Very Nice Hotel. The hotel is huge and kept very clean. I have stayed here several times and each time the room has been spectacular. The rooms even have their own ipod dock and flat screen televisions. The hotel is a cheap cab ride from the downtown area and Panthers' stadium.

The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are very modern. The bathroom is to small and the hallways of each floor are hot. The location is great and the staff is very friendly. In the negative side, the A/C's are turned off during summer in the hallways, there is no room service and the bathroom is to small.

The interior of the hotel looks just like the pictures-pretty nice. But once you stay for more than a day or two, you notice odd things. The hotel was remodeled several years ago, but it looks like it was remodeled just enough to get by. Old patched bathtubs and ancient thermostats detract from the updated sink and bedroom. Elevators are original and slooow. Several of my traveling companions has issues with temperature control which is noted several times in other reviews. My toilet leaked constantly which I also noticed was a recurrent problem in other reviews. Very dim lighting in the bathroom-imagine showering by candlelight. The hotel bar is cramped with low ceilings; it should be named the cave rather than the vault. Overall decor is dark-I couldn't wait to get out in the sunshine! If you get a great rate as I believe I did, the hotel is middle of the road. If I had paid full rate and expected a 4 star hotel, I would have been upset. The hotel provides a shuttle van and both drivers we met were wonderful; they went out of their way to assist us in any way. Thanks * and *! The hotel is on the fringe of uptown; not terribly close to all of the restaurants but still walkable is needed.

The lobby is nice but it is deceiving. The walk from the parking deck is not pleasant, it is an OLD building with lots of pink carpet. You get to the lobby finally and can hardly find the 2 elevators, or the stairs. With 10+ floors you need more than 2 elevators, especially when there is a HUGE conference there occupting most of the floors. When you get off the elevator on your floor there are no way-finding signs to tell you which way your room is so you have to walk around with all your belongings to find your room. The stairs are not labeled. There are also about 8 other doors on each floor that aren't labeled, most of which are storage rooms or janitors closets and not locked. The other stair in the building has no first floor access, which it also does not tell you anywhere . Good luck getting out of this building if there is a fire!! The rooms are okay with modern large striped carpet and wallcovering (which is peeling). The colors make you feel like you are in the 70's. The bed is not comfortable. Then you go into the bathroom and they decided to leave the 1970's laminate countertops and sinks. The tile on the floor and walls are old, white, and stained and the bathtubs do not seem clean. Also, the shower curtain looks like it was drug through the mud and was cut unevenly at the bottom like it was recycled from somewhere. I felt the need to wear shower shoes. I didn't have a problem with noise outside my room but a co-worker did, she was on the elevator lobby. Was glad to get out of there and get home!

I will never visit this hotel again!! Upon arrival I was not greeted by anyone, the employees seemed to ignore the fact that I stood there waiting to check in. The front desk clerk then took 15 minutes to find my reservation (which was booked prior to arrival) and did not acknowledge me at all. I attempted to order room service and no one ever answered at the front desk after calling 9 times!! No one informed me about the cost of parking (uptown hotel)"phase 2" hotel rooms"...outdated with a hint of updated furniture. Do not waste your money!!!

Front desk staff/shuttle. Rooms location to center city. Bathrooms tiny. Room decor was undesirable. No pool. Beds small not enough pillows. Front desk staff very friendly. No complimentary coffee.

Clean room, comfy bed, helpful staff, good restaurant. Six blocks or so from Charlotte Convention Center, a nice walk or they have a free shuttle. Good deal

I read all the reviews on this website for the hotel and we still ended up booking it due to the location - thought we would take our chances! I am SO GLAD that we did. This place was an absolute steal at 115/night. We had a king room on the top floor of the hotel. The room was gigantic! There was a flat screen TV, wireless access, a BALCONY, the vanity area was separate from the toilet & shower but there was an additional vanity in the closed bathroom area as well. The housekeeping was extremely prompt, there was an on-site town car that we used instead of a cab but it was the same price. Parking was only 10/night in the attached garage and the new Train was walking distance from the hotel - 3 different stops! I would/will recommend this place to anyone that is going to visit Charlotte.

This hotel is the old Adams Mark and it is just a used up old building.....some fancy furinture and a coat of paint can't change anything. Half the hotel still has the old Adams Mark carpet and decorations....The Pool was closed on a 90 degree day. The bar was pitiful.....The bartender was very nice. The showers have some sort of attempt at a euro nu-wave look with a half glass shower curtain that allows most of the water to soak the floor. And some kind of basin sink that splatters water all over you. The rooms are tiny and cramped.....the hallways were not air conditioned.....The staff refused to validate a friends parking pass for stopping by for 10 minutes. I would not stay here again if it was free.

