This was our worst hotel experience yet! The pictures are very deceptive. The hotel is past its prime. It was very rundown. The ice machine was moldy. The odor of the room was terrible and the beds stunk. The towels and bed sheets were thin and yellowing. There was black stuff coming out of the faucet. The pool water was freezing. The walls were paper thin. Our room backed up to the back parking lot and there were "interesting" people coming and going all night. One had a stereo blasting and another kept blowing an air horn. When we woke up in the morning we found ants all over the night stand. Stay at your own risk.

I have spent many nights staying at this hotel over the years. I choose to stay here time and time again because it is very relaxing and the staff are a pleasure to deal with. It is always very nice and I have a great experience every time.

Went for Rockford Boys basketball tournament. Check out after the first night and went down the road to Alpine which was MUCH CLEANER. Sweden Lodge pictures are deceptive. Place is run down. Rooms are dark and old. No updates. There is NO GAME room even though they adverise it. My kids were bummed. Fitness room was out of order. The night we were there there was 10--15 teenagers hanging around in the back lot. Doors need paint. It reminds me of one of those Drug hotels in the movies. OWNERS don't understand that to bring in business you need to invest some . I will never stay there again! They have a salon on site and the waxing room has a grafitee (spelling?) sign on the door in side and outside. Looks lilke gang signs. This has to be the wors hotel in Rockford. Do NOT STAY THERE> DUMP DUMP DUMP!AND NOT SAFE! They have a TRIPLE AAA sign outside. SHOULD be a DDD sign.

Insufficient shallow end of pool. The swimming pool has a very small shallow end. I would guess that about three feet by twelve feet, if that. Practically as soon as you step off of the bottom step you are plunging into the deep end. This fact almost caused my 7 year old daughter to drown. There are no warnings or safety ropes to alert the guest of this fact. Even with no lifeguard and a swim at own risk policy, this is neglectful. It is for this reason that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling with young children.

I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel while I was in town visiting. The staff and service were impeccable. I thought the value for the quality of room was excellent.

This hotel was very disappointing! We were booked there for a conference and were given a smelly, old, thin mattress, 60's furniture room. After complaining, they moved us to an updated room, which was nice, but the overall facility was old and smelly - especially the pool! The front desk staff were rude. We were suppose to stay 3 nights, but checked out after 1!

The room that we were given smelled. We went to go open the window and after sliding open the window we realized that there was no screen to the window. Along with that once you let go of the window pane it fell in towards us. We also turned on the air conditioning without it ever getting cool in the room. For what we paid for the room we definitely did not get our money worth. Also the continental breakfast consisted of instant oatmeal and bagels.

It was a nice stop with my 87 year old mother. Our adjoining rooms were quiet, clean, and accessible. Cute little breakfast room.

I had a very pleasant stay here with my husband over the weekend. We were traveling and decided to stop along our way. The hotel was very accomodating and the staff was excellent.l

We were a little worried as we pulled up because the hotel seemed old, but were glad when we got in the room. The interior has been re-done and is cute with the Swedish charm. Rooms were good size and clean. Only complaints is the mattress was too firm and the shower head was like a fire hose (which they hopefully fixed). Continental breakfast was just okay and unfortunately no Swedish Pancakes. ;^)
