After I walked past the hotel twice ... no sign at street level to advertise the hotel, I found it! The lobby is breathtaking. This obviously old building has taken very well to its renovation. It is stunning. The front desk was very friendly and professional. My room was lovely, (kudos to the interior designer), a peaceful, tastefully designed sanctuary, and exceptionally clean and sparkling (a must in my book). It was so quiet, I was amazed. I would definitely return and recommend the hotel. A drawback to some may be the location, but I liked it because it was removed from the hectic crowded streets, but certainly within easy walking distance of Penn Station, Empire State Building, shopping, etc. etc. etc.

My daughter and I went to NYC for a family event and we shared a room. We got a great price from travel website! The hotel was clean and elegant and the staff was very nice. I did however get rattled when I received a bill for room service. Breakfast for 2 was $70. The food was delicious, but not worth that much money. On the whole we enjoyed our stay and it was in a great location for sight seeing! I would stay there again in a heart beat.

I really enjoyed the hotel from the moment we arrived we were happy with the lobby, the attention to detail in the rooms (great atmosphere with crown molding & feature head board wall). Very nice bar & restaurant. Excellent location with subway around the corner and Dunkin donuts for coffee at the corner. This hotel was priced extremely reasonable via travelocity and I would recommend it to all my friends. Another couple upgraded to the larger King suite but were were fine with the standard room, I would rather spend my money in NYC versus the little square footage. The quality of the rooms were the same in comparison.

The hotel was very nice in the middle of manhattan. You can walk everywhere (Empire State Building, Central Park, etc.) and the employees were very friendly as well. Unfortunately, there is no free breakfast included, and the hotel does not have a pool, but I guess that's normal for New York City hotels.

The quality of the hotel well exceeded the price. The hotel provides excellent customer service, is in a great location for easy access to mid-town or downtown and has a highly touted restaurant to boot!

We were completely satisfied with our stay at the Carlton. We received a free room upgrade when we checked in and the room was spacious and luxurious, too. The staff were polite, friendly, and very helpful when we had questions or requests. The hotel itself is beautiful -1920's Art Deco- and in a convenient mid-Manhattan location. We will definitely stay here again!

When we first arrived, we were not given the room we had reserved, but as soon as we informed the staff, they were helpful enough to change our room and we think we got a better deal because we ended up with a room with a living room, one bed, one sofa bed and spacious. The location of the hotel is excellent because you're equally distanced to most of the cities' attractions. The hotel is near the two subway stations. Would definitely stay there again.

Our purpose in NYC was to site see. We walked to 34th street and went shopping at Macy"s. We walked to the Empire State building, took the train to Battery Park and saw a Broadway Play. This hotel is at a great location, the train station is near, the restaurants and shops are also very close. The hotel rooms are very comfortable, there was a 42 inch flat screen TV, the beds were comfortable, the pillows, the room was very modern and clean. I would definetly return!!

The hotel was in an excellent location and the staff was exceptionally friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. The hotel offered up their car service to take us to the airport versus calling us a taxi. This was only $10 more than we would have paid for a taxi and a much more pleasant ride.

We were unsure of what to expect for what me and my wife paid. It turned out to be a great value with the quality of service as the conditions of the hotel. Room was spacious and clean. The hotel is located near a subway station but not too close. Finally, the staff was extremely helpful and did not make you feel a need to tip for grabbing the door or hailing a taxi. Overall great hotel and location is in the heart of Manhatten. Kudos to the Carlton, may not be the Ritz but was good nonetheless.

This one was a once in a life time trip. My son wanted to go to new york for his high school graduation trip. I felt bad because of the location of the hotel and then trying to get around cost so much he really did get to do a whole lot because of the prices. Should have looked into the trip a little more before taking it

After our vacation was over, I was very glad that we booked here at the Carlton! It is very clean, near to a lot of sites, safe and liveable. The only thing I would warn about is the possiblilty of what size bed you may get - we stayed for 7 nights and didn't even get a queen size bed. My wife said it was a full size. It was definitely quite cramped - maybe that was why the price was quite reasonable. I don't travel a lot, lot but don't you usually at least get a queen size bed when you say you have 2 adults? Anyways....

We were in NYC for a medical visit for my brother in law. The hotel was in a great location for us and the rooms and staff were great.

Very beautiful, great location and newly renovated. Heat didn't work, call the front desk 2 times and didn't get an answer, took long time for valet to get car. Overall, it is a great place. For the price it was good, but not outstanding. Cold, rainy weekend and the heat didn't work, but nice room although it is very small.

The 2bedroom was suprisingly large. Wonderful bathroom. I stayed with 3 girlfriends for a "ladies" wknd and the hotel was perfect! Even the beds were very comfortable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
