I experienced a horrible check-in experience. Allegedly the hotel did NOT receive a reservation from you (or so they claimed), despite my providing them a copy of the confirmation you sent me. Had they said immediately that they had available rooms, the check-in process would not have taken over 30 minutes. Coupled with limited hot water in the room (once we finally got a room), an "inoperative" (their words) fitness center, a lengthy check-out process (only one person at the check-out counter), and exorbitant parking fees, I guarantee you that I will never again stay at the Churchill Hotel.

This is a beautiful restored historic hotel on Connecticut Avenue, across the street from the Connecticut Avenue Hilton and a short walk from Dupont Circle (and Metro), Adam Morgan area and embassy area. Our room was recently renovated - absolutely beautiful and very spacious. Bathroom was small but nicely finished. Bed linens were high quality, although bath linens were only OK. Toiletries were high quality. Personnel were efficient and helpful. There is a nice business center with free Internet service on main floor. Wireless is available throughout but with a daily fee. I will definitely consider staying here again!

I had to change first room due to drain problem actually. I thought it is Ok because the building is old enough. (But still has good mood and keeping clean) The secound room had too much space for one person. And only $99- was unbelievable in that location.

I selected this hotel based on reasonable cost and great proximity to Dupont Circle activities and the Metro, all just a short walk down the hill. The hotel has been recently renovated and is clean, quiet and friendly. Rooms are small but very adequate and include a small fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer and a new LCD TV. No pool but didn't need it anyhow. If price is a consideration, I would recommend this over the more expensive Hilton across the street.

I found my inability to cancel my reservation as directed on VENERE'S website to be extremely frustrating. The hotel finally asisted me and I stayed the one night I could, cancelling the 2nd. Desk clerk Alec was very kind, competent, thoughtful, and did all he could to help me, but they, too, could not cancel my reservation with VENERE. That alone is was a bad start for me. My stay was spoiled by the fact I had NO HOT WATER. A cold shower puts your hotel at the bottom of my list, and the desk clerk did nothing about it: no one came to my room to check on the cold water, and no one offered me any consolation, let alone any price reduction.

The metro stop was to far from hotel for carry luggage, taxi ride was 12.00 in May it may be cheaper as they are going to a different taxi pricing rate I have never had a hotel room with such a small bathroom it was 5X6 YOU COULD NOT SIT ON THE TOILET WITH OUT THE PAPER STICKING TO YOUR LEG. THE CABNET HAD BEEN PAINTED, AFTER IT HAD BEEN STAINED., THE PAINTER DID NOT OPEN THE DOORS TO FINISH THE JOB. I CALLED THE FRONT DESK TO ASK ABOUT THE CLOSEST CATHOLIC CHURCH, AND WAS MADE TO CALL BACK 3 TIMES BEFORE SOMEONE NEW THEANSWER, THEN THEY WANTD TO SENT ME 2 MILES OUT OF THE WAY. I FOUND O NE CLOSER JUST BY LOOKING I THE PHONE BOOK. They had also forgot to put all of the curtain in my room, I had to asksthem to put them in. small room big bed. flat tv

The staff was genuinely nice and helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable. I believe the dessert delivered from room service caused us food poisoning and I believe the valet broke our steering wheel. But this is my opinion and can not be proved.

The hotel was under total reconstruction. There was noise and dust everywhere. The room was very spacious and good view of the area. The a/c didn’t work well and after the engineer came to check it out three times he said that was the best that it was going to get. The room had been reno-d and smelled like wall paper paste(fishy smell), all except of the tub and shower still the old tile and missing grout. But over all the hotel staff were pleasant and the stay was good.

We were led to believe the room would be huge. Instead, it was very generic room with little space to move around the bed - this was a big disappointment as this was the reason we had chosen this hotel. The food in the restaurant was great as was the location - just across from the Hilton where the sightseeing bus left from. The fitness centre is closed for renovation buit you could purchase a pass to a fitness cetnre down the road.

This hotel is very old but has character galore. The bathroom was dated but the huge and very comfortable room made you forget about any shortcomings. Luckily, we did not have a car as the expensive parking ($30 per night) would have put a damper on our stay. We loved it and will return!

We enjoyed our stay. The location of this hotel created a different experience than our latest trip when our hotel was on Capital Hill. Really enjoyed walking the neighborhood and all the restaurants.
