Too far to walk to downtown - about 2 kms, but clean and quiet place otherwise. Breakfast not bad with bagels, donuts, muffins, cereal and fruit.

Over all, our experience was positive. The hotel accommodations for the price were a good value with one exception. The hotel had a restaurant inside, and all of the cooking odors went into all of the rooms. We were on the third floor and could smell the bacon, burgers, fries, and onions in our room whenever they cooked. The hotel lobby and stairwell were especially odorous. We are not sure if they had a proper vent system. The room service was adequate, but could be improved with more detail spent on cleaning. The complementary breakfast was excellent!

Noisy location, building is older wood-frame and you can hear neighboring suites clearly. Even though it was a non-smoking room we could still smell smoke.

Local to attractions, clean and friendly. The pub was not open. The room was great, would of liked to have known that the pub/restaurant was not open considering that was part of the reason we booked it.

We booked our stay at the Super 8 on Douglas Street in Victoria, knowing nothing about where it was located or where exactly we would be visiting and it turned out to be perfect. The hotel was located in the center of our activities, easy to locate, somewhat difficult to access. The staff was extremely friendly, greeted me by first name upon my return to the hotel from dinner across town. The Continental Breakfast was extremely lavish with lots of choices, including fruit, danishes, toast, cereal (hot and cold), tea, coffee, juices, etc. Our room was very clean, but the view outside our window was less than exciting, although it did look out over the parking lot. The prices were reasonable and in view of other choices I had previously reviewed, they were very good. Should we ever be in Victoria again, we would certainly stay at this hotel.

After reading the above review I booked. The carpet in the room was filthy. The maid service very poor. The 60's resteraunt was awful. Service bad. The price for the room condition was way to high. The eating area (pub) was good service was great. Staff friendly. The only good thing was the front desk clerks.

The first impression at check-in was not customer friendly/oriented. Clerk was rude and curt when asked about hotel amenities! The reception lobby had and unclean odor, and there was some renovation in progress which may have contributed to the unpleasant smell- not at all customer friendly. The bedroom was okay, an improvement over the rest of the hotel. Would not recommend to other potential guests until the renovations are complete and management implements customer service training for all staff.

Liquour store within the hotel was convenient. Bathrooms are too small. The front desk staff was very understanding when we were faced with a CC with not enough room to put a $200 deposit on the card. The chambermaids are a little over zealous and came in to clean the room at 9am the next morning while we were still all crashed and didn't knock before entering? That is a first. Overall is wasn't too bad of an experience and having lived in Victoria we basically knew what we were in for when we rented the room. It was a girls weekend in Victoria and basically wanted the room to crash for the night.

The elevator was smaller than most hotel coat racks. The room a/c unit ran hard all night, but the heat from the hall and gap below the door neutralized its cooling affect. I later blocked the gap under the door with a pillow and towels. That worked well. The room was fine for the price. It was nice to have the mini fridge, microwave, coffee and toaster. We rode motorcycles and the desk staff let us park in the spaces by the front door. That was very nice.

The Super 8's room was nice but the traffic noice was bad. The elevator was very small and had a difficult time getting our luggage up to and from our room. The parking was not acceptable as it was away from the rooms. There was a divider on Douglas and we had a difficult time find where to turn around so we could enter the Motel entrance. The cafe that was opened until 2:00 PM was quite nice but the restaurant lounge was way over priced and I left hungry after spending $ 15.00 for my meal. When I go back to Victoria I will not be staying in this Motel.

Staff was friendly and courteous. I found this hotel to be easy to find in a great location. The hotel has tons of free parking and also has many amenities i.e. a bar, a pub, a restaurant and a liquor store. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quality hotel.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this hotel. Our room was clean and spacious. The price was low enough to fit in our budget. The proximity to downtown was excellent. Additionally, they had just finished construction on their latest restaurant, bringing the in-house restaurant total to three. There's a diner open for breakfast and lunch (they gave us a free breakfast there), a sports bar downstairs open in the evening (complete with card and pool tables), and now a fancier restaurant as well. This hotel is a good value for the money. We would definitely stay there again.

The staff member was friendly and always so helpful with directions to places to visit in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious room. The free internet service was a plus. The kitchenette was great, providing a refrigerator, sink, microwave, toaster and even flatware to use during our stay. There was workable counterspace to prepare a meal. I liked having a table in addition to a reading chair in the room. It was just a very short drive to downtown Victoria. My family and I all enjoyed our stay at Super 8 in Victoria, BC.

The staff was very friendly and my experience in this hotel was a good souvenir. The breakfast room would be better at the level of equipment. This hotel is at a good location and it has a good level of comfort. If I should come back in Victoria I will come back in this hotel.

Honestly, I wasn't there long enough to give an in-deph review. I came for a musical event and only slept at the hotel. This is why I can't comment on the dining or the pool, etc. But the clerk was very friendly, and the room was fine, with everything in order.

Convenient location. Elevator was very slow. Hotel was convenient and priced right for the location.

Quiet and comfortable. Reasonably close to downtown. No bar/restaurant at 11:30 pm on a weds night. Had to go to Denny¿s. A great place for budget travelers/show goers. I'd recommend bringing a bicycle. Would stay again.
