Mother and daughter breakHaving read other reviews before going I was led to believe that the food was not up to much! Being an ex hotelier however, I thought that the hotel would have also read the reviews and put things right so I gave the Restaurant a go. All I can say is I wish I hadn't. A meal that took thirty minutes to arrive was very overcooked and inedible. After complaining to the Restaurant Manager she took it away and I was surprised to find a replacement on my table within minutes!!! Again of the same poor standard. My daughter had the children menu which to be fair was good but we both decided to skip deserts!

Very modern and well appointed hotel. With the exception of a mini-bar, the rooms have everything needed. Very friendly staff. My only negative comment would relate to the bar charge of £8.25 for a glass (not bottle) of mediocre South African Pinotage.

Short Stay at Telford Spa HotelWe stayed at the Hotel in late June , unfortunatley for us it coincided with one of the hottestdays of the year . You can imagine our disappointment when we realised there was no Air Conditioning in our room. The room was compact to say the least , with a window that onlyopened slightly . We asked at reception if any of the rooms were Air Conditioned , apparentlyabout 5 of them are !!!! After a "multi million pound" refurb I would have thought someone would have thought about putting air con in the rooms .. it is supposed to be a 4 star hotel.4 Star hotels have air conditioning ...

Review of stay at The Telford Golf & Spa Hotel The Hotel is situated in a lovely location on the edge of a golf course which is part of the hotel complex. Reception staff were very helpful and courteous and hotel was clean, modern with a nice swimming pool, gym and spa facilities. On the down side was the fact that the hotel appears to be primarily aimed at and caters for corporate courses and meetings or golfing breaks so I would not recommend it for anyone who just wants a nice quiet break away from the hustle and bustle. The biggest disappointment has to be the quality of the evening meal at the hotel. The variety of the bar menu was extremley poor and not value for money. The restaurant menu was also unappealing and again not value for money. The evening meal we had in the bar was very expensive and of a very poor standard. We should have spotted the signs when we saw the majority of people ordering a plate of sandwiches and chips, which appeared to be the most popular choice. We only ate at the hotel once and going out for food locally proved to be a far better option. Were it not for the fact that the self service breakfast buffet was very good I would have scored the quality of the food far lower. The double rooms were quite small and very warm and for a four star hotel of this price I would also have expected air conditioning in the room as opposed to a fan.

Rooms had everything expected from a hotel of this calibre, breakfast was excellent.The Spa was disappointing. The jacuzzi had been replaced by heated loungers. The ice shower was not working properly and the pool was out of use due to incorrect chlorine levels.The steam room had not got up to humidity or temp but I enjoyed the Sauna. There was no water machine.

Great stop off for golfers....Nice hotel - clean and comfortable - absolutely no complaints about the accomodation. Dinner menu and food was a bit basic, but OK - not a problem. Breakfast was a good buffet - loads of choice and all pretty fresh. The top aspect of this hotel is that the golf course is attached to the hotel, with the driving range literally a stones throw from Reception. Tokens available behind the Reception desk - £3.50 for 80 balls.

Enjoyed a two night break here ,clean comfortable room with excellent shower.Rural view from the window was a nice surprise after the endless ring road and characterless feel of Telford on the way to the hotel. Excellent buffet breakfast in pleasant dining room, set us up for the day in the lovely market town of Shrewsbury only about 15 miles away .

Room was very nice as was the spa facilities, dinner was nice but very expensive, sure you could have eaten out for the same and probably cheaper, not too organised at reception, apart from that very nice hotel.

VERY DISAPPOINTINGThe room was very disappointing, the bathroom was a very small shower room. There were ants crawling on the floor in there. The shower cubicle had mould growing from the grouting which could be easily cleaned if anyone could bother to do it correctly. There was a huge cobweb dangling from the curtain pelmet which had been there so long it had dust on it. I felt very cramped in there. The only good thing was the bed which was very comfortable. The food was over priced and not the best quality. My wife is less than 8 Stones and her starter was so small it could fit on a teaspoon and that is no exaggeration, only eat in the restaurant if you have a very small appetite. The only good serving of food was breakfast where you could help yourself. My advice is stuff yourself stupid at breakfast so that you wont be left hungry after your evening meal.

