The Aruban is a very old hotel which they are renovating. The rooms are very old, but quite spacious. The furnishings are very old, so the cushions and rugs are not very appealing to sit/walk on. (Also the entire unit is tiled and gets very slippery.) However, the value of this hotel is excellent. There is a short walk to the beach that goes through the lobby of La Cabana, though you do have to cross a significant road. The only way to avoid crossing the road to get to the beach is to stay at a high rise hotel. There is a concierge at the hotel, though the only on site facilities/activities were the pools, fitness center, and beach. The pool area is very nice with a lot of shade. The hotel is far from the high rise section, and you should rent a car. They say to take the bus, but we did that for a few days and waited 20+ minutes in each direction. There are only a couple restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. However if you go up to the high-rise section there is a huge area to walk around with shopping and a larger selection of restaurants.

Aruban Resort & Casino is a great place to stay. Our suite was very clean and had more than enough room for us four. Hotel staff were very friendly and help full.No language barriers is always aplus for me.With two nice pools and a DD/Baskin Robbins in the courtyard what more can one ask for. Eagle Beach is beautiful is a short walk. There is alot of activities to do in Aruba , take time to do some. Most pick you up at hotel. We used taxi from airport to hotel then public transportation any other time. Car rental are availiable at Resort.Don't book activities ahead of time wait until you get there you'll find staff very helpful. We are planning to return to A ONE HAPPY ISLAND soon.

My stay at the Aruban Resort and Casino was ok. Everything closed very early. There were no real activites at the resort. The poolside bar closed very early and after 9:00pm the resort looked like a ghost town. There was no night life except for the casino. After losing too much money with no return, fun at the casino became quite boring. Aruba is a very expensive place to visit. However, it was a very peacful and safe location. The manager, Rafael Wever, was wonderful! He truly went out of his way to make our stay as memorable as possible and we appreciate his efforts. City of Brotherly Love

The Aruban resort has a lot of potential, however some improvements to the rooms would make a big difference. During this vacation we stayed in 2 different rooms, both of which had a mildew/musty smell. Also the King beds in the rooms had terrible mattresses (it probably would have felt the same to sleep on the tile floor). Other than these 2 issues, the hotel had very friendly staff and the pool area was fun. Check in was very easy and our room was ready very early on both occasions. Unfortunately, I wouldn't want to stay here again unless they get new mattresses for the beds and somehow eliminate the musty smell from the rooms.

Our stay at The Aruban Casino and Resort was very enjoyable. We were so impressed with the new updates to the rooms and the resort that we are thinking of buying a time share with them. The weather has always been very good there. We have seen no more than 6-8 minutes of rain in the 12-14 years we have been going there. We will be back at the resort nest year for a 10-14 day vacation.

The room we had was dirty. It was an OK room; however, I would have expected it to be clean.

For the price we paid I expected more. The Aruban Resort and Casino is back a couple blocks' walk through La Cabana Resort to the beach which for us was the major drawback. We are not pool people. Our main goal is to spend as much time near the waves and sand as possible. Once we got there, the beach was wonderful and not at all crowded despite the fact that it was Easter Week! Having said that, the pool was very nice. We especially liked the water slide which was very exciting for little ones and adults alike. The room itself was spotless and COLD. It had everything we needed (except coffee filters and salt and pepper). The signs asked guests to keep the door open and the air conditioning which even on the warmest setting kept the room awfully cold. We had to turn the AC off at night or freeze to death. Finally, the staff were very nice and EXTREMELY helpful. And, contrary to what we had read, the timeshare sales people were never agressive or difficult.

I thought I would save some money..but you get what you pay for. Aruba is great but this resort isn't. Spend a few more dollars and go elsewhere

The Aruban, and now that it is no longer La Cabana, the new management is not taking care of the rooms. They seem dirty. Also, I requested a crib when I confirmed the room on 3/25, I requested a crib when I checked in, I requested a crib before we went to dinner, and when we returned from dinner we had a high chair, hmmm. So I called again and asked for the management, finally around 9pm we got a crib.

The Aruban Resort & Casino was a great place to stay. The location was ideal. We had 2 children and they liked it. The resorts rooms are being updated. Our room was fine, alittle outdated, but clean. Quite location. We talked to the new owners, very friendly. Staff was very nice. Beach was a 5 minute walk. Great beach. There is a water park being built next door. We would stay again, not a huge resort.

It was nice, but I wish they had a fitness center and also the casino was very small. But the staff was great and the beach was wonderful

Stayed their for 2 days and had a nice time. Rooms were big and the grounds are well kept. They were working on the pool area that had a great looking water slide. Staff were friendly and the place was nice for the price. Would stay there again.

We just got back from our wedding in Aruba we had everyone stay at La Cabana it was okay. There is the villas and then the resort they are owned by different peolpe. So if you need or want to call one it will be a long distance call plus you cannot use the amenties at both. But they do try and keep it clean even though it needs updating. It took us an hour to check in plus they will put a hold on your card for $250 and it will not come off until 10 after you check out plus all of the other misc. charges. The beds were not comfortable only give you one really thin pillow per person. They do have a kitchen just not everything you need though to cook with or do dishes. The pool at the resort was nice and big but that was at the resort not the villas were you will be staying. I didn't think it was worth the money. But, everything in Aruba is high priced. We got married at the Divi Phoenix which wasn't really any better.

We stayed only one night before the timeshare we were renting for the week was ready. The beach and pool are great. It was confusing checking in since there are 2 different parts to La Cabana and we stood in line at the wrong one before knowing it. Staff were all very friendly and helpful though. The room was very clean and comfortable. We ate only one meal there at the open air restaurant near the pool and it was good for the sandwiches and salad we had for lunch. Overall, it was a good place, a little pricy for one night though but it was Spring break for us and the week before Easter there, which is a major Holiday.

room was great but it was ground floor next to pool and a band played loud music from 6:30-10:00 PM. tough to sleep, rest and unable to listen to TV. I would prefer another location at this hotel or go to a different hotel.

My best-friend and I went to La Cabana for Thanksgiving weekend. The rooms were out-dated but very comfortable, you really get what you pay for. We had a full kitchen, one-bedroom with 2 beds and a living room, and balcony. Trust me you really dont spend any time in your rooms. The hotel is very family friendly and there are little kids running around the pool all day. If you want some peace just go to the gorgeous beach right across the street. The downtown area (where everything is) is a quick bus or taxi ride away. And one great thing about this hotel is that there is always a happy hour going on in one of the pools. I am definitly going back.
