Description:
The Chelsea ushers in a new era of Atlantic City chic, re-imagining the fabled heyday of "America's Playground" for the savvy modern traveler. The first non-gaming boutique hotel to grace the Boardwalk since the 1960s, the Chelsea captures imaginations by conjuring the long-lost glamour and sophistication of this seaside resort town as a magical retreat where leisure and luxury come together in a perfect blend of great service, true comfort, and alluring spaces. Intimate and exciting, the Chelsea exudes that rare sense of ease in a place that, at every turn, affords its guests the choice of pampered privacy, casual mingling and people watching, or an energized social scene. In its 20 stories, the Chelsea offers cosy fireplace lounges, happening bars, and poolside cabanas. Destinations within this destination include two signature restaurants, a saltwater inspired spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a pristine beach with the only full beach service in Atlantic City, providing luxurious towels, lounge chairs, and umbrellas. The Chelsea's myriad common areas encourage socializing in an array of gathering spots to match any mood. Throughout the hotel, every detail is highlighted by a design and spirit that recall the classic era of Atlantic City's mythic past. From the dark wood panelling, colourful furniture, and dramatic fireplace of the main lobby to the intimacy of the Game Room to the pulsating vibe and cocktail culture of the Terrace Lounge, the Chelsea's design is evocative and comfortable at the same time.

First and last time. Rooms look much nicer on website than in reality. Bathroom smelled like a urinal and room looked run down with broken electrical outlets. Didn't have any security measures when I returned late at night. Elevators had pealing wallpaper and paint. Although the hotel had plenty of availability, they refused to give a small upgrade and wanted an additional $50. Wouldn't stay in this place again.

Customer reviews here and elsewhere are mostly of Luxe Tower of The Chelsea. Annex of the chelsea is very different from Luxe Tower of the chelsea. I'd like the potential guest of the chelsea to know what it is like staying in the room in Annex. According to the chelsea's own description: "Adjacent to The Chelsea and above Teplitkzy's, Stephen Starr's diner inspired restaurant, "The Annex" offers retro-motel style accommodations - updated with fresh new beds and sumptuous white bedding." The rooms in Annex are literally those with new beds in a motel. Anyway, you can use the facilities in Luxe Tower. However, the room in Annex is so bad, I wasn't able to think of nothing else. The small quaint bathroom, unblocked street noise, door slapping noises and vibrations, ugly furniture. Annex rooms are never shown in the pictures in the web pages. Unless you stay in Luxe Tower, don't be tricked into believing that you are going to enjoy a nice room.

King size bed was very comfortable. Room was very clean. Staff was very friendly and eager to assist. Location was excellent as it is right on the boardwalk next to Tropicana Hotel and Casino. Excellent room and location for the price.

I stayed at the Chelsea for two nights. The property is much improved from the past. The valet / bell hop were friendly and personable, and the check-in process was easy and fluid. The staff were very friendly and dedicated to ensuring we knew about all of the new amenities. The room was clean and well refurbished. The entertainment floor (Fifth) has a nice set up with a pool table, many games, and a club on the weekends. Two minus - No water pressure in the shower & the previous guest left food in the refrigerator that was not tended to by housekeeping. The price for the room was very reasonable at less than half of the price of the casino rooms...

pictures on orbitz were very misleading. Not sure if you are aware but I could have stayed at a casino (Tropicana, Ceasers)in what they consider a standard room which is equivalent to your tower room which I believe it was you advertise on Orbitz for half of the price of what you charged me. As I visit Atlantic City quite often, I am familiar with the different hotels and casinos. I gave your hotel the chance as it was advertised as new and from the pictures it looked great. As I said very misleading. The casinos offer a bigger room with more comfortable beds than your standard room. The tower room was nice. However, I would never consider staying in one of the standard rooms again for the price that you charge. To me, this was equivalent to a room that I would get at a Motel 6 or Super 8 which I believe should be priced at around $45.00 per night for your standard room. Also, the walkways leading from the boardwalk to your hotel was dark and creepy. The staff was helpful, polite and courteous but I was not at all satisfied with the price of the hotel for what it was.

Very stylish, comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms. No vending machines and the restaurants close early. I would stay in this hotel again. The hotel only offers valet parking and it's either $5 or $10 with in/out capability. We were greeted by everyone as soon as we arrived. Our room was upgraded to the Luxe tower free of charge. The only thing I did not like was that there was no vending machine in the hotel for beverages. The mini bar prices for an 8oz soda was about $4.50/each. There was no ice machine on the 14th floor. I was told to go to the 12th floor. I saw other people in the lobby asking for the ice machine, it was a little unclear where they were in the hotel. I would go back, the rooms are beautiful, the beds are so comfy, the bathroom was so nice with a glass shower and marble sink/vanity.

This hotel is very nice, on ONE SIDE. They do no tell you that there is no internet in the room they give you, there is no ice machine, there is no beverage machines, the bathroom is awful, the sink does not drain, there is barely any hot water, there is no shower pressure, you have to tip to get anything that should be available at no expense, it is $10 a day to park. It's all glitz and advertising, ONLY on one side of the hotel. The lamp did not work, the TX worked every other day, there was not mini fridge as advertised, in general STAY SOMEPLACE ELSE!!!!!

