The Taylor Hotel upkeep is great. The beds are heavenly and the uniqueness is so very Paris. There is a school next door, so it's early morning noise, but for us as tourists, we were up and moving at that time anyway. The Breakfast is super - lots of pastries and great coffee. The TV has no English option and the elevator is small, but we very much enjoyed the neighborhood. Lots of restaurants, some shopping and easy access to the underground.

We found the room very tiny, well suited for Midgets. It was a bit problematic for both of us to move around in the room at the same time. It was very quiet. Unfortunately there was constantly a rather unpleasant smell from the bathroom, although it was very clean. We found out that the other rooms were bigger!!!So we wondered if we were given this small room because we had reserved thru internet.

A quite and very well located hotel, only 3 minutes walk from Metro Plaza Republique. Surpassed my expectations. Nice, sheap and spacious hotelrooms in the city of Paris are hard to find.

Good value for Paris. Very tough to find by car. Very close to the Metro and easy waliking distace to most places. Poor communication on location of breakfast and very expensive for a continental breakfast. We would return.

The double we booked was spacious and comfortable, and the price was excellent for this standard of hotel; the proximity to Gare de L'Est was an added bonus, since we were travelling on. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous, and looked after a jacket of mine until we returned from Switzerland. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay for a few nights in Paris at a reasonable rate.

The desk clerk was very gracious about helping me print out a document and calling for a taxi to the airport. I found the 10th arrondissement to be a rather shabby, and the street where the hotel was located to be a bit depressing. I think the hotel lobby was being remodeled so it didn't look like the photos and was rather bleak. There were no international channels on the cable TV.

Hotel Taylor has actually become Hotel Louxor. I arrived amidst their renovation, which meant that every morning at around 8am there would be construction noise right outside my window. During the nights it was also extremely noisy as the large windows facing the street was the only source of ventilation (which meant that they had to be left wide open!) At least the rooms were brand new (but it also meant the rooms smelt of paint all the time.)

I was rather disappointed with what was shown on this website to what I actually got. When checking into Hotel Taylor, I was given keys to a single room to the hotel next door, Louxor Hotel. I didn't question it at the time (perhaps I should have) but I thought that maybe the hotels were in the process of becoming one as renovations/refurbishments were taking place during my stay. My room was much smaller than I imagined - only room for a single bed, a narrow walkway and my suitcase. The bathroom was literally just standing room space. I'm not sure whether to rate Louxor Hotel or Taylor Hotel. Be careful when booking on Venere.com - make sure you're getting what you're booking for. Location wise, very close to the Republique metro, which was a plus, but the negative was that it's not in a very nice neighbourhood. The first 2 days I was there I had to take the long way round to the hotel because the short way entailed me walking through an archway that had 2 homeless people sleeping under it on a mattress. I can only assume the mattress was dumped there by the hotel, thus attracting the homeless to sleep there. It was only by the 3rd day when the mattress was taken away that I felt safer to walk through. Offering free internet is a bonus too, however it doesn't mean much when you're unable to use it due to renovations. Relocating the connection would have been good for the 3 days it was out of commission. If you don't plan on spending much time in the hotel, as I imagine you wouldn't in Paris, it's a simple 2star hotel suitable just for sleeping in. Maybe booking a double room would make a difference.

We stayed there 5 nights only because we had reservations. If the reservation had been for only one night, we would have left after one night. The tiles in the bathroom were broken around the tub, there was no carpet strip on the floor and carpet entering the room, someone could have easily tripped. The hairdryer in the bathroom was just hanging with wires exposed. Three words (it was horrible)

Rooms a good size. Quiet, except for occasional late night/early morning noisy people in street. Free internet access at reception very welcome. However, need to make things easier for overseas visitors, as keyboard is different to UK/US and someone has changed the settings so that not all the keys are as they are marked on the keyboard!

Hôtel Taylor is an outstanding place to stay for someone travelling on a budget in Paris. It was exactly as described online and, in fact, my room was considerably larger than I'd expected. It was furnished with a double bed, had a closet, a desk, plenty of shelves, and a full bath with private toilet. Diana, Gregory, and the entire staff were always cheerful, friendly and helpful. I am coming back to Paris in the fall and plan to stay in Hôtel Taylor again. Merci beaucoup!

We booked a triple room. It was spacious (very) but 30 centimeters from the kitchen. It was both charming and strange. You literally walked into other guests breakfast table when you opend the door in the morning. The area was fine, and easy access to everything in Paris!

Unfortunately, I don't have any comment concerning this hotel, because although I had booked a triple room since February (our stay was planned for 6-10/4/2007), when we arrived there was no room available in Hotel Taylor and they told us that due to the fact that the hotel was under construction, we had to stay in another hotel (Hotel Est) which was 3 blocks away. This was impossible for us to do, since we had arranged all our visits/pick ups and movements from this hotel. Besides the only metro station which was near the other hotel would be closed for 2 months, something that I knew almost a month ago. On the other hand Hotel Taylor itself was not under construction but they had taken over Hotel Luxor next door and they had works done there, which means that they just didn't book my room from the beginning in Taylor and they didn't told me about the change. After asking to call the tourist police department they told us that they had no room at Taylor at all, but they had only two singles at Luxor and they'll be able to give us a triple next day, not in Hotel Taylor but in Hotel Luxor. We agreed to stay in the 2 singles for one night (they charged us as if it was a triple and they offered us free breakfast for next morning). Of course Hotel Luxor though it was under renovation and its bathrooms were brand new (too small but nice) and its walls were fresh painted it was nothing like the photos we had seen in Taylor's site. They were the simplest thing you can imagine without even a wardrobe to put our things in. So as you can understand I don't have any opinion for Hotel Taylor itself and I'm afraid that from now on nobody will be sure where he is going to stay!

Well, we've stayed there for 3 nights and expected a bigger room as in the photos. Also, the wireless internet access doesn't really work on all floors. Actually, the concierge told me that it really works only in the first two floors. Is really close to Republique and Jacques Bonsergeant metro stations.

For a 2-star hotel it was quite clean and calm. The breakfast was also included in the price on the contrary to what stated in the site. Therefore, the price for three persons (101 euros) was quite reasonable. the hotel is only a few minutes from Republique square and access to metro and buses is easy. The hotel staff were especially very competent and welcoming. By the way, don't forget that a visitor doesn't waste time in the hotel in Paris.
