wait if you turn up to eat at a popular time ...breakfast finishes a little early at 9.30 for a weekend!

I was attending a conference in Scarborough and the Crescent wasn't on the list of suggested hotels, but listening to other delegates' comments, I think I was very fortunate to have chosen this hotel - the staff were very helpful and the food was delicious - also within walking distance of the conference centre. Will definitely chose the Crescent again if I'm in the area

Short notice availability yet competitively priced compared with the weary terraced B&Bs further out but handier for the town centre and South Bay beaches. Great breakfasts too!
