Date of Stay: July, 2009

This hotel is horrible, the staff was rude and unhelpful. We were given a key to a room that had not been cleaned and when we asked why we were told it was because check in was not until 3 and none of the rooms had been cleaned although when we called earlier in the day we were told check in was 1:30. why would they hand us a key to a room that had not been cleaned and smelled of smoke and mildew??

As my wife put it - "iky yicky! This place is horrible. TV didn't work right, door lock is ricketty, rooms are smelly, heater is puny, and I've seen better bathrooms at rest stops. But then, you get what you pay for, it's cheap and nasty! We left the room to stay at another hotel the same night.

We made an online reservation through online travel website for the Tahoe Inn. When we arrived there on Friday night the person at the front desk told us that she could not find our reservation and since the hotel is fully booked we cannot stay there. Very quickly she told us goodbye and we were left in the cold on Friday night at Tahoe. Thankfully, there are many other low-cost hotels in the area, some of which probably don't even advertise online, so we found accomodation relatively quickly. Since we did not have online travel website's contact number and the advertised free wireless at the Tahoe inn had been down for several days we could not contact online travel website during the conversation with the hotel receptionies. We were only able to call online travel website after we checked into the other hotel and logged online. online travel website refunded us for the prepaid expense for Tahoe Inn. I think online travel website should not work with Tahoe Inn in the future since their customer service is so poor.

We stayed at the Tahoe Inn because we were visiting family in the area. We liked the location and the price. We hung out with family at their house and just used the Inn to sleep. The parking was a bit tight when we arrived back one night. The Inn was thankfully quiet both nights. We were able to have our dog with us for no extra cost, which is a huge plus. There was trash located at one of the entrances that seemed to be unkept, I would recommend that the Inn get a better area for their trash and more contained so that wild animals would not be attracted to it.

This hotel is disgusting. In the room we stayed in was a giant hole in the wall that was obviously replastered as if someone had gone through it with a big sign saying "DO NOT TOUCH". The beds were falling apart, there was mildew on the shower floors and pipe rot on the ceilings. There were stains all over the rugs. The locks on the doors looked like they were just broken into. We arrived late and had to go down the street to check in and after we saw the conditions of the room decided to check out first thing in the morning. They refused to let us check out since we booked through travel website and told us we had to stay until the next day. Well of course we made other accomodations and then went the next morning to turn in the keys and asked to talk to the manager. We expressed our concerns and her only concern with the room was that we didnt stay the prior night and she could have sold it to someone else. We explained why we didnt stay and that we tried to check out the day before and she said she would approve a refund. So once we got back we contacted travel website for the refund and they contacted the manager and she refused due to it was our fault we didnt stay that night and made other arrangements. I would NEVER recommend this Inn to anyone and as a result we have reported her to the health and safety board due to the filthiness of the facility. Be careful where you stay and especially if you have kids with you.

This hotel was disgusting. There were a bunch of college age kids getting drunk in the parking lot and making alot of noise, and the hotel staff did nothing about it, but the local law enforcement did. The room had dried blood on the floor, the walls were cracking along with the ceiling, there was garbage under the bed, the tub looked like it had not been used in forever. Really nasty and trashy hotel. WILL NOT RECCOMMEND.

Do not stay downstairs! It sounded like someone was going to come through the ceiling all night. The room was old and dirty and there was mold in the bathroom.

This place is horrible. The "non-smoking" room reeks of smoke, and when I told the management, I was handed a can of air freshener. I'm not kidding. There is a huge stain from water damage on the ceiling, the beds are falling apart, and the advertised wireless Internet doesn't work (i'm writing this on my iphone). I'm on hold with my online travel website as I type, trying to get my money back. Take my advice - stay away.

We booked the superior king family room and it was a big spacious room, BUT it smelled really bad, shower faucet would not stop running, bad stains on couch,beds and walls, and everything looked really old and junky. We walked in room, stayed for about a minute and left to find a new hotel. Every hotel was booked in Tahoe so we ended up making a 30 minute drive to Reno at 3 a.m. Maybe we were just given a bad room, but I would not book this hotel again. However, the hotel staff was courteous and gave us a refund.

We got there and sheets were clean. Tiny TV. Antiquated Bathroom. There was a little mold in the rooms. Shower Steam set off the smoke alarm...there was a fun race outside! Management office smelled badly of smoke. I probably wouldn't be able to go again because of the mold. Friendly enough staff.

our family has been frequent to lake tahoe for the past few years now. we enjoy the winter season and the great activities to do around in lake tahoe. a few years back i found the tahoe inn while driving past it. we decided to stay there and since then we have been staying at the tahoe inn for the past years when we take our lake tahoe vacation. the rooms are well sized, clean, priced really well and above all they are comfortable. we found out from their front desk staff that the hotel actually had a website (www.staysf.com) where we should book from and would find the cheapest prices. the hotel is located close to casinos, ski resorts and restaurants. i would definitely recommend this hotel to others for its clean rooms, good staff service and well priced accommodations. the kids also really enjoyed the outdoor pool that the hotel has. all in all a good place to stay at when visiting the beautiful lake tahoe.

This was absolutely the worst motel I had ever stayed. It was equipped with a small table and two chairs nobody wanted to sit on them. It's located on the 1st floor but the windows couldn't be locked. The door didn't have deadlock bolt and safety chain. The ceiling was full of water stain. The 2nd floor room was probably flooded sometime. Too bad the motel wouldn't refund for cancellation since we weren't directly book with them. Will look for something else for our trip next time.

I will come back to this hotel but hope the staff maintenance can clean up better, not make the towels in restroom difference size which the biggest towel only too small. Otherwise I like this place

A trip to Lake Tahoe from all the way from Atlanta, Georgia was worth the while. Lake Tahoe was amazingly beautiful with its natural beauty and many great attractions and things to do in lake tahoe. the fact that we got a good deal for the tahoe inn really helped and also this hotel was comfortable. there was nothing exciting about this hotel but it was well maintained, great staff who helped us with questions and provided decent answers and service. the tahoe inn is a good cozy spot for people looking to visit the lake tahoe area. we were a family of five including 3 kids and they loved the low key, open and relaxed atmosphere of the tahoe inn (swimming pool was huge plus). overall a good hotel and if ever back to lake tahoe, we would want to stay at the tahoe inn.

We were doing a ski trip on the cheap,as far as lodgeing this Inn fit the bill. Walls are thin so noise was noticeable.Nice area,good food close by.Ski resorts are short drives away.Never stayed on this side of lake,nice change from south shore.

"If you are looking for a place to sleep and nothing else, this is the place. This no-frills hotel sports an outdoor pool, free parking, a coffee maker, soap, and nothing else. You have to borrow an iron and hair dryer from the office, there is no ""business center"", our room didn't have a clock or a microwave, and out of 4 days we got maid service once. But for a budget getaway, its a place to sleep!"

nice hotel, quiet, close to everything, Northstar, Homewood, Alpine Meadows, etc. Great deals in the front office on lift passes, wireless internet kinda sucked but hey its a vacation right? Occasionally hot water runs out at peak times, but if you let it run it heats up quick. Nice place, i would stay there again! For $30 a night, it was awesome!
