The location at Tenaya Lodge was perfect. The sorrounding area was just amazing and i would not hesitate to go back, it was truly an enjoyable experience.

Only 1 mile from the Yosemite entrance. Restaurant was expensive and the food average. Excellent location, very clean rooms.

A very comfortable hotel with good food, service, and decor. Internet is a bit pricy at $9.00, should be free for the cost of the rooms. Location near Yosemite was perfect, staff were friendly and helpful. Nice pool, recreation/fitness areas. Only complaint was they shut down the sandwich/snack area for 1/2 the day, making getting a mid-day latte or snack impossible.

This was our first trip with an 8 month old - it was a great hotel for first getaway. Rooms very clean, having the kitchenette was awesome and the rooms were quiet. We couldn't hear our neighbors & we worried they'd hear our baby. But nothing. Views of the Merced River from our balcony was a real treat when relaxing in the AM. Location was perfect - about 30 minutes from the Valley floor. The only bad aspect of the hotel room was the bed - it was really uncomfortable, too soft for my liking & the pillows were hards as rocks. Overall - we're planning to make this an annual trip for us. The staff were very personable and the location was great!

Close location to Yosemite south entrance, spacious room. Alittle bit pricey for the hotel room size and quality.

You can read in my last review that I thoroughly loved this hotel! Not much had changed since our last trip. This time we noticed after booking that we were booked in a cottage room but didn't think much about it. Upon checking in we were informed that our room was not in the lodge but in a set of newly acquired duplex cottages. After looking at them (they weren't bad but we were there for the convenience of the lodge) we went to the front desk and explained that we had come back solely b/c of the hotel (we have lots of other places we'd love to travel to) the front desk quickly changed our room and not only moved us to the lodge but also gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite with was WONDERFUL! This stay was just as great as the last! One additional thing, we found a game room in the basement of the west wing with several pool tables, air hockey tables and arcade style games. This gives the kids additional things to do if the weather is bad or mom just needs time to pack!

Had a hesitation about paying a little more for a hotel but once we pulled up all doubts flew out the window. Start with the valet, concierge and quick check in. Rooms are a just a little larger than average but make up for it by being plush. Beds & sitting area are plush and comfortable. Bathroom is nice sized with seperate "dressing area" and wonderful soaps and lotions. You get a coffee maker plus small refrigerator, desk, several phones, tv and elect. game for kids (at addl cost). The decor is wonderful! Pool was nice with a spa and fitness room that we didn't use. Gift shop is great for things left home. We ate at Jack-a-Lope's one night and took our drinks to the lobby & enjoyed in front of the fireplace while kids read books (they also provide games for the children to enjoy). The location was wonderful, only a few minutes to town to shopping and restaurants and a couple of minutes the other way into the beautiful Yosemite National Park. Our only iffy thought was the total hands on service. The Guest Service desk will make all reservations for you, give you maps, info and opinions on local area. I know that is what most people want on vacation but it's not something I'm accustomed to and hard to swallow for a control freak...but this is optional. The whole family can't wait to go back. My daughter who has traveled frequently said upon walking in the room, "this is a nice hotel." If nothing else that made it worth it. Oh yeah, in season they have an outdoor ice skating rink that is nothing less than awesome!!

Beautiful rooms and hotel, staff was helpful. Awful, overpriced restaurant. Overall the hotel was great. Beautiful, clean rooms and friendly staff. However, the restaurant was awful, overpriced and understaffed. Because of the restaurant we would not stay here again. We had to travel the 20 minutes to Oakhurst to eat, then back up the mountain to Yosemite - it was simply too much hassle. I would rather stay in a less nice hotel and be able to get a good meal before heading up to Yosemite than wasting all the time we did.

