The room was small but clean and although the hotel is old, staff was very friendly and good at comments on the local neighborhood. Free Breakfast is included (continental with cereal available). Close to Union Square and great shopping area. For the money the Hotel was average but less expensive than almost ALL others in the area.

The staff were very obliging. Rooms were very small and fittings old - especially floor coverings. For a short stay it was satisfactory. Perhaps could get better quality for same money.

I pretty much knew that the price wouldn't get me anything fancy in this area. It was well worth saving 20-40 bucks for a night for other hotels within blocks.

Economic and conveniently located. Good staff. Breakfast room had fruit flies. Quality of breakfast food needs improvement. The room is charming because of its architecture - early 20th century. I stayed on the fifth floor and liked the ability to open the windows to let the fresh air in. Because of its location, the hotel can be noisy at night and although the hotel is cheap, the parking fees are not. It's approximately $20 a day for parking; the upside is that you get unlimited valet service.

Great location in SF; the hotel was within walking distance to just about everything. There was an initial problem with the room. The power went out twice and after the second time, the hotel staff moved me to a different upgraded room which was wonderful!
