This place was nasty. I had read a site where 17 reviews gave this hotel a 4.5 star review. Those reviews had to have been made by family of the owner! Dirty floors, moldy bathroom, no hot water in the sink. The flip lock on the door was broken off on the door and door frame as if the door had been kicked in - the broken screws were sticking straight out. There was no fridge in our room so we asked to be moved and were told that they're really only in some rooms, not all. Our room didn't even have a hair dryer. When I called the front desk to ask about a hair dryer, iron and ironing board (all supposedly 'standard' in each room), we were told that we could come to the front desk and get them but they don't send housekeeping because they only have one woman who does the cleaning. The 'free breakfast' consisted of soft apples and hard mini bagels. Coffee machine was broken. Cereal, but they had no milk. This place was tolerable for two adults for one night, but I would never take kids here - it's kind of a scary place.

The room at the Super 8 in Troy was a good value for the money. I had a queen sized smoking room that was large enough for a table and chairs as well as a refrigerator and microwave. I thought it strange there was no coffeemaker,not even a small one. The proximity to the highway made a convenient but noisy place to stay. The wireless connection was excellent. However, the towels and other linens were as rough as sand paper. Overall, I was satisfied given that i was travelling on a budget.

Price & desk clerk was friendly. The bedding (sheets) was terrible. My room was designated non-smoking but my bedspread & sheet had a large cigarette burn hole in each. It left me with the impression the bedding had not been changed!
