A little tricky to find while walking but turned out to be a great location, very friendly staff and nice, clean room and everything worked great. Internet didn't work with Windows Vista but there were plenty of internet cafes down the street. Definitly located in the 'hot spot' of town and highly recommended.

When booking this hotel we understood that there was a "lively pub" attached. What we were not told is that said pub is mainly in the courtyard directly outside the rooms (which are not double glazed) and that loud music goes on until after 1am. Had we known this we would not have booked into this hotel. Also the hotel tried to charge us more than we were quoted by late rooms and were hostile when we refused to pay any extra. Hotel staff were not particularly helpful.

Room was far too hot but apart from that, no complaints. Perhaps a little more help with putting my bag into the luggage store. That was a bit too muvh like DIY!

The Hotel is in a great location, the room cleaning staff could do better and the bed could be more comfortable, but in general the staff was very helpful and went out of the way to please. could get noisy on weekends.

broken loo - un lockable window (gf to service yard!) bit smelly - great shower though but worse breakfast on sat am was 8am start...had a train to catch - breaksfast happens at 6.30 - 7am latest start time...shocking...

Bring your earplugs! Or be so beat from travel it simply doesn't matter. They have a huge outdoor TV set that plays Football games all night. Other than that, it's right in all the tourist locations and a block or so from the University. The breakfast was good. The room and building was charming. Even a small balcony to go out on. A nice sized room with a good bathroom. No one should travel without earplugs and an eyshade anyway. You can walk to the train station with luggage from it. The location makes up for a lot.

The elevator broke three times during my four night stay. The first time I went down a fire exit which was the most disgusting stairwell I have ever seen. It stunk of urine and had bird droppings all over the stairwell. It was a complete health hazard. The trap door was saturated with urine? as if birds lived in it or on it. It was like being in a dirty zoo. When I called downstairs the next time to find another way down the person at the desk couldn't tell me where the other exit led. It led me outside into an alley cluttered with debris that I had to climb over. I found the hotel to be overpriced for a less than 1 star facility. It obviously caters to the bar crowd not the hotel guests. The two gentlemen who attended the guests at the breakfast were courteous and efficient. The housekeeper cleaned the room everyday nicely.

hotel close to ncp car park and discount provided by recpton/ staff very friendly/ 1 night stay on monday can imagine very noisy at wkends tho/ only criticism was the mattress which was lumpy. was ok for one night tho. everything was within walking distance

This was a great location for city centre. Room was tidy + comfortable. Shower was broken initially but this was swiftly fixed when we reported it. Some may find this it a bit noisy at night but its to be expected if you stay in the middle of a pub/club area. Breakfast was nice + plentiful. Would definitely use this again for a short break.

The hotel was fine and the customer service was grand. However, it was extremely disappointing that coverage of the Ireland/Montenegro football match was cut off with 20 min to go to allow for showing of the Scotland/Iceland game on all screens in the pub. There was a group of Irish people who had been there for the duration of the game since it had been advertised outside that the match would be shown in the pub. It is not acceptable in any way, shape or form, to to do something like this.

Having just paid the same rate for a luxury Hotel in Glasgow the previous night this hotel was such a disappointment. It is more like a student hostel, really basic and grubby marks on the walls of the room and wallpaper falling off the ceiling. The location is great.
