The beach in this area is great! You can go between the Divi and Tam resorts and find your own space without a lot of hassle. Don't expect a 4 or 5 star hotel in these resorts, but for the value and friendly staff, it's hard to beat!

Our vacation was mainly for rest and relaxation! We didn't want to think or lift a finger. Tamarijn was definately the place to do it! The food at the different restaurants was great and the all you can eat buffet was very good. The only thing that sorta of got to us at the end was the bird situation during breakfast. The dining room tables and chairs was outside under an awning and umbrellas, so the birds had free access to the tables if you weren't watching. Other than that the staff was very friendly and the bartenders made sure you had a great time. We definately would go back again! And oh yeah did I mention that all the rooms have ocean views! Better than the Divi!

This hotel was quite nice. The food was good - not excellent but consistently good. The pool side grill with the pizza and chicken was great for our family and our picky 4 year old. The buffet had plenty to choose from for all three meals of the day. The restuarants were nice but you need to make a reservation one to two days in advance. Alcohol was top shelf. The grounds were clean, the room was clean and comfortable. We had a ground floor room which lead to some grass and then the sand and water. Not a lot of people on this beach and a great view. Our boys loved trying to find the lizards and iguanas (that was the best part of the trip for them). There were free towels and floatation things. You could use a bike. There was some entertainment each night and there is a shuttel to the sister hotel down the street. This hotel is best for older people and families who really don't party at night. Aruba is an easy country to navagate if you rent a car as we did. We would come back here again.

First I would like to say I won't be back. Horrible service from the staff. The staff is rude, and constanly on thier cell phones. If your an american and plan on making a trip forget about getting served at the bar. Regardless of what bar tender was working, the made sure that everyone was severed before the americans. The Beach was great. The food was great as well, anytime your hungry you can get a bite to eat. The first night our room wasn't even cleaned. Beware if you plan on going here.

We stayed for 6 days. This was the best vacation ever. We can't wait to go again. There is a lot of shopping to do in Aruba and a lot of really great deals. We explored the island by renting a Jeep. It was a lot of fun. But the only problem was that the road were not marked. So, you were not sure where you were when it came to the back roads. I have resourced Aruba so much that I will know what not to bring and what to bring next time. I only rains for short periods. So, do not believe the Weather Channel or any thing else. We had rain for a short time when we got there on Sunday. Then the sun came out. Then again on Thursday for a few minutes. Nothing serious to worry about. The people were so kind and friendly. The food was wonderful. Everyone who works for the Hotel made sure that we were having a good time. Always greating us with a Hello, A how are you. Good Morning. My boyfriend and I are both in the Culinary fields and we know food very well. There is a lot to pick from in Aruba.

I needed R&R and this place was perfect to provide it. It is a great family resort, the fact that you can use amenities in Divi and Tamarijn is a great idea. Pick your place of the day to eat and the bar to drink or stay at the same one, your choice. My husband wanted to relax and have everything close, food drink room. He is not a walker so the golf cart to take him around was a big plus. I love to walk the beach, walked one way for an hour safely and comfortably, walked around the resorts and to the casino, got my exercise in a very nice exercise center. Loved the restaurants and buffets - great people and great service from the time we arrived and even after we checked out they offered to give us temporary bracelets just in case we wanted more food/drinks. The beach is to die for, the ocean was calm, warm and one could see the bottom. No corrals or big fish there. One of the best vacations we had. The room and the bathroom have been renovated, LCD TV was great. They cleaned the room every day Great selection in wines, only 3 types of beer, MANY different combinations of drinks.

Good service, beautiful weather and beach right outside the patio door. Not too many activities, but the beach experience was great. The room was clean.The toilet was slow to fill after it was flushed. Nice tv and NY based satellite service. Also a small refrigerator.The entire staff was pleasant and always took good care of you. The internal shuttle and the shuttle to the Divi hotel was pretty good and almost always available.

