this place is just plain ok. some creepy smells about the whole resort. not too clean. the staff is very good about customer service. they went the extra mile. the beds are way small.

It was on the lake and the hotel room was secluded. This resort is very nice and very helpful. The beds were old and cheap and uncomfortable.

September, 2008
The property is a bit dated, but the incredible staff and overall service more than made up for the age of the hotel and facilities. Would recommend this location highly.

My room had bugs, the ac blower unit on the wall had obvious mold growing on it so when the blower was on it blew mold spores throughout my room an I am an allergy. I had to wait almost 4 hours upon checkin to obtain a room assignment

Proximity to outdoor activities. Fitness center needs to be updated. Tan-Tar-A would be a great destination for a weekend get away for a family. Restaurants and shopping is about 10 minutes away. The location is on the lake, and there are plenty of outdoor activities.

Although, clean and no ordors, they need to invest in sprucing up the rooms. A fresh coat of paint, new carpet, update the bathroom, etc. It is a bit out-dated. The staff was very friendly and accomodating!!!!!

We were very pleased with the amenities and the site was great. It was a bit dated and not the cleanest but not bad. Good enough I will return. I loved that the place was virtually self-contained. The indoor waterpark was nice for the kids and the outdoor pool by the lake was great. The arcade had many out of order games and the restaurant on site was expensive and not very good.

Everything outside of the room was great: staff, parking, etc. In the room was awful: mold, dust and air quality. Will look to stay at a different hotel next time.

If you like to golf, this is the place to go. We had access to a shuttle from our "cabin" to anywhere on the property. If you walk anywhere, be prepared for steep hills and lots of steps. There were 2.5 flights down to our cabin, and 3 flights down to the lake. Bring bug repellent. The resort was huge! When we took our car to go someplace, I normally got lost trying to find our cabin. Overall a great place to stay!

This resort is a good value for all the amenities it offers but in general the accomidations are dated and need attention.Cleanliness of the room was good but other areas were not.

Felt like a safe area, room had a good view. Ants in the kitchenette, mouse running in ceiling of bath. Tacked on an additional $10 fee for facilities that I didn’t use or intend to use so cost was $20 more than expected. Didn’t feel comfortable using the kitchenette due to ants. The ants in the bath weren't as bad. Mouse running in ceiling was the most annoying. Room was worn and outdated.

Tan-Tar-a Resort is a nice get away but most resort activities will dip into your pocket. There are 3 pools, an exercise facility, spa, watercraft rental, indoor water park, shops, bowling alley and arcade. You can definitely enjoy your vacation without ever leaving the resort but it will cost you. The room itself was exceptionally clean and included high quality sheets, comforter and a mini fridge. This place is worth checking out!

Tan-Tar-AResort was on of the best places I have stayed at. The hotel staff was extremely nice and eager to help find anything we needed at the hotel or in the town. The activities that are offered at the hotel are fun that all members of the family can enjoy. It was truely a great place to stay.

The grounds were beautiful. The room needs to be updated. The room needs to be updated. I didn't even want to walk on the carpet bare footed. However, I would stay in the newer part of the resort. The indoor pool and hot tub were amazing! The staff was very friendly.

They closed the large outside pools at 9:00 on Friday and Saturday night . . .how disappointing!

This resort had great amenities. While it could use a coat of paint here or there, it was a great resort. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean. The indoor pool and spa were very nice. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony, drinking wine, and looking at the lake view. We would visit again if the opportunity araises.

"Tan-Tar-A is dark, dingy & noisy. With small children above us, we could hear every footstep. Staff not friendly. Have to pay for lousy WiFi service. Place needs some major updating. Pool filled with kids and the water was cloudy and dirty looking. Grounds were not well maintained.Asking high prices for low quality. At one time, this was the place to be...not anymore for me!! "

We had a great time!! The resort was beautiful, clean, and had wonderful friendly service. I would recommend it to friends and family!!

Staff was very friendly, pool was very clean, and great view of the lake. Attractions were too expensive and nothing was open due to season even though it was before labor day. My husband requested champagne and strawberries. They brought it up even though they don't usually do that. The thing that was bad was the cruise boat was closed until the next weekend. Summer wasn't over but the hotel acted like it was. The wave runners were way overpriced for rentals. You couldn't drive the wave runners that far either. The pools closed too early at night as well. Bring your walking shoes because the resort sits on hills!
