Ok but would not recommend. Bathroom floor was sticky. Room was small. Room smelled of smoke. This hotel was not that clean. Room smelled of smoke so much I could hardly breath. Bathroom could be cleaner. Should offer some kind of fruit with their continental breakfast. Donuts were not good.

I have stayed in this motel twice, and the first time wasn?t too bad, but after this last time I will not be going back again. The rooms aren?t very clean and there are stains on the walls. When I asked the employee at the desk for a rollaway bed, he told me the only ones they had available all had ?pee crystals? on them. The kinds of guests who stay in this motel are all either college students who stay up all night talking (this is one of the cheapest and closest motels to EIU), or people who need to sleep all night and wake up at 5 am (even on Saturday mornings) and constantly complain about the noises. This results in everyone in the motel hating each other and a very unpleasant environment. The walls are also so thin that you can hear everyone?s phones ringing and alarm clocks going off in the mornings. My final complaint is about the general manager of this motel. She checked me out of my room in the morning and was probably the most unpleasant part of my one-night stay. If you have any small complaints or questions (such as, ?Can I please have my receipt??), she will completely blow them out of proportion and make a big dramatic fuss. She was extremely rude to me and very unprofessional. This motel would be fine for a person who just needed somewhere to crash in the morning or during the day, but if you plan on being in your motel room at night between 10 pm and 5 am, it would definitely be a better deal if you stayed at one of the motels down the street even if they cost more.

This is not a hotel you would stay at if you are looking for luxury. We used this hotel in a manual work enviroment. They were VERY accomodating and helpful in every way. If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel this would be your choice.

Convenient & available. Night staff was less than helpful and did not communicate well. Room was clean and comfortable, lobby was cluttered. Location and quality is better than expected for a one star rating. We were charged a $1.50, fro "incidentals" which was not adequately explained.

It was clean and well kept. Over priced. This hotel is convenient to both Mattoon and Charleston, but it can be hard to get to if you do not watch the roads carefully. There are a lot of good places to eat nearby and a movie theatre is 2 miles east of the hotel.

It had windows. Bad bed, detergent smells very strong in room. Very uncomfortable bed, shaped more like a nest than a flat bed, sound carried well through building, overall an unpleasant stay.

Location. Lobby smelled antiseptic smoke. Although in a good location and the staff was helpful, much of the lobby/hall ways/room smelled as if someone had tried to scrub the smoke smell away but could only get through the first few layers of grime.

It was very clean and very pleasant stay. No pool. A very friendly staff, We just spent one night on our way back from North Carolina and stayed in 6 different motels and this one would be at the top of the list. We were pleasantly surprised. Thanks.

The room was basic, but clean and well appointed and good amenities (coffeemaker, microwave, etc). Good value for the money. The room was basic but very clean and provided some amenities (coffeemaker, microwave, AC, etc.). The staff was friendly and helpful. Well located with restaurants and shopping nearby.

Close to Interstate, restaurants, and businesses. Small bathrooms, poor lighting. I saw a small placard on the nightstand with the price of all the hotels goods. I felt like they were accusing me of being a thief before I got settled in.

The Front desk people are very friendly and cooperative all time. They don't clean up room daily and they don't give body lotion.

Clean bathrooms, and nice clean rooms of most rooms I visited. Smokers' room. Requested nonsmoking. Unable to open windows, so very smelly. Even pillows smelled of smoke. Stuffy! I liked the hotel, location, lobby with free continental breakfast, free newspapers, and free use of computer. There were several nearby shops and restaurants. Perfect location for attending State Track Meet in Charleston IL.

The person checking us in was welcoming and took time to make sure the welcome area was clean. The cob webs in the room. For the short amount of time we spent there, The accommodations and location were great.