Just returned from 7 wonderful days at the Tam! I loved the Tam as we could also walk over to the Divi and hang out at the outdoor bars, pools and have meals there. I recommend the Red Parrot as it was our favorite! The Paparazzi Italian place at the Tamarijn was excellent except that the service was sooooo slow! The food was great though....I recommend the risotto - the best I've ever had! The rooms were small but soooo clean. My only complaint was I E-mailed the Tam 3 times prior to arrival to request a first floor king room, and we recv'd a second floor with balcony with 2 queens. Didn't matter much to us though because we were only in our room to sleep and shower....the rest of the time we were outside enjoying the beautiful weather! Everyone was really nice and helpful. You can plan ALL of your activities, including renting a car or jeep for a day right there at the resort. We can't wait to go back next year! Don't expect a 4 or 5 star resort...it is definitely 3 stars but the beaches, food, drinks, concierge and housekeeping can't be beat! Nathy the concierge was the MOST helpful person I have ever encountered at a resort.

The staff at this Hotel was unbelivable, they went above and beyond with my son . The activities people and the Bartenders along with the wait staff and food manager went way above and beyond ...Thank you no complaints/ just wish they had pack and plays for the babies instead of cribs , much safer and easier. Its also nice to use the other pools on the resort if the ain one was to hot and busy. GREAT VACATION

Tamarijn is part of the DIVI RESORTS. When you stay at Tamarijn, you can walk down the beach and enjoy the Divi amenities as part of your all-inclusive package - and can also use the garden pools at the Divi Village and timeshares. So, all things considered, you get about 10 pools and about 10 different dining options with your stay. That being said, Tamarijn is older and not as nice as Divi All Inclusive (that includes the pool, atmosphere, restaurants and staff attitude). So, if you want to save a little money, stay at Tamarijn and hang out at Divi. But if you want a little more luxury, just pay for Divi. The upside of the whole resort complex: the beach is excellent. The location is central - so that you can get to city center easily, or to the luxury high-rise center for shopping quickly. The pools are freshwater - excellent. They have golf carts that can shuttle you to other parts of the resort. Tamarijn has a bicycle rental - roads are congested but certainly possible to ride bikes. The downside: the food was just okay and the drinks were watered down. Don't try to catch a buzz from mixed drinks - it'll never happen - stick with wine or beer. Aside from the reservation only restaurants, the breakfast and lunch food was just average. The staff were not as friendly and intuitive as other resorts on other islands that we have been to. Tamarijn rooms and amenities were average-to-wellworn. Divi clientele seemed more upscale than Tamarijn, which had a louder bar area. Aruba/Oranjestad: less authentic than I had hopped. I'm a big fan of the Dutch, and although you see it in the language - Aruba is just another touristy Caribbean Island for the affluent.

We loved the Tam, and are planning a trip back in June! Food at restaurants very good, we made reservations every night with no problems. Great drinks, not watered down. Great kids activities, lots of free stuff given away for games, etc. We came home with wine, champagne, t-shirts, etc. Our teen kids loved the late night pizzas, ice cream and sandwiches. We loved the bars and the beach. Rooms are average size, clean and right on beach. We were in 2300 building, we walked to wider beach further down. Casino was a fun diversion in the evenings, and we did take the bus downtown for shopping one day, very cheap. Best all-inclusive we have ever been to, and it is truly all-inclusive. They don't ask for add'l tips, etc. Food is very good at sit-downs. Our favorite was Paparazzi (service is slow though). Where else can you get steaks, lobster, shrimp, etc with a glass of wine in a lovely restaurant all-inclusive? Stay here, you won't regret it. And the kids are FREE!

