The hotel itself needs repair;concrete in many areas looked as though it was going to fall. We requested smoking-they said our reservation was for non. Being a holiday weekend, they couldn't give us another room but were very pleasant. There was a plexiglass pane at the pool that was shattered-spidery-should have either been removed or repaired. The pool was cloudy and felt a little slimy and had a lot of bugs in the water. One of the other guests said it was because the hotel was trying a new method-salt water, no chlorine...The room we had was very clean, very sound-proof, quite comfortable but very old carpet. The hotel parking was atrocious!!!! Narrowest spaces you will EVER see and VERY difficult to manuever in. On the bright side, the staff was very attentive to whatever need we had-other than the smoking thing. The Ocean Deck restaurant and lounge was right next door. Mostly a younger crowd 4th of July weekend, but music, drinking and eating--all very nice. Within walking distance to a lot of shops, the boardwalk, etc. With our door closed, you couldn't hear a thing-nothing to disturb if you want to stay in the room. We would go back, but wish the pool was cleaner-our biggest complaint other than the parking. Very nice for the price. Would give it a 3.5.

The only nice thing I can say about this hotel is that it is on the beach. It is old, rundown, and filthy. The rug and bedspreads were dirty and stained, the walls were so thin we could hear our very loud neighbors next door. " Breakfast included" consisted of a coffee machinem, juicemachine and prepackaged bagels. Our room was facing a restaurant (50 feet away) that was promoting "Verizon", they had a beach party all weekend which included loud hard rock music that played until midnight each night,To add insult to injury "Verizon" parked their large tour bus in the restaurant parking lot all weekend and ran the motor day and night.

The hotel staff were AWESOME. The room looked right out to the ocean. Parking was tight. But, we were able to park and walk to where we wanted to go. It was well worth what we paid for the room. I would definitely go back and stay here.

The room was typical for a beach hotel. The deadbolt was broken and we didn't get washclothes. The manager seemed to be mean to her staff.

Only the location. Toilet broken. Reported but did not fix. Air Conditioner made loud noise. No viable parking. Could not get toilet fixed. It ran the full two days. Left after only two days. Could not take it for 3 days. No places to eat within walking distance except Wendy's. The only good thing about it was its location (right on the beach) and nice swimming pool.

1st off, we love daytona, we go there frequently..This was our first time stay in @ the super 8 and it will be the last..the lady at the desk was beyond rude, she told my husband that she hated ppl. that made their reservations online (knowing we had used travel agency!!) Also there is no parking what so ever! and if you have a bigger vehicle (I have a suburban), forget getting in the parking that they do have...

Selected this hotel based on reviews and the fact it was just remodeled. BIG mistake. Not sure what was remodeled. Our group had 4 rooms and all of them had a musty, moldy, mildewy smell. Two of the rooms had something growing in the air conditioner vent. The carpets were dirty and turned everyone's socks black. The parking lot was extremely small and very difficult to maneuver around. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Spent 5 days in Daytona, just for much needed R&R, the pool or area around the pool was not cleaned until our 4th day Tues, and why then? I know, they had a health inspection on Wed, we were there to see this inspection take place, although I wanted to ask questions, I DID NOT!! The most helpful person on day shift was the man that cleaned the pool. And it was as though he was trying to do everything himself,he was a worker. We had to ask the staff to clean our room, and then they only brought us towels, so I asked for the vaccum and did it myself. Poor housekeeping skills.If you go, enjoy the Ocean the most pleasant views of the entire hotel site. Ocean Deck the best, and right next door. Night Auditor was very helpful and informative, Kudos to him.

Beachside, convenient to area attractions. Lack of available parking; Front Desk Agent not on property when I arrived to check-in. Motel very convenient to beach and area attractions including Ocean Center. I waited several minutes before a front desk agent appeared to process check-in. Overall, accommodations were decent, however, my room was in need of minor attention from both maintenance and housekeeping. A different front desk agent on duty, the morning of my check-out, was very accommodating in granting a late check-out. Polite attitude. Parking was very limited but this is understandable due to it having been a special event weekend and all area lodging at max occupancy. Beds were comfortable and I felt satisfied with the rate.

I can say I was really surprised to see what service I received when I stayed at the property. The woman at the front desk was very plesant and this place is right next door to our favorite place the Ocean Deck! I could not believe how close we were to everything. I almost did not stay here because of the reviews, but it was a great price. This place is definetly worth the money we paid. We looked right out of our window at the beach and our room was clean. My only complaint is I wish the rooms were bigger, but it had a mircrowave and refrigerator to keep our beer cool. We already booked our stay for Bike Week because they are only one block over from the festivities so we are totally set! They don't have elevators but it's only two floors so that was okay. I will stay here again.

Upon check-in, I initialled the box that stated I could ask for the safe fee to be deducted upon check-out. I knew I would forget, so I asked if it could be done now as we wouldn't need the safe. In the activity of check-out (scanning the room several times to make sure nothing was left behind). When I returned the pass keys, the person at the front desk pleasantly said that was it. I should've written myself a note and stuck it to the door. I don't like paying these charges for the safe.

We were very happy with the room. For 48.00 , we hd a room with a stove and fridge! A great central location. Literally on the beach, we walked everywhere. If you are looking for high end rooms, this is nt a place for you, but the convienience and friendly staff made up for it!

"Heat didn't work in first 2 rooms they put us in (coldest nights in FL in 5 yrs). Heat in 3rd room blew lots black particles onto our bed. 2nd room kitchen faucet didn't work at all. Curtain in 3rd room was 8 in. short of covering window, and had no coatrack. Couldn't close bathroom door w/toilet seat down. Parking is very tight. Staff friendly but no offers to accommodate or make up for all these problems. We travel over 180 days/year--this motel wins the award for most things going wrong in 2 days."

"I have stayed at this hotel before and it was ok, but since then they have made a lot of changes. There is brand new carpet in the rooms, they redid the whole breakfast area, brand new drapes and bedspreads. I was very pleased that they listened to their customers and updated so much. I will be back."
