Good building, calm safe location, it is in the course of being updated but perhaps the updating had not reached our room. Tired, worn but serviceable furniture. Rather dim lighting. No hair dryer, ironing board or iron. No mini-fridge or microwave. Tiny, one-cup coffeemaker. Clean. The free high-speed Internet worked well. Good value for the money, we paid $121.06 all up for two nights, prepaid, nonrefundable. If traveling on a budget we'd stay there again.

Not one thing other than location. Filthy and disgusting. I will never stay in another Super 8 after this last visit.Stains on mattress, filthy bathroom, moldings coming off the wall, etc. Just a totally bad experience.

If you are looking for nice accomodations, this is not the place. However, if you are staying at a Super 8 in the first place, most likely you are a budget traveler. This location is a 10 minute drive from the University of Virginia and has many restaurants within a short drive. It had good rates and relatively clean rooms

This hotel was a good choice! Items of decor did not match (i.e. curtains and bedspread), but I wasn't too interested in the decor. The bed was comfy and I got a good night's sleep prior to going to a conference at UVA. What really impressed me was the cleanliness! The tub was clean, as was the rest of the bathroom, and the sheets and blankets were fresh and crisp. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cereal, donuts, juice, and coffee, all of which which was fresh and plenty available. I'd stay here again!

Yeah, it's a Super 8. But for the money, I expected a little more. The elevator smelled like stale cigarette smoke, and the hallways did sometimes too. The room -- nonsmoking -- did not smell, thankfully. The laminated furniture was falling apart, but the A/C worked and the TV was pretty good. There is no refrigerator or microwave, but there is an iron and hairdryer. It was okay, but I would have spent an extra $20 to stay somewhere nicer. Or stayed somewhere equivalent for less money.

I liked that it was quiet and no one bothered me. Although it was pretty clean, it did not look clean or appealing.

The room was not very big, and the beds were sloped towards the middle. But the staff was friendly enough and there were no obvious cleanliness issues. It was the best price in town on the online travel website and I would stay there again.

Where to begin? Couldn't get the room door to work then was told that they put the door knob on backwards on our room! Once in the room the door knob fell off and we couldn't get out of the room. There was four of us (which they knew this as we had a reservation already) yet there was only two towels and one washcloth. Sheets and blankets on the beds had several holes in them. Pillows had the holes with the stuffing coming out. Walls in room and bath were very dirty with big black marks all over them. We loved Charlottesville, but we will never stay at any Super 8 motel again!

The hotel is convenient to UVa (just a couple of miles north). The only issue my friend and I had was the fact that one of the blankets on the bed has burn holes despite the fact that the room was non-smoking. It is in no way a fancy place but the water was hot and the price was right.

Nothing. This hotel needs to be torn down and recreated. Super 8 needs to come back to reality. It is time to bring some of their hotels back up to modern day standards and meet the quality and expectations of its customers.

I was in Charlottesville, Virginia, on business. I had read mixed reviews online, but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is undergoing rennovations, but this did not cause any inconveniences during my 2 day stay. The staff was more than helpful, a sufficient breakfast was available, and the rooms had a new TV and new, comfortable mattresses. I can't wait to come back after the rennovations are complete, I'm sure it'll be 10x better!

Overall it was very good and no complaints.

Hotel was clean, provided hairdryer, shampoo, fresh sheets smelled like bleach had been used to sterilize. Provided continental breakfast in am. I will go back for the great service and price.

It appears that updates are being made but the room had not been vacuumed and there was what appeared to be bits of stryofoam on the floor everywhere...elevator, lobby, room. The sink and toilet leaked and the desk chair was broken. The mattress was fairly new looking but the sheets did not fit. As for security, the outside door had a sign stating that is remains locked for safety but it was not locked. My boyfriend saw shady looking characters hanging around by the soda/ice machines and would not let me walk around the hotel alone. I guess for the price, it was okay but we will not stay there again without looking at a room.

The staff was fine. Even though I was in the non-smoking area, the room smelled of smoke. It didn't look like any of the surfaces had been cleaned, and there were clothes from previous guests behind some of the furniture that I saw when I went to plug in my cell phone charger. The towels were stained, and, didn't even get replenished when the room came to be cleaned. I had made reservations for the same place in two weeks, and immediately made other reservations when I got home. This is the cheapest room in town from my searches, and unless you have any other options, you'll regret not having shelled out a few more bucks for a cleaner room.

Great location - close to all attractions. The smell of the rooms. Basic hotel - okay for the price.

Shabby, Dirty, probably the worst hotel in Charlottesville. I made my reservation based on the online description, which didn't seem so bad. I changed my mind about staying from the moment I drove in the parking lot. The hotel and online travel website refused me any refund. I finally negotiated a two night refund (I had reserved 3 nights) and online travel website gave me a * travel voucher for my next trip. The hotel lets pets stay in the rooms for an extra fee. I watched two old ladies haul their long haired Himalayan cats into the hotel with them.

We came to town to see Springsteen perform at the John Paul Jones Arena. The hotel's location was great -- just a mile or so up the road from the venue -- and the price was right. We didn't need any frills...just a clean room and bed to sleep in after the concert before returning home the next day. Still, we were not impressed. Check-in was slow, the pillows were really lumpy (really uncomfortable) and our phone was dead. It wouldn't have taken much to have improved our experience.

Inexpensive. We could hear the noise in the parking lot from our 3rd floor room. The price equaled the quality we expected. Overall,we recommend this hotel for short visits.

We were just passing thought. The motel was a typical of an older motel. Needs some upgrading.