It was my first time in Aruba. I really had a relaxing time. The resort is a low rise and the rooms where right on the beach. I wanted a quaint place to stay and it was exactly what I was looking for. The beach was amazing. I've been to All Inclusives before but the Tamarijn had the best selection of food. Ginger is one of the dinning options and I loved it. It's a great deal for your money. I did a lot of research and you can't beat what you get for the price. One thing I was dissapoined with is that after 1am everything is completely shut down, you can't even get a bottle of water (not even a vending machine)but the room has a fridge so keep it stocked. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful. Any issues we had where attended to immeditely. I was a surprised that the bartenders where the least friendly. The resort was geared toward families and couples. I went with a friend and we are both single, it wasn't the best choice if you want to "PARTY", but you don't have to go very far for nightlife. I definately will go back.

This was our third January trip to the Tamarijn in three years. We were checked in and on the beach about an hour after our plane landed. There is nothing fancy about the Tamarijn, but the service is very good, and there is no need to leave the Tamarijn/Divi complex for anything. If you love the beach and just want to relax, this is an excellent location.

Wonderful time. Just got back last night and am ready to go back again. Our experience was great from start to finish. Only one complaint, the beach became very dirty from a couple of night storms that blew through and as soon as that was brought to the attention of the management it was taken care of. Ocean front room and walk right out of our door onto the beach. The food for an all inclusive was excellent! We up-graded so we could use the facilities at the Divi and it was worth the little extra. Top shelf booze was a great, unexpected bonus as we are Dewars fans. All of the staf were friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel. I think the beach area at the Divi is really nicer than the Tam.....wider and less rocks. Can't go wrong at either place. We loved every minute of our stay! RC

My wife and I stayed at the Tamarijn with our 7 year old son from December 6 to 20. We had a great time! The rooms are basic, but we couldn't have cared less about that. We were there for the surf, sand, sun and sights! The room was clean and comfortable, so that made us happy. The quality and variety of food at the Tam and Divi kept us happy for 2 weeks. We saw some repeats by the 2nd week, but it had been long enough in between that it didn't bother us. We liked Paparazzi the best and Ginger was just ok, the rest falling in between. My wife has food allergies and she was always able to find something to eat. The low-rise area where the Tam is located is much more relaxed than the high-rise area further north. We much preferred the low-rise area. Downtown Oranjestad was about a 20 minute walk from the Tam. I walked there on numerous occasions by myself and never had any problems. I always felt quite safe on this island. My son had a great time playing in the ocean and swimming in the pools. The only problem we had was with the kids club, which was not at all well attended by other kids, so we didn't bother booking him into that. He did fine meeting other kids his age the second week we were there. The first week, he wasn't able to find any suitable playmates, but we made do by going to the ocean and bodysurfing. I would also recommend one of the jeep tours. We had a good time going to the natural pool on the other side of the island.

friendly staff, variety of atomospheres make for an excellent vacation. Once you check in the only thing left for you to do is enjoy yourself. Oranjestad is lovely and there are several nicerestaurants where you can eat, but the beauty of the Tamarijn is you can travel around all day,and come to the restaurants at the resort and enjoy all your meals and beverages. All meals atthe resort are excellent. I look forward to many more vacations there.

The Tam was a great place to stay. The food was excellent. We had the buffet mostly for breakfast and lunch and only a couple of times for dinner. The food at the buffet was very good. The restaurants for dinner were outstanding. Dinner at the Red Parrot was by far the best meal on the resort. You have to make your reservations early, first thing in the morning to get a good time. The rooms all has a beautiful ocean view. the rooms were nice. The only hang up was there is no a/c in the bathroom. The beds were very firm too.

Our trip was perfect. The room was nice and clean. The food was GREAT. The staff were all extremely nice and helpful. The weather and beach was beautiful. I would give the TAMARIJN a FIVE STAR rating. Anyone who gives a negative rating is nuts. The best bang for the buck!!!

This trip is probably the best vacation we ever had. We've never done all inclusive before, but it is most definitely the way to go. Everything was awesome - the food, drinks and entertainment. Having a room with access to the beach just steps away was exactly what we wanted.
