We have been staying at this resort for over 12 years and just love it here. They are in the procss of renovating the resort and once complete it will be the best on the Island. The Eagle Beach is the nicest beach on the island. Beautiful turquoise waters and calm for swimming and snokeling. Great place for a very restful vacation.

I recently came back from Aruba where I stayed at the Aruban Resort & Casino. Overall my experience was okay. My main complaint would be the constant hounding about timeshares for this hotel ( each time you went out, at the casino & even on the streets near the high rise hotels - you couldn't escape them ). The casino was very small, there are not many close choices to grab some food nearby and the towel service by the pool was a joke. The hotel itself was reasonably clean and the price paid overall was a good value for the money. One last word of advice if you do go to Aruba know the cab fares beforehand since they're government regulated but that didn't always seem to be the case depending on the driver so beware.

If your looking for peace and tranquility, I guess any resort on the island will do. But if you're looking for luxurious accomodations, this may not be the place for you. The resort IS however under total renovation, but until you see more modern pictures on their website I suggest you take it for what its worth, a moderately priced resort with an 80's decor, minimal activities on site, and constant harassment to purchase a time share. The people however are very receptive to sitting down and engaging in conversation. As for the resort itself, the pool and pool bar are wonderful. The resort is situated just a short walk from Eagle beach which has the most amazing sunset you'll ever see. Also the adjourning resort has a much more lively atmospere, so you might want to hang out there for more excitement.

From what I can see this resort was sweet maybe 15-20 years ago and now although it is well maintained it is in need of some updates. The rooms are large and clean sans a little late eighties-early 90's motif. You can walk right across to La Cabana and use their pool which is much more active than The Aruban's. For the most part it was a great home base as we found any of the hotels we visited never gave you a hard time about being at their place. We rented a scooter and were mobil so we went all over the place. If you want to go to the other side you should at least have a car as the road is dirt.

Where do I begin...Room was dirty and smelly, timeshare people harrassing you everywhere, bartendar was rude and not friendly at all, did not feel welcome... Never said thank you for staying or how was your trip at check out... Rooms were so outdated, floors were dirty, 2 computers for internet use, walk through other hotel was a pain to get to beach, free shuttle to casino was never there, casino was small and always empty, never knew where restuarant and casino were until 3rd day because check in people never told you anything, had to go back 3 times for my back door key, local people using the pool, timeshare lady was rude and cut my husband in line, free drink and music parties always had timeshare people harrassing you there too, hotel is too interested in timeshare owners and not there hotel guests, they have these great plans for the hotel but need to start with staff customer relations... spend the extra money and stay at a nicer place it will be worth it and not that much more expensive...

although the pools are great. thats where it stopped. there were no towels available at the towel booth, the attendant didnt mind, she was busy on the cel phone and doing her nails. the only resteraunt is the blue marlin, where we had breakfast 1 day. the buffet line was 20 inches from peoples tables(no room to move), nor had sneeze guards.not to worry because you didnt have to go to the service line due to the fact the trays were left empty most of the time. other guests were fondeling the bread and returning it to the line. the omellete line had 3 people ahead of me and still took over 15 min to get my turn. by the way the casino appers to be about 400 squre feet. when we asked to speak to managment about the issues they refused, they were to busy harrassing guests about buying timeshares. employees did not appear to be happy about there jobs. we will never return to this establishment.

What a joke, spend the extra $$$ on a better hotel, you will be happier and will get much better service. Where do I begin.... I expected the rooms to be old and outdated, but they were dirty and smelled musty. The staff at the resort need a lot of customer relations training. I never received a thank you for coming, how was your stay, or have a good trip home during my check out. Nothing!!! It took us three trips back to the front desk after check in until we finally got our back door key. The bartendar at the pool bar, was so rude, I would say thank you and he would just walk away. The best part is they want us to buy a time share at the resort saying they are going to make all of these changes, well they better start with the staff. Towels were old, beach towels were old and fraying. My husband was cut in line at Dunkin Donuts by one of the rude time share ladies that stand in front of the hotel. It is so unattractive to the hotel having all these ladies standing there hastling you everyday. Whenever we wanted to take the "free ride" to the casino the guy was no where to be found. Casino was very small. I didn't even know where the casino and restuarant was until 3 days into our stay. Two computers for the internet is ridiculous for the size of the hotel. The nights when you have the band and party for the guests, once again you are harassed by time share ladies. I know one thing that I will never buy a time share from the Aruban, and other hotels/staff made a face everytime we said we were staying there.
