Stayed here 1 night July 2008. PIctures on the actual website for the Tahoe Biltmore make it look like a castle. It certainly is NOT! It is old and musty-our first room was next to the elevator so we asked to move. Front desk was very helpful and moved us right away. But then the room was all the way down a dark and dingy hall that my husband said reminded him of old air force barracks. The room was very very small and again old and musty. The only window in the room was a very small window all the way to the side of the room that opened up to an upstairs roof top patio and others had a door to go out on but ours didn't. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The casino is old and very small with older machines. To us, this place was a dump. We would never stay here again. There are lots of other motels on Lake Tahoe that I would choose another time.

Closest place to stay for a show at the Crystal Bay Ballroom . Rooms are small , not the cleanest and are due for some upgrading . We have stayed at all three large inns right there in Crystal Bay and the Biltmare is the best deal for your dollar , easiest to get in and out of , and a decent diner that is open 24 hours (which is great for after show chow) .

The Tahoe Biltmore is a hotel in which my husband and I both feel we were welcomed as family. I had stayed there previously but my husband had only been to the casino when we honeymooned at a famous Lodge across the street a few years earlier. Check-in was easy and welcoming. We were given coupons for a free daily breakfast for each day of our stay. This was a a kind gesture as the 24hr restaurant serves a $1.99 breakfast 24/7. It is a cooked-to-order meal with 2 eggs, bacon, ham or sausage; and toast. Such a deal! What a bargain! We saw a lot of students from Sierra Nevada College eating that same meal. The restaurant staff and management were beyond hospitable. Our room had a king bed and a small refrigerator, just as we had requested. The daily charge for the fridge was $10.00. This fee was waived when we went to the front desk to inquire about adding another night to our stay. This was a gesture of kindness, not policy. We were having too much fun and just had to stay that additional night. We visited the nearby Ponderosa Ranch to see where Ben, Little Joe, Hoss, and Adam made the Bonanza television series. The Tahoe Biltmore Casino was great for us. We were lucky and well entertained. When one considers the size of the casino keep in mind the size of the hotel. These two elements blend very well. The casino is on two floors, has table games and slots, and the cocktail service was excellent. Remember this: It's not Vegas. The glitz and glamour are absent. This is a clean, secure, and comfortable establishment. Best value in North Shore.