Well, I booked a superior room, paid a little more than a regular room. When I got to the room and turned on the light in the bathroom the metal shelf/towel bar fell of the wall...boy what a loud noise, they did come and spent about an hour to fix it. Later that evening we went to dinner and came back just after midnight parked in the parking garage by the hotel door on the 2nd level, 10am the next morning found my car broken into and shattered the glass on the passanger door and took a GPS that I had taken off the window and put under the seat. Someone had to have been watching me. There were no other cars broken into and you could not see the GPS because it was under the seat. The hotel has signs all over the place that they were not responsible for articles left in the car, I can understand that. What I can't understand is that they charge $10 per night for guest and they don't have a security camera...if someone had been raped there would be no security video. I will not ever stay at this hotel again because they are not concerned about their guest safety. I spoke to the front desk and they were not concerned and did not even want to talk to me about it. The least they could have waived the $20 parking fees. I was traveling with two other women and I feel that this hotel is not safe.

The exterior of this hotel is decieving. When you get to your room it is small and there are no amenities. no room service. The bathroom looks like what you'd find in a motel. The room was very cramped, no indoor pool. When we went to dinner ther were only 4 menus and there were only 4 selections on it. We paid what I concider a high price for a supposedly 3-star hotel, but I thought that since it was downtown it would be very nice. They even charged to use their internet service. I have had free internet access in motels. What does this place think they are doing? There should be charges pressed toward this place. I had my daughter- in- law ask what the room rates were for the night we were there. They told her 119.00. So why did they charge 224 on the internet??????

Central location and where my Scrabble tournament was held. Alittle worn, but there are signs dotted around saying they are remodeling. Centrally located, safe (in the neighborhood of other large hotels), polite and friendly staff.

This is the first time I've ever posted a review about anything. This hotel presents itself as an updated modern hotel and it definitely isnt. We took ice colde showers because the hotel didnt have hot water for 2 days of our stay, we had to ride on the service elevator to our rooms and I'd never been more terrified...it was horrible. Lastly the parking garage elevator did not work, so we used the stairwell and it reeked and food was thrown all over the ground...I really felt the need to share this experience and there will probably be many more from the CIAA weekend's guest.

The pictures of the hotel are deceiving. The rooms look modern with contemporary beds, desks, etc., but there are some major deficiencies. Neither of the telephones worked in either my room or my colleague's room, and the hotel staff took us from room to room just to find 2 rooms with functioning phones--this took at least 30 minutes. Some rooms that had functioning phones had plumbing problems and/or heating/cooling problems. When I checked out they gave me a receipt with my colleagues credit card number on it instead of my own (which I discovered after we left) and her credit card shows a charge for 108 even though we prepaid for the rooms through Travel agency. In reviews I have just now seen on another site, there are pictures of water leaking from lighting fixtures, a bed bug found in one of the rooms, etc. The staff were not particularly accommodating considering how terrible our experience was. If we hadn't prepaid, we would have left to find another hotel.

The decor was funky and interesting. Staff was polite and helpful. No door on the bathroom! Half-door on the shower. Elevators were slow. Overall, we enjoyed the Blake Hotel very much. The staff was polite and helpful, and the shuttle to downtown was convenient. The decorations were different but cool. Unfortunately, the hotel's fixation on decor overshadowed functionality. In the name of coolness, the bathroom had no door. Luckily, my partner and I are comfortable with each other, so this was just a little awkward; if we did not know each other better, it would have been an extremely unpleasant situation. Also, the shower only had half a glass door; combined with the lack of main door, this made for a very cold shower. We had a room with one king bed; maybe there is a door in the rooms with two beds. I hope so, because other than that, we enjoyed our stay very much.

This hotel definitely met my expectations. It was clean, and well-kept. The service was extraordinary, and each and every staff member was polite, pleasant and quick to assist. Several suggestions for improvement - upon check in, guests should be notified that the indoor route from the parking garage to the room elevators is quite long and circuitous. I joked with a fellow guest that I should've caught the shuttle bus! Had I known at check-in, I would have dumped my luggage in the room before parking my car. Pillows were hard as rock. However, once I complained, replacement pillows were immediately delivered to my room. Restaurant staff was amazingly friendly. However, the menu is severely limited.

Hotel was clean and overall in good order, good location as well but park across the street on weekends and avoid the 8 per day lot charge. Bathrooms are clean but need to be updated to fit the rest of the room. Hallways also need to be updated. Service was good and view of city was great. I would reccommend this hotel for the value.
