Our stay at the Super 8 Motel in Milford, Connecticut was not the greatest hotel. The location was good because it was close to the mall and close to family that we were visiting. The other good thing about the hotel was that they made our bed and gave us fresh towels every day, however they did not tell us that they would be doing this when we checked in. When we arrived at our hotel on the second night the light that we had left on was turned off and our room key did not work which scared me since I did not know they had cleaned the room and we still had stuff inside. Our room key had to be reprogrammed three times because when we checked in they did not program it to work for the week that we stayed. After the third time, they finally got it right! That was the first nightmare, the second was the bed of rocks! The bed was so hard and uncomfortable that I woke up every day with a sore back which is not very pleasant for being 6 months pregnant! This is not a hotel I would recommend to anyone.

Dirty room, hard bed, broken TV, noisey AC. This 5 year old hotel was in the worst shape I have seen a hotel in a long time. The rating of this hotel should be placed below 0 stars.

Stay away from this place! We stayed to attend a family wedding. We did not book the room and didn't know where we were staying until we arrived in town. Instead of staying a second night after the wedding, we decided the four hour trip home was a better alternative. I wish we would have left sooner! The first room smelled like a burning carton of cigarettes. We were moved to a room that had crumbs in the bed and smelled like mold. Dust bunnies occupied the perimeter of the room and the bed and pillows were made of rocks. The door barely closed and locked. The peeling wallpaper was held up with staples. This is a stereotypical "mo-tell motel" that caters to those without luggage. The parking lot filled on Friday evening. The guests checking in carried no luggage but most had bags from the liqour store. The hotel bills itself as the "newest Super 8 in New England" and "in anticipation of your arrival, all rooms have been completely remolded." It can't imagine how bad the rest of the Super 8 motels could be in New England. If we knew the area better, we would have found another hotel even if it meant traveling 20 miles.

Closeness to all major stores and restaurants. Front desk did not tell us we had to check in the front desk with key code everyday.

Rude would be a compliment for the check in clerk. The first room was filthy, my second choice stunk from mold. The third room we were shown was bearable, only because it was too late to find somewhere else to stay. This one had a coffee machine with no pot; an ironing board with no iron; a dirty, falling apart hair dryer; a mush mash of wires plugged into a circuit breaker extension; mold around the shower and under the wallpaper that was peeling; a smoke detector hanging from its base in the ceiling; tv showed mostly green people when it had color; burnt out and very dull lightbulbs; on and on. If anyone doubts this, I took some pictures. If you see this place, while on the road, pull away fast!

The room was decent but the service was terrible. Me and my boyfriend made reservations two weeks in advance and we still had problems when we got there, there wasn't enough parking, we never got any new washcloths after the first night (even after several request), we found a used condom behind the dresser, and the cable was out for hours because of construction on the roof. We were suppose to stay three nights, with our last night in a jacuzzi room, but we were already fed up and the cable still wasn't working, so we checked out and went across the street to another hotel. If you are planning to stay more than one night, I suggest you check into one of the surrounding hotels.

The maid service was most excellent. Walls are thin. Great location. Excellent hotel staff. Beds very comfortable. Televisions need to be updated.

I was in two rooms because the first room's toilet did not work and we transferred to another room. Both rooms' showers were moldy. There was a mouse trap by the bed in the second room. This is a noisy place and clientele is questionable. Very loud ventilation in both rooms. Several other hotels nearby. Try one of them instead of this place.

Nothing. Unfriendly service. Clogged bathtubs. Smelly towels. Dirty toilets. I chose this motel mainly for the low price, but it turned out to be my biggest mistake. I've never met motel staff members (except the one African-American housekeeper) who were this unfriendly to their guests. It was as if they were collectively determined to drive their guests away and make sure they would never want to come back to this motel. When one of the guests complained about how the hot chocolate machine ran out of the hot chocolate, the receptionist did nothing about it but just stood there. I had to wait 6 hours for a roll of toilet paper to be delivered to my room. The bathtubs became clogged after each use and took 10-20 min for the water level to go down. The toilets were dirty and were leaking toilet water at the bottom onto the bathroom floor. And each time someone else in the bathroom on the other side of the wall flushed the toilet; my toilet water was either drained together or flooded with water. Bathroom towels and shower curtains smelled rotten. The shower curtain racks were so rusty that they practically looked red. The rooms smelled funny for the entire time we stayed there. There were no ceiling fans in the bathrooms either. I've never received more dirty looks and complaints from my family members about a motel in my life. Next time, I'd gladly pay much more and make sure I avoid this motel no matter what. If you love your family, don't take your family to this motel. This motel needs to overhaul its entire bathrooms and especially it's rude and unfriendly staff members.

The sparkling ceiling. The way the toilet flushed. The room was actually a lot nicer then we expected and the location was super.

Convenient location, economical. This hotel was perfect for me as I was just looking for a place to crash, late at night after a concert. The location was convenient and also only 5 minutes from the beach. The room was small but clean; nothing special. Could have used better pillows and fresher linens.
