At $225 + tax bed and breakfast, it's more expensive than some of the other old Damascus houses, but we visited a few, and the Talisman is in a class of its own. The decor (especially the two courtyards) is stunning, and it has a pool (which is unusual for the traditional hotels). The rooms are lovely, bathrooms are very well equipped, and breakfast (we went with the Oriental) was superb. The staff in general are helpful and efficient, although I do agree with previous reviewers who mention queues at reception, and at one point the receptionist was very short with me. The location in the heart of the old town is great. Overall, i'd highly recommend the hotel if your budget stretches to it.

I booked the entire hotel for my wedding and then stayed further. Every room is individually styled and each one is wonderful; all my guests were well surprised. The hotel management was simply superb at working with us. The staff is friendly and attentive. The common pool area is calm, relaxing and beautiful. If you want to make your stay in Old Damascus memorable, this is the place.
