Swiss in HollandHotel nothing special but centrally located - friendly reception - ok rooms - bar dead (reception staff recommended we did not drink in the hotel but other side of Dam Square! Good but expensive breakfast inc hot food for the Brits! Movies interesting...

Location was fantastic. Hotel staff were simply the best. Had a quiet room on the 6th floor which was to be a 'business class' room. It had everything I needed but only wish the Television had been a little bigger. But so many good things about this hotel. Free internet, fast, VERY fast elevators. Clean and comfortable rooms with comfy beds. I will not hesitate to book again and think it was wonderful hotel for the price. We shopped locally, a blue and white store with good salads and sandwiches, drinks, etc just a few doors from the McDonalds just next door to hotel. We had a fridge so we put store bought goods for breakfast and snacks. Probably more good about this hotel but can't think at the moment. just really really nice time. Loved Anne Frank house and Van Gogh museum. Book online in advance so no wait in the long lines. Oh, Aircon was perfect, worked really well and I had no trouble staying very cool during a hot spell in A/dam.

Ideally located just off Dam Square but very quiet once inside the hotel. Had adjoining rooms which was perfect for guests with small children.

Very friendly staff, great location, all main attractions are within walking distance. Breakfast is exspensive if not included in your rate, but there a great cafes within 5 mins walking distance for breakfast.

The room was very prefab and modular in design. Not FEMA trailer or anything just not enjoyable.....it felt like a cruise ship room. Very small bathroom. Windows are glazed over to prevent viewing and locked in a position that prevents jumping or climbing out in the event of fire. Not horrible just not my favorite.I have a favorite in Amsterdam and it can be found elsewhere

We requested a non smoking room but due to last min booking we were given a smoking room 1st night then given an upgraded room 2nd night. Hotel was excellent and reception staff were really helpful. They held our luggage before and after we checked in.

I thought that the price of the hotel was rather steep. Considering it is a 4star hotel, we had no view from our room, only a pokey little window which you could see the back of another building. The housekeeping staff were also very noisy, slamming doors and shouting and it almost sounded like they were having a party! Not very relaxing. The hotel was very central which was good, but did not really have much else about it. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

Awesome hotel, in the middle of everything. The staff is very helpful. Some of the things they charge you for are a little absurd, for instance a local phone call E70 cent, but I think that's how most hotels are. Free internet on their computers. VERY comfy beds. A kind of disgusting surprise in the closet, at least mine, but some people might be into that kind of stuff..... maybe it was a gag or something left by a previous guest?? otherwise, great.

Hotel location is awesome -- A couple blocks from the Train Station and close to the "Red Light" district and many other places. The staff was helpful if you have any questions --Hotel resturant was ok, nothing to jump up and down for.

If you want to stay in Dam Sq this is the hotel. Very clean comfortable and great security. The staff is very good at all details. Room had all amenities wanted including Nespresso coffee maker, safe, good closet space. Rooms facing the Square have the best view, but will of course have more noise. Overall a hotel I would recommend.

We couldn't have asked for a better hotel or service. The room was very modern and spacious and very clean. The staff were very freindly and helpful. Don't normally use room service or mini bars but as the price of them was similar to that in the local shops it was worth it and didn't seem to be extortinate. It's a shame the same can't be said about the price of the alcoholic drinks in Amsterdam. 2 single vodka and cokes cost depending on where you went cost around 10-18 euros- the latter being much more expensive than in England (Blackpool to be precise) Other than that everything was great and on the doorstep of the Swissotel. Arriving at Schiphol airport- the train station is just underneath where you need to get a ticket to Central amsterdam which is only about 3 train stops. Once there you only have to walk straight ahead for about 10 mins and the hotel will be on your right (after KFC).

Great location for the hotel, right on Dam Square. Easy walking distance to many attractions. Tram stops right by the hotel for easy access everywhere else. Rooms were rather small, though.

For european standards, the size of the room was extremely large. Very nice bathroom. We had A/C problems, but overall, this was the best place I've ever stayed while traveling in Europe. The staff is great!

Great location right on Dam square, very easy to find from central station. We stayed in a room on the 6th (top) floor at the rear of the hotel with rooftop views. This location made it a quiet room.The staff were all friendly and pleasant, we had a late flight and leaving our baggage in the luggage room was not a problem.The stay was on a room only basis so no meals were taken in the hotel, however the prices at the hotel restaurant seemed similar to many of the other Amsterdam eating establishments.

We visited Amsterdam for 2 days. the location of the Hotel is ideal for a short visit. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and modern. Our room overlooked Dam square but was not too noisy. Free internet access in business center. Fitness room is nice but we did not have time to use it.

We really enjoyed our stay. They gave us an upgrade from the standard room and it was perfect. It was clean and comfortable. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Room srevice was very good too! Fantastic location!

hotel staff very friendly and room spacious and clean.however when we booked hotel through laterooms we were not aware that there would be an addtional charge of 9 euros per night- on top of the room rate already for european tax?!! so was a bit of a shock when we came to pay the bil in the hotel!