I just returned from four days at the Tenaya Lodge, and I highly recommend it. I felt compelled to write this review because before I arrived at Tenaya Lodge, I read several recent reviews on this site, and they were not highly complimentary to say the least. I found the staff to be tremendously helpful, courteous, and friendly. The food at the Jackalope was great, as was the complimentary breakfast each morning in the dining room. Our eggs were made to order, and we selected other items like bacon, hash browns etc, from the buffet. The fruit was fresh and delicious. People writing reviews on this site had complained about noise in the hotel. We had a room on the top floor, and we heard no noise at all. Yes, there were children with some families, but they served as a nice addition to the inviting atmosphere in the hotel. Our room was very comfortable, exceptionally clean, and it had a lovely view of the surrounding trees. All of our requests were met with an enthusiastic "No problem..." For example, an entree contained mushrooms which I am not able to eat. I asked if it could be prepared without mushrooms, and the reply was " Yes sir, no problem at all". By the way, out food server xxx, was attentive, polite and made us feel at home from the moment we were seated. The same can be said for xxx, who was our server on one occasion. From the time we were greeted upon our arrival by xxx at the front desk, to the time our bags were loaded into our car for the trip home by a nice young man named xxx, we were treated like royalty. I can't say enough good things about this excellent hotel!

Beautifully set in the picturesque Sierra Nevada. Offered beautiful views of snow-covered peaks. Walls seemed a bit thin. Noisy guests could be heard in the halls at all hours. The Tenaya exceeded my expectations for location and setting. It is close enough to offer quick access Yosemite National Park, but far enough to avoid the crush of tourists. The same can be said about its proximity to the town of Oakhurst. Again convenient access, but far enough away to seem remote. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The room comfortable, but nothing spectacular. It was however a comfortable place to unwind following a day spend touring one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

First, the flight to Fresno was fine but the drive from Fresno's airport to Tenaya Lodge was a long drive especially when its dark. Those roads are narrow and curvy. When we got to the hotel there were bellboys that greeted us and was willing and ready to take our baggage for us. The check-in was a breeze, We were escorted to the room and was given the tour of the hotel facilites and the room amenities. We went to Tenaya Lodge for a wedding and was happy we went. Me and my Husband love to travel but we have never been to Yosemite National Park before. We enjoyed our meals by the fired at Jackalopes. The food and service there was great. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends that are planning to go visit Yosemite.

We really loved this hotel and the location, the pool was great and the trip into the park was beautiful. The only complaint that we had was service in the restaurants. It was very clear that wait staff were serving the bar area as well as the upscale restaurant at the same time. Service was slow at best. The food was good, but we felt for the level of hotel, more staff was in order.

The staff was very helpful. The walls were very thin. The hotel was over priced for what you got. This hotel is more hype than wonderful. Paying quite a bit for a hotel room you expect to have quiet and peace, not screaming children and rooms shaking with each person running in the hall. The setting was nice, but not worth the price. The staff was really helpful and nice.

Calvin, the bartender was friendly and helpful. Most of the people maning the visitor information desk did not have knowledge about the area. Beautiful hotel. Lobby and bar area very fitting to the area. Staff very freindly and responsive to any needs. Restaurant menu very limited. Difficult to navigate around at first but no problem once we figured it out.

The location was great. The room was run down, the hotel restaurant was terrible. The room we stayed in was not as nice as the rest of the hotel. We had a room which allowed for pets, and even though we paid extra for this convenience, we feel we were penalized because the rest of the rooms had been nicely upgraded, while ours was not. It was just very average and run down. Also the hotel restaurant, Jack lopes, was really terrible. On two different visits, we had to return food two times. They also mixed our orders up, bringing us the wrong food. Overall it was a disappointing experience.

"Our room was nice, average size with a comfortable easy chair but the two resturants were not consistant. Reservations were not correct, our main coases were very average but the apitizers were quite good. Our waitress in the nicer resturant was vey good but in the bar and grill our waiter and staff were slow and awkward."

"Though the drive to Yosemite Valley is 30 or so miles, it is a very scenic drive. The food is a little expensive, but acceptable. The rooms and main lodge were excellent. Avoid the ice skating though, not worth the money. Book and enjoy your visit."

Excellent staff & indoor & outdoor pools, sauna, etc. Unable to get Cell phone service. Great ambiance in lobby with huge fireplace. Huge indooor pool, outdoor pool, massage & facials available. Two restaurants and a deli. Lovely location and very close to Yosemite South entrance.
