Centrally located just a few blocks from the shops and restaurants of the downtown village, the Colonial Terrace is near several Carmel attractions including the famous white sand beach and Carmel Village. Located in the center of the area, the Colonial Terrace is central to the Monterey airport.

The 26 guestrooms at the Colonial Terrace each have views of the ocean, fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, kitchenettes, wet bars, plush terrycloth robes, fresh ground coffeemakers and daily newspaper delivery. The hotel offers connecting doors to larger suites for families as well.

Popular with couples, families, young people and adventurers, the Colonial Terrace was built in 1925 and is just steps from the sand. The hotel was recently renovated and has a quiet calmness from its residential location. A Continental breakfast of bagels, croissants, granola, fresh baked pastries, fruits and juices is served each morning in the lobby. There are many dining and shopping areas near the hotel.

What are your breakfast options?: We serve a complimentary continental breakfast every morning from 7:30am to 10:00am that consists of English muffins, bagels, toast, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and danishes. If you would prefer going out for breakfast, there are some nice little restaurants nearby like the Cottage and Katy's Place within walking distance.
What transport is available to get around?: There are taxi's and the public transit system. This is an area where a car is the best way to get around to all the places for things to see and do. All airports offer rental cars.
What can I do nearby?: As far as entertainment and attractions go, there is always the downtown Carmel area (Ocean Ave.) that has upscale shops, boutiques and restaurants. There are also the nearby Carmel shopping centers, like the Barnyard and Crossroads. If you plan on going into Monterey, which is just down the highway, there is the Del Monte Shopping Center that has some nice shops, restaurants as well as a movie theater. There is also Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf, Laguna Seca, Carmel Mission, Asilomar Beach, Pebble Beach (golfing), and Big Sur just south of us to name a few.
