A Great Experience! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent as evidenced by the capacity crowd in the restaurant (Friday evening). The only (small) gripe my wife had was that there was no hairdryer which is unusual for a hotel claiming to be 4 star. However we would stay there again if we were in the area and would definitely recommend it.

Absolutely fantastic, didn't want to go home!Lovely hotel, would love to go back! Staff are very friendly, pleasant and helpful. It's close enough to the A34 to make it a doddle to find but is in a very quiet, secluded area. It's about a mile and a half down the road from the Park & Ride for Oxford, which saves scrabbling for a space. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a fantastic walk-in shower. It was kept really clean, no complaints there. It was a pity there was no hairdryer but I'm sure they could've provided one if I'd asked. It was also so, so nice to have 'proper' tea and coffee, with a teapot, cafetiere, and fresh milk provided from the kitchen - brilliant little bonus. We had dinner both nights of our stay, and were delighted both times with the quality and presentation. It was a little bit more pricey than we normally pay for restaurants (£12 - £14 average for a main course) but was real value for money, given how tasty it all was. The restaurants were fairly busy each night - enough to give it a bit of a buzz but not to make it seem crowded. We had the continental breakfast, which had toast, pastries, and a selection of fresh fruit, plus we were offered yoghurt and cereal on top of that. The full English was £5 more, looked huge and delicious but we didn't try it, since we had more than enough to eat just with the regular breakfast.Overall, lovely little place to stay, hopefully we will get a chance to go back soon.

Wonderful welcome in gorgeous 'new' Oxfordshire boutique pubs with rooms...Booked THE BELL for 2 nights/2 couples as visiting old friends approx.15 miles away and via one night at The CARNARVON ARMS Hampshire/Berks border (Art trip )We arrived early @2pm and were given great welcome and shown to our upgraded rooms (charged booking rate). These were both great one Superior(upgrade fr.Standard) in converted Bell Cottage (adjoining pub)with large hallway ,pretty bedroom with cute picture window overlooking apple tree and huge showerroom with monsoon walkin/pretty views from front over open country. One small problem is guests are likely to bump their heads on pitchroof of this room!Other was Luxury(poss.upgrade fr.Superior) in main building/rear huge room/bed/shower!)My brother in law + partner verymuch enjoyed their stay in these luxurious surroundings. There was some noise from access road/carpark tho'/no hairdryers(when asked for given fairly quickly) extras incl. beautiful flowers(orchids) in room.Breakfast was 'top' lovely platters fresh fruit (grapes, cherries, melons, strawb's)fresh baked croissants/breads + cerealsdrinks selection.Husband/brother had huge English cooked b'fast @ add. £5.00 (poss.too BIG!)Comp.newspapers offered on Sunday. All staff were really welcoming, giving great personable service with warmth and humour! We were all treated with 'individual' consideration thru'out and ate @ The Bull on arrival (gorgeous pizza baked in unique/feature oven visible from corridor)@ lunchtime on chrome chairs @ front of pub (lovely quiet setting /even on road). Also ate dinner on both nights..given flexible times to suit, food was delicious( bit expensive!)Finally 'Big thankyou' to new manager Megan who was especially ammenable with dynamic young team creating stylish yet relaxed atmosphere for all...x

The Bell at Hampton Poyle -Excellent, exceeds all expectationsCustomer Service was personal, attentive, informative, but never intrusive. Jude is a star! The room, bed, and ensuite were as exceptional as the rest of the hotel with so many quality details, even down to ground coffee & cafetiere and choice of teas in room rather than the usual instant coffee sachets found in the 4 star spa hotel we stayed at the following day. Every item on the plate at breakfast tasted superb with strong fresh coffee - idyllic. We arrived the previous evening having already dined and wished we hadn't! Took our drinks outside to enjoy the balmy evening, listening to birdsong and enjoying the faint breeze. Lovely comfy chairs inside. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough and will certainly return.

Fantastic placeI booked a room for me and my boyfriend and we were so impressed with this place. It is in a beautiful setting, the rooms were done out lovely with lots of character - ours had a gorgeous roll top bath. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and were happy to help with any query. We booked to have an evening meal and the food was really good and its served in a nice relaxed setting. Breakfast in the morning was equally impressive and we could chose pretty much whatever we wanted - all the food was really well presented . Would definitely recommend a visit.

Amazing, Amazing, AmazingIf you are going to Oxford you have to stay here. It's approximately 10 minutes in the car from the centre but worth every minute. I have been to Oxford a number of times and I am so glad I gave this place a try. Its not a chain, it's privately owned and if only the rest of the UK Hotel trade took a leaf out of their book!! Its priced perefectly, we paid £65 which included breakfast. The breakfast was to die for. The bathroom was immaculate, with the big rolltop bath, inglenook fireplace in the bedroom, beautiful top quality bed linen. We didnt stay for dinner but wish we had. When we checked out we went back to Oxford, by the time lunch came, we decided to travel back to the Bell for lunch, amazing! We will be going back!!

The Bell Hampton Poyle - a satisfied travellerThe Bell had been open 6 weeks after a massive refurbishment when I stayed. It was excellent. The Staff were helpful, quickly knowing me and calling me by names. The rooms are everything that their website says - modern, comfortable, great towels, nice toileteries and great bed and beding, freeview television chanels and wifi in the room. I had a room with a wet room fitted with a monsoon shower. Although it is a busy pub the bedroom I had was quite.I ate in the restaurant in the evening. The food was excellent, particulary my wild sea trout on a bed of jersey royal crush and samphire with a beure blanc sauce. The wine list is not extensive but appears to be carefully chosen and good value for money.I would definitely stay there again. It would be a good place to stay if you are going into Oxford - you are only a few minutes drive from the Water Eaton Park and Ride - so you could leave your car there and get the bus into the centre and aviold the difficulty (and expense) of parking in central Oxford.

Wonderful Getaway at the BellThis new hotel sets a high standard on every score. The rooms are tranquil, exceptionally well-appointed, and spacious. The management and staff are considerate, knowledgable, and fun. The menu is creative, the waiters excellent. The Bell's ideal location in a charming hamlet of Hampton Poyle is close to Oxford and Blenheim Palace.
