Close to my place of visitation. Smelly room.

Staff was friendly and attentive. Beds were hard, lumpy and uncomfortable. Complimentary breakfast was limited to cereal, juice, coffee, and breads. No yougart, fresh fruit, etc.

It was priced right for what I needed. It was a super 8. Exactly what you would expect from a super 8 motel.

The Super 8 Mundelein was pretty much what you expect from an inexpensive chain - especially for the location and it was, we discovered very popular with drivers of long vehicles. The staff were polite and friendly and the rooms clean, although the toilet in one room ran water constantly. We reported the problem and it was repaired seemingly, but overnight it leaked and flooded the floor, which we reported again. Although there was a space for free breakfast, it consisted of three small tables and a sofa, and so was not capable of seating many people - we went to a diner next door instead. this was a good decision as Elly's Pancake house was wonderful - the crepes and freshly squeezed orange juice were worth the price of the breakfast. there was also a very nice wine shop in the vicinity with a wide inventory so we brought some 'souvenirs' home.

Nothing. Shabby, strong cigarette odor, complimentary breakfast ends too early @ 9am. Reservation system is very slow. Desk staff was not helpful. Rooms were shabby, furniture coming apart, and all hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. Although the room had a microwave, there were no cups to heat water or tea & coffee supplies. Complimentary breakfast (bread & dry cereal) was offered from 7-9am. After that, not even coffee was available. When on vacation, many people sleep until 9am, so the breakfast hours are not customer-friendly. Overall, this is a hotel to avoid.

The room was OK but on the second night there was a water leak from the bathroom above mine. There was evidence of a previous leak. Also on the second or third night I saw roaches in the room - since I was there only one more night I didn't leave immediately. There is a good breakfast resturant about 50 feet from the motel - don't order coffee they charge almost $2, and it's not Starbucks.
