The hotel was very nice but for the price you pay a night, not worth it. So many additional little charges we were not aware of. Like wireless internet is an extra cost. Also no coffee in the room, and all coffee places are about a 10 minute walk away. Parking is a large cost, $51 dollars American a day. The room is very small, and in the bathroom there was no bathtub just a shower. We were on our honeymoon and doing a 2 week road trip through USA. So we stayed in a lot of hotels, Chicago being our last stop. Honestly we had some better experiences in super 8 hotels we stayed in. Staff was not overly friendly either. The hotel was however in a great location of the city, central to everything.

Bathroom was small but perfect for one person at a time.

Location was everything, bed from the room was excellent, stuff was nice and helpful ( barman recommended "Backroom" on North Rush as a nice place for jazz music and we enjoyed it very much ), room size was very good, bathroom was very large and very nice. There was some noise from the street ( even at 20th floor ) when emergency cars were running during the night.

Charging for valet parking, charge for wireless internet. no vending machines anywhere. The stay was nice, the rooms and atmosphere of the general hotel was luxurious. But I had no idea they were going to charge $50 for valet parking and that was the only way to stay there and park and since I am a real estate agent, I had to have email and wireless was $10 charge per day! Not happy about that, and nowhere did it say anything about valet parking charge, or the wireless charge. Then we ate breakfast at the restaurant/lounge and we understood the buffet cost 14.95 a person, when we received the bill, since the waiter spoke very poor English, we had been billed 18.95 a person. But we couldn't understand him, and I repeated 14.95 when we ordered and he said yes. So another expense we didn't count on. Since it is on the main drag, all night long, all you heard was sirens. Did not sleep well that night. My wife woke up with a horrible stomach ache at 3:30 in the morning and I called the front desk to see where the vending machines were, and there were none they also did not have any antacids at the front desk and he said that you can go down the street, there is a 24 hr store. I am not walking down the street in the middle of downtown Chicago at 3 am in the morning!

The Allerton Hotel Chicago is an excellent choice for it's prime location, daily rate, and convenience. This was a return visit for me to the Allerton within the past year. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

Great location to shopping, food, and public transportation. Would stay here again. Only problem was small elevators and no free wi-fi in rooms, but was available in the lobby.

Nice clean rooms. Good service. Expensive parking ($51 overnight valet). Relatively small rooms.

The IPod player in the room is a nice touch, but it's a pity there is no tea or coffee maker.

Excellent location and convenient to everything! I was in a newly renovated room and it was very nice. This historic hotel has been totally renovated and very attractive.

Couldn't be a better location. You can walk up and down, left and right from Michigen Ave and almost all places of interest are within the walking distance range. Staff very polite and helpful. I would absolutely stay there again.

i had a wonderful stay at the allerton. the only bad thing was parking is $51 per night. be prepared to find a garage in walking distance. other than that the hotel was great. we got an upgrade free of charge so that was very nice. the location is as close to perfect as a hotel can get. i will stay there again. it was clean, but a little small. the size was not a big deal....everthing else made up for it. i would say check it out!!!!

Amazing room and accommodations. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking through the hotel was extremely expensive. This hotel completely exceeded the expectations I had, especially for the price I was paying. The staff was very friendly and willing to assist. Check-in was very easy as was check-out.

the room I stayed in was small and the beds weren't as big as I'd hoped for. Other than that the hotel delivered on all my other expectations

Great location in the center of shopping on Michigan Ave. Very close to red line Metro station to get just about anywhere else. Hotel room was beautiful, much more than we expected. There was a sitting area and extra TV. We were able to relax with our friends after going out. Only downside was the parking...outrageous! It was $51 a day with the valet (before tipping) and $48 a day without. Knowing that I would research parking in the downtown area and find a better place to park before going.

Our room was small but that was our choice. The room was clean, compact, freshly furnished and finished. It was our first time in Chicago and we had attempted to book at another hotel which we visited while there. We are happy we picked the Allerton and would go back there when in Chicago. Its a great hotel.

Me and my partner didn't stay much at the hotel, we were out enjoying Chicago. The rooms were small but quaint, perfect location in the middle of the magnificent mile. Located 1 block from the red line so public transportation was easy. This hotel has a modern facelift with lime green accents, black, and red. The rooms were comfy. The view from our room on the 6th was a little dissapointing but...like I said...we were in Chicago to see Chicago and not the inside of our hotel room. One note....the elevators are tiny so the lines pile up...but they move quick.

Very nice room, comfortable bed, nice shower. Toilet was very loud when flushed.
