Hotel was okay. Small room. Rate gave us a garden view which was the parking lot. Expensive but good location. Able to book whale watching and have pick up at the hotel.

The hotel is overpriced. They promised us a queen bed, but what they gave us was a double (they don't have any true queens). Most of the guests come on tour busses. The hotel is not air conditioned (doesn't need it), but don't get a room on the front side on Friday night - the awful lounge singer will cause you to close your windows. Don't book whale watching tours through the hotel. Book direct through one of the companies that leave from Grande Bergeronnes. Don't eat at the hotel restaurants. There are cheaper and better within walking distance.

I'll focus first on the best points, my own opinion of course. 1. Fabulous location. Beautiful bay view. And at the center of the village. That alone is worth the price. 2. Staff friendly and non invasive. 3. Good choice of restaurants on the premises from inexpensive to very expensive. Good food in all of them. 4. Room clean and functional. 5. Laid back atmosphere. 6. The musician at the piano bar was very good. 7. Fast and courteous get away.. 8. Grounds well kept although the lawn mower person should be taught how to mow in a regular pattern. The not so good points: 1. Reception staff not very clear about giving information about the hotel's facilities. 2. Valet service only available on demand. Not very helpful on the first arrival. 3. Rooms, river view, are small, 1942 standards, and have no fridges in them because possibly there is no space. 4. Ceiling fan is noisy. The neighbours fan can be heard. 5. Breakfast times are very restrictive, from 7 to 10 am. good for business people who must go to do business ...in a resort town? 6. No room service. In a four star hotel? 7. National newspapers only available the day after. &. No Wifi and only one post of internet without printing services.
