The Churchill Hotel London [edit info]
30 Portman Square
London, United Kingdom
Description:The hotel overlooks Portman Square in the heart of London's Westend. It is close to Marble Arch and Bond Street underground stations, and the famous Oxford Street for shopping. The large rooms are all elegantly decorated and every detail has been accounted for, the Churchill style is unique, with a subtle blend of tradition, with the very finest of modern facilities. Both the rooms and the marble bathrooms are in exceptional condition. The hotel has two restaurants which are elegantly furnished with a light wood floor and wall panelling and striped fabrics. We stayed here for a splurge; what a luxury! The room service was the best food I had ever eaten in a hotel, and no matter what we ordered -- on or off the menu -- it arrived almost instantly. Service was gracious without being fawned over. Accidentally placed in a smoking room, we were rushed out to an UPGRADED non-smoking room with profuse apologies and a free fruit and champagne tray arriving 10 minutes after we were settled. If I could afford it, I would stay here on every visit to London."

The Hyatt is easy to get to and as you would expect has very good food and service. It is an expensive hotel but is very well located. My only real criticism is that breakfast at £25 is bordering on ridiculous - it's only the same breakfast as you'd get anywhere else.

Exceptional hotel. Spaceous rooms, incredible service, delicious food. This property sports the best Regency Club that I have ever visited. The Churchill cigar bar was a fine addition to the property and the server was very helpful.50% of the hotel is undergoing a complete renovation, but they have done a perfect job hiding that fact. I didn't realize it until I was told.
