Our check-in was great - especially at 1 a.m.. [...] was fantastic to deal with. This hotel is clean and tidy. It has a new gym room (quite small) and a guest laundry. If you're using the laundry there is no detergent for sale.The building is quite old but the rooms are well kept, clean and tidy. It is located about a 2 minute walk from the ferry/bus terminal that will get you to Halifax (10 minute ferry) or Fisherman's Cove (about 30 minutes on bus #60). The information desk at the ferry terminal is new. We dealt with [...] and she was excellent - knowledgeable, friendly, down to earth and went above and beyond to help us get to do what we wanted.This hotel was about the same standard as a Holiday Inn Express although the breakfast did not have anything hot (other then toast, bagels, tea, coffee and ht chocolate).Most of the staff were friendly, polite, courteous and out to help you any way they could. I had a run in with the cleaning lady on the first day - but that was dealt with professionally by the hotel and no other problems were encountered.Check out was just as smooth. Again with [...] and again at an extremely early time.We found the local taxi service and airport services and staff to be friendly and informative.

I don't know why some of the ratings state bad reviews. Of course its not a 5 star hotel, no concierge or room service, but it is not a run down motel. I was expecting the worse with some of the reviews but I enjoyed my stay. Nice helpful 24 hour staff. It has a very nice view of, and is just a stone throw to, the halifax-dartmouth river which makes it easy to catch the ferry to the halifax area. The area around is like most downtown areas - old. Advice is to book online, cos u get better deals than the front desk. I had to extend my stay and did not regret it!!!

TV & bed were nice. Cold showers, dusty, dungeon inconvenient parking. 2 mornings of absolutely fridge showers. TV and bed were nice. Need ext. Cord to use computer desk. Non-smoking facility, even on balconies. Breakfast was minimal. Parking was awkward and in the dregs and costs $7.00 per night. I would not stay again.

Very friendly front desk staff. It is located on a hill and the parking away from the hotel in a gravel lot. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The rate was satisfactory.

Overall this hotel was nice, room size is nice and we had an outdoor balcony. The parking situation is this, it is NOT FREE. You have to pay to park.
