I called and told them I would be late.I was delivering to 17 different Home Depots and Lowes and was running behind. No problem. When I got there I asked if I could have a room that i could run an extention cord out to my tractor trailer's block heater so it would start in the morning. No problem. As it turned out, there was a block of outside outlets. It was 10 below the next morning.Room was warm and comfortable.Truck started right up.I was a happy trucker. This motel is obviously an older motel. If you're looking for the Ritz, this isn't it.Looking for an affordable, clean room with wi-fi,this is a good spot.didn't get a chance to try the pool or restaurant but I am planning on staying there again the next time I need to layover in Ellsworth.

Great location! Small bathroom. Great location for in town and surrounding areas.

Large room, helpful front desk, walking distance to restaurants and good price (I paid $$ for a dbl) are some of the reasons I would come back. Even though the reviews are predominately negative I reserved a room here because AAA gave this motel one diamond. One diamond mean that this is an OK motel - which it is. The rooms in the annex at the back of the motel are quite but lack wifi. When I found this out I asked for a room change and got a better room with out a hitch. My second room was in the main building, where the rooms are larger. Each room has a coffee maker (with coffee) but no fridge or microwave. The rooms were clean, BUT, the carpets in both rooms need some serious cleaning; they were grungy. I found the evening counter staff to be more than willing to please. Right next door is a fair Steak House and a so-so Thai Restaurant - best to look around. I would stay here again, I found it to be good value for this overpriced area, BUT, I would reserve a room in the main building, away from the pool and on the far side from the noisy/busy road. Ask for room 121. Recommended.

During a recent trip to Maine for family funeral, we had to stay an extra couple of days and thought this hotel would be a good place to do so. Unfortunetly we were sadly disappointed. The rates were good, however the room and the facilities were not. Our non smoking room was located right next to the rear door of the building and directly in line with the outdoor smoking disposal area, the smokiing employees and guests used that site and all thier smoke came directly into the air conditioner and then into our room, yuck folks, thanks for sharing. The place is old and needing updating in more than just the decor,. The beds were like bricks, and the shower was iffy at best as to whether you were going to get scalded or frozen. Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh nothing like taking a nice hot...................no wait, icey shower first thing in the morning. The rampant saturday night party animals were tons of fun too as there was no sound proofing of any sort and 1" gaps under the door.We do not give this place a good rating and will never stay there again.

The hotel was awful and I would encourage anyone considering to stay there to avoid this place at all costs. The room was extremely dirty when we arrived and had a foul smell, which lingered for several days in spite of efforts to use Febreze and other deodorants. The staff did not clean the room other than making the beds (no vacuuming, etc.) each day and did not leave any soap, shampoo, etc. when cleaning the room. The pillows were misshapen and obviously very old, as were the sheets which were yellow. The bathroom had mildew in the shower and the toilet only periodically worked. The furniture in the hotel room included 2 musty chairs, a wobbly table (not able to be fixed) and a dresser with a couple of broken drawers. The water in the pool and jacuzzi did not look as if it had been filtered for several days and the general facility was dirty and in poor repair. The hotel was located in an area of town with little light, few operating businesses and several closed establishments. We DID NOT feel safe in the area -- either day or night -- particularly on the first floor since the rooms had sliding doors that opened to the outside and were easy to break into. The quality of the hotel staff varied widely -- a couple of the front-desk staff were competent and helpful, but the majority were rude, lazy and unhelpful. The cleaning staff spent the entire day smoking in the back of the hotel, next to the air conditioner unit for my room, which contributed to the odor problem.

The pool was unfit to use. There was no gambling facilities on site. The continental breakfast consisted of doughnuts, coffee, tea, milk and something that looked like orange juice. They also had a book in the room of things to do, resturants etc. We found a resturant, in the book that we wanted to go to. When we inquired on how to get there..we were informed that it has been closed for awhile. GUESS THEY SHOULD UPDATE THEIR INFORMATION! There were two lamps in the room that we could not turn on......no outlets. We could not put our clothes in the closet, due to the layout, the end table was in the way. If you plan on seeing Bar Harbor and Acadia Park, this is not in a good location. The road to take to get back to the hotel is backed up for miles.

The pool was not heated as wel as I thought it would be, neither was the hot tub. The wallpaper was peeling, there was a smell (don't know of what, but the service was decent

the Hotel is close to Acadia, hiking, biking trails, The Cat, a variety of places to shop and many places to dine a nice stop over when heading further down east
