Beautiful historic home only two blocks from all of the shops and restaurants in downtown Jefferson, Texas. The Carriage House is within walking distance of the Historic Walking District. We serve a multi-course gourmet breakfast on weekends and a continental breakfast on weekdays. We offer seven beautifully appointed and decorated rooms. All of our rooms have a private bathroom and most rooms have a separate private entrance.

Jefferson is home to many fine eateries from five star gourmet restaurants to down home cooking. Whatever you have a craving for, Jefferson will have it.

What are your breakfast options?: Breakfast starts at 9:00 am each morning. On Weekdays we serve a continental breakfast and on Weekends we offer a 2 or 3 course gourmet breakfast.
What can I do nearby?: We have several boat tours here in Jefferson. One of the most popular is the Graceful Ghost Steamboat tour on Caddo Lake. Caddo Lake is really more of a swamp than a lake. It is filled with wonderful birds such as egrets, herons, bald eagles, and wild ducks. Caddo Lake also has a healthy population which our guest always enjoy seeing (from a distance.) The Graceful Ghost is an old wood fired paddle wheel steamboat that gives daily tours.

We have a narrow gauge steam locomotive that gives tours year round as well. During the Halloween season, the train converts over to a "Train of Horror" and takes our visitors through a haunted forest. During Christmas, the train takes the visitors through as many as 25 different Christmas scenes while a narrator tells a story. The rest of the season, our guests enjoy a 5 mile trip down the banks of the bayou during the day and a ghost train at night.

Our old Historic Riverfront District has been converted to some wonderful shops, restaurants, and museums. Many of our guest spend days just wandering through all of the boutiques and trying out our different eateries.

We have some of the most interesting museums here in Jefferson. Our largest is a collection of artifacts from East Texas and the Caddo Lake area with a special exhibit of the Caddo Indians which used to populate this area. We also have the Gone with the Wind museum which holds the largest collection of Gone with the Wind memorabilia in the world. We have an Antique Car museum which is favorite of all of the car buffs that come into town. Our newest museum is the Museum of Time and Measurement which is a collection of clocks, time pieces, surveying equipment and old land maps.
