RECREATION: Nantucket is one of the worlds most captivating destinations. It is an example of everything that is wonderful about New England- full of historic and cultural attractions. In Nantucket Town guests can walk the cobblestone streets and step back in time. There are over 800 historic buildings each at least 100 years old and some date back to the late 1600s. The Whaling Museum is just one of more than a dozen preserving Nantuckets past. An array of upscale boutiques- antique shops- art galleries- pubs and fine restaurants line the streets. During the summer season- visitors can attend auctions- gallery openings- local theatre- craft fairs and concerts.Much of Nantuckets charm lies in the fact that it is an island with miles of beaches and bike paths. The gentle surf on the harbor side and the challenging waves on the ocean side provide endless opportunities for water sports. Swimming- surfing- windsurfing- sailing- whale watching- surfcasting and charter fishing are but a few of the activities visitors can enjoy. And of course there are the many secluded areas along bay or ocean shore for sunbathing- reading and quiet relaxation.

We loved it. We visit Nantucket 3 times per summer season (June - August) and this is our new favorite. The location can't be beat and the service is the same as White Elephant and Wauwinnet - top notch. It was a little foot-trafficky in evenings - but part of the experience. Because it was on an actual dock (no land beneath) you'll feel vibrations from the golf-cart services that come through (coffee, clean towels, housekeeping) which is a little odd at first. Very comfortable bed and all accompanyments (high thread count linens, high end vanity items) - just like a 5-star hotel. It's right in the heart of shopping and dining. We returned to the island a month later and stayed elsewhere and walked over to see the cottage we stayed in and there was a MASSIVE catamaran yacht parked right in front of it that surely blocked the fanastic view we had in June. That would detract from our stay as the location is on the water and who wants to view the back end of a boat through the picture window? I can't say enough good things about this place - we'll be returning in '08 for sure!