I arrived early and was told by the Front Desk they would call me cell when it was available. I was told there would be a $20 cover to use the 5th flr pool. My guest arrived shortly after me, was told me room was ready, I never received a call & they wouldn't call me while my guest was at the desk because "he wasn't me" despite having my contact info. He was also informed the 5th Floor pool was FREE, which it turns out it was free. I had to contact the hotel myself regarding my room, I had to remind them they had luggage checked for us. The room was dirty, someone had wiped their nose on the wall, and we were charged $50 to upgrade. The upgraded room was very nice. We forgot our toothpaste & contacted the front desk for a dental kit that was missing from the minibar ($8). They informed us housekeeping wld bring one up. 30 minutes and no show. We called again and were told the same info. No show again. I called a 3rd time (7:30am the next day since we fell asleep waiting) and were told if our room didn't have one they were out; but I could wait till 9am and their store MIGHT have one or I could walk a block to a store and buy one myself. The valet brought me the wrong vehicle to top off the stay, which then took 20 minutes to find my correct car.

Great hotel if you want to step away from the gambling and smoke. There's no casino in the hotel, but you're just a few steps away from the Tropicana. I brought my 1 year old baby boy with me and I couldn't believe how accomodating they were. I called ahead of time and told them I was bringing a baby and they had a crib set up in my room, not just a pack and play playpen, but an actual crib! He was quite comfortable running around the spacious lobby area and 5th floor. If you want to unwind, check out their spacious lounge area on the 5th floor. It's filled with gorgeous decor and a great game room. The hotel staff were especially friendly each and every time we stepped in or out of the hotel. It was very convenient to walk onto the boardwalk by the beach. It took half a minute to walk onto the boardwalk. The ocean views from our room were gorgeous and unobstructed. Last but not least, they had Kiehl's toiletries in the bathrooms! I will definitely return to this stylish, friendly hotel again.

The hotel was beautiful though it was a little different than what I am used to. The parking is valet only but is cheaper than most of the other hotels. I'm don't need may bags carried ot my car parked so it was a little weird for me. It was the first hotel I ever stayed in with a mini bar and I was a little shocked at the prices They also charged my credit card for incidentals that they credit back after checkout that i wan't aware of till I arrived. Because of the mini bar there wasn't really much usable refirgerator space. I would have liked to see longer pool hours. The pools closed at 7pm. The freshwater pool had great bar alongside it and I would have been nice to have toe pool open until 10 or 11 pm. The Beds were beautiful and very comfortable. The rooms were spacious and clean. There are some small things about the operations I would change about the operation of the hotel but I very muche enjoyed my stay and would STRONGLY consider staying again. All the staff I had contact with during my stay were very friendly down to the cleaning staff passing in the hall.

The decor was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The room was much better than I expected. Priceline had the hotel listed as a three star hotel but I think it should have a higher rating.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and loved it. The room had a flat screen tv and was very clean. They have a complimentary newspaper. We really did not "hang out" in the 5th floor but it looked very nice. It had a pool table. The staff was very friendly and polite. We did not eat in the hotel because it was expensive for us. This Hotel is right next to the Tropicana and right on the boarwalk. I would recommend eating in "Cuba Libre". Their food is delicious and Mon-Fri from 5-7PM you can get $4 mojitos at the bar. The classic mojitos were amazing. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and had to go back for lunch the next day. The roasted pork is out of this world. The best Cuban sandwich I ever had in my life! (and we have been to Miami, FL).

the staff is very proffessional and they have answers for any question you ask. the location is perfect for anything you desire to do, the outlet stores are close enough to walk too and casinoes also, the ocean is right there with service on the beach, chairs, towels, anything you need, i recomend this hotel to my family and friend with or without children, we enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to coming back.

Very clean and contemporary and wonderful staff. We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff could not have been more accommodating to our needs and requests. The rooms were so clean. We stayed on the nine floor with a beautiful view of the ocean. It was very quiet, yet seemed to have the liveliness of vegas! We will stay there again.

I stayed at the chelsea in Oct '08. I booked this stay through online travel website. Got it at an amazing price. I enjoyed my stay tremendously. Right around the way from the Tropicana. I had one dislike about my stay. On my first night there, at about 7 p.m. housekeeping walked directly into my room without even KNOCKING! You heard me right. not even a slight tap on the door. I was LIVID! I could not believe it. She said housekeeping. do you need anything. I was actually stunned! After a moment of slience, I finally got up enough nerve to say noooooo. She said sorry, thank you. other than that slight uncomfortable mishap, the chelsea is beautiful and soooooo clean... I didn't bother calling up to complain. She was probably new. So management please inform your housekeeping staff to please knock and wait for the guest to decide if they want to open the door.

Arrived and were able to check in an hour early. We went to the beach where we were provided excellent beach service (lounge chairs, towels, umbrella). We took a jitney to the outlets, which are great! Had a restfull night in the comfortable bed. Ate in the restaurant which was good...but the most talked about item on the menu (blintzes) had been discontinued (dissapointing!)

The bed was great but the bathroom was old, bad shower, no fan, pink color and to top it off, the tv did not work even after the tv guy changed it twice. I would not stay here for longer then one day.