Hotel accommodation and facilities are very good, it's a great pity that the quality of the bar food is so poor and the service delivering it does not match up. We would stay again but will eat out.

Enjoyable experienceVery good facilities, we enjoyed very much the SPA and all facilities.We did not have a bath in the room, which would have been good for a family.The restaurant was good, only negative point was one of the dishes (Spanish paella), which was not good at all and I passed my comment and asked to rename it to \"Risotto with tomato and vegetables\" as it did have the various ingredients but they were cooked in the absolutely incorrect way, with no taste at all. I suggested to take it off the menu or improve the way the chef will prepare this recipe.For the rest, everythig was excellent.

Very good value...the only thing which let it down was the long wait for our evening meal.This is the 2nd time we have stayed in a Q Hotel during the last 3 months and both times we have been very satisfied with the room and the facilities. From the start the reception staff were friendly and efficient, the room was spotless and we were very happy with the 15 metre long swimming pool and auxillary facilities (and so was our 8 year old daughter).There was an abundance of choice at breakfast time and the staff made us feel very welcome...in particular all the children in the hotel were given full size Easter eggs on Easter Sunday which was a very nice touch.The only thing that let it down was that despite having an 8pm booking for an evening meal on our first day, the bar and restaurant was so busy (not enough staff to meet demands?) that we were not seated until after 8.30 and our first course did not arrive until after 9pm. The saving grace was that our daughter was provided with an activity pack to keep her occupied...but still we had not anticipated that it would be about 10.30 before we had finished eating, which was a little bit too late for our liking with a young child. So much so, that we decided to eat elsewhere for the remaining two nights that we stayed at this (mostly) wonderful hotel.

Super relaxing weekendMy fiance and I stayed here because we needed a quiet, relaxing weekend away. This was a perfect hotel. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and they all really went out of their way to help us. The room was lovely and comfortable and very quiet. The views from the restaurant were fantastic whilst dinner in the evening was delicious. The only negative comment I have was that the breakfast service was poor. There was little food available when we arrived at breakfast (although this was peak breakfast time on a busy bank holiday weekend) and we had to wait for food to be cooked and for fresh fruit to be brought out. This happened on both mornings and the breakfast staff seemed to be unable to deal with the peak-time demand. The selection of breakfast foods would have been fine if they had not been so busy.The Spa and pool were very nice and clean and Nigel (operations manager) was particularly helpful -we mentioned that we wanted to go to Ironbridge and he offered to write us detailed notes of directions to get there and have them ready for us when we were leaving the Spa!We visited Ironbridge which was very pretty and we wished we'd had more time in the area as there was plenty to do. We would definately return to both the hotel and the area.

The hotel is a purpose built Golf and Spa hotel and everyone was friendly. I asked for the second room to also have a view of the gorge but the receptionist didn't know the layout as well as she should and the room next door that was allocated overlooked a courtyard. It is obviously a popular hotel but I would next time stay in Ironbridge - nothing wrong with the hotel just my preference for location. Menu seemed expensive so we ate out but breakfast was very good

Good looking modern hotel with great views into the Ironbridge Gorge.Rooms modern and clean, not the largest but certainly not small.Good facilities and staff very helpful.Restaurant service very slow if you don't book. One night we turned up at 7.30pm and didn't get main course until 9.15pm, they were very disorganised that night but I suspect there was no manager on duty in restaurant.The second night we booked and got seated and served in good time, food generally good standard but portions are small - 9 chips with a steak though built in a box shape, I'd rather of had twice as many.

A Little Gem We travel the UK alot and it is rare to find such a lovley hotel , the service was 100% from the time we got there , in recent times its hard to find staff with such passion and pride in the Hotel , we had a meal in the evening in the main resteaunt and once again this was 100% i can not say enough about how good our experiance was there and we would recomend this hotel with out a second thought , this is the first time we have ever made comments about a hotel on line but we felf the need to on this occasion as we beleive it is a little Gem .

Very nice hotelNice hotel, friendly service only complaint was that the food ordered in the golf club took ages to arrive and we were not able to eat in the restaurant in the evening as it was full. Spa was excellent.
