This hotel was very basic. It was very affordable, so I wasn't really expecting much. The breakfast left something to be desired (more food). Additionally, our key cards never worked. But if you are looking to do hikes/rafting in the area, this is an affordable option for a place to sleep.

Management was friendly. Staff was friendly. Continental breakfast was a joke. One morning, there was a banana, but it was over-ripe. Standard coffee/tea.

This motel was extremely clean compared to others that I have stayed at. The manager was very friendly and helpful with directions, restaurant options, and scenic attractions. The breakfast had a plethora of items to choose from which was great. I'll admit that I was hesitant to stay here after a review I read on this site. However, I decided to give it a try since a friend had recommended it and I am glad I did! I will definitely be staying here again! p.s.- the manager IS american... My definition of american is anyone who is an american citizen. I hate when people post inaccurate reviews with generalities. If it hadn't been for my friend, I would have missed out on this great find. Like I mentioned before, I will definitely be booking here again. I had a great experience and the price was very reasonable.

Owner/operator (non-American) refused to honor the booking price eventhough the corporation confirmed that the price was correct. She had to call, because the hotel does not have a computer. She was caught in a lie and still refused to adjust the price. Non-smoking room smelled heavily of smoke. Largely because the bathroom in the vent is connected to smoking rooms. The condition of the bed was highly questionable. Hotel is located directly next to a power transfer station. They are few restaraunts nearby. Do yourself a favor and stay in Johnson City or Asheville. Avoid this hotel and stay in your car if you can not afford better.

The staff was accommodating. Dirty. When I walked in it smelled. The carpet was so dirty that I didn't walk on it without shoes nor sit in any of the chairs. The sheet had a stain on it. We checked out the next day.
