I have used Orbitz in the past for Hotel reservations, flights & car rentals. I have never had a problem until now!!I booked two rooms at the Super 8 Motel in Creswell, Oregon. My husbands 76 year old aunt and uncle were coming to Oregon to see their granddaughter's High School graduation. We decided to meet half way to have some time to visit with them while they were in Oregon. I was checking rates and motels near Eugene to find somewhere for both parties to stay. I found Orbitz price the best for what I was looking for and booked it. When I got my confirmation I saw it said smoking. I did NOT want smoking and called customer service immediately.I explained to him the situation and wanted to know how I could change this. He said there would be an additional charge of $9.00 to make the change. He put me on hold while he contacted the Super 8.He came back and asked me for my credit card number, which I gave to him. Again he put me on hold.When he returned he assured me the changes were made and I would get non smoking rooms.On May 28th we arrived at Creswell'sSuper 8. A young man advised me the other party had arrived and proceeded to check us in. At some point t it was apparent we had 2 SMOKING ROOMS. I informed him that this was suppose to be changed. He said no one EVER contacted them and that you are STUCK with what you get with ORBITZ and I should NEVER use THOSE kind of Internet sites because you don't know what you will end up with. That Orbitz is KNOWN for over booking and these type of problems. That I should only deal with the motels directly.I spoke with my aunt and she said that she tried to get a non smoking room and offered to pay for the upgrade. They told her she couldn't...they were STUCK with what they got. This motel was not close to being booked full on a Thursday night. For whatever reason they were not going to accommodate us in anyway. The bottom line is ...someone is lying!!!!Did the customer service rep at Orbitz lie????????????????????Was t

Close to freeway, close to destination. Hotel is showing its age. Beds poorly made. This hotel did not live up to the standard that I remember Best Western to have been. The bed clothes did not stay tucked in. Although there was the appearance of being clean the bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke and corners dungy. This seems to be the standard at most hotels today.
