The bedding needs to be updated. The TV didn't work properly. The hair dryer over heated. The breakfast was not very good. I've stayed in better Super 8's for less money.

It was clean. It was old. It is old and out dated, but it was clean, we had a problem with the shower in our room, but we were promptly moved to a new room.

upon arrival, was at first happy because it was downstairs rm..Then when we walked in was almost knocked over by the smell of cig. smoke, it was awful. i had requested non- smoking. we used the commode and it almost overflowed upon arrival, called the office and also told them about the cig. smoke. She said i will send over deodorizer and someone to fix the commode. they did come immed.. Stated you must wait several mins. before someelse uses it as it takes a long time to fill up. He had no deodirizer with him. I called office again asking if we could please change rooms because of cig. smoke. and also chance we have problems again with commode. the next thing i know manager is at door with a very grouchy demeanor. He said'you get this rm. at a cheap rate, so you get what you get!!! ALSO HE SAID I REQUESTED ONE ADULT ONLY AND OF COURSE THERE WERE 3 OF US SITTING THERE. I told him that i requested rm for 3 and he acted like I was lying.....I asked him again if we could please have a non-smoking rm.,, he said , no. So this was not a very pleasant experience for us. The lady at the front desk was nice though....

We went to NC to visit family and stayed at the Super 8 for a week. I had accidentally left my purse with all my makeup and perfume in it (Over * worth). WE checked out on Saturday, I called Sunday, they told me they had my purse and would put it on hold and I could mail a prepaid box to them and they will mail it back. I recieved my package and was missing OVER * dollars worth of my makeup. I am a single mom and that is the only thing I treat myself to. I understand policies of not being responsible for other peoples belongings but I left that stuff in the managers hands to watch and things were still missing. The manager was rude, hung up on me repeatly. Would not speak to me and refuses to give me the number to the corporate office! I will NEVER do business here again and suggest everyone else the same.

Overall I would have no problem sugesting this place to a firend traveling by himself. Overall the room was confortable and very clean. There was some peeling wall paper which didn't convern me but my wife wouldn't have cared for it. The staff was great, polite and friendly. I think it would have been nice to have some additional area info in the room - things like nearest grocer, pharmacy, gasoline station and the like.

The nearby mountain stream and town, plus management. Drain slow to drain in shower, but not reported. Clean, close to restaurants, quiet, peaceful.

I thought it was a fantastic value for my trip. Not a Weston but I knew that. The room was a bit worn however, quite clean and comfortable. I'm going to stay there again.

The Super 8 Black Mountain was the worst motel I have ever stayed in. We should have known when we drove up and saw people with the doors to their room left open. Upon entering the room it smelled like the carpeting was wet and the door was left closed causing all kinds of allergens. It appeared the room had not been updated since it opened, which was a long time ago. My wife would not sleep under the covers and we tried to see if their were other rooms available in Black Mountain but due to the 2 large festivals nothing was to be had. It also appeared to be a motel that was used for low income housing. Needless to say my stay there was the most unpleasant night I have ever had away from home.

No coffee pot in the room! I don't really have anything to say the desk clerk was not that friendly when we checked in.

I mean it too, even though the place smelled like someone had a dog in there. The beds were broken down, the shower was stained, the furniture was old, the sheets didn't fit on the bed, the carpet was SOAKING wet because the air conditioner was leeking, the pool was dirty and the motel is near train tracks. The motel owner insisted that there was not another room available, even though we arrived well ahead of anyone else. I asked for an upper room when we arrived and were refused, and when we realized just how nasty the room was, (when my husband stepped onto the carpet near the air conditoner and found his socks were soaked with a nasty brownish fluid) they would not change our room insisting that they were booked full! To add to it all, we saw a huge BLACK WIDDOW SPIDER just too close to our room door!!!

The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The evening staff was not very friendly or helpful, but other staff we encountered was very nice. The lady at the desk was not very friendly, and she seemed to dismiss me after giving me my key card. She was never rude, just not very friendly. Fortunately, we found the room to be clean and roomy. This is an older hotel, but I liked the stenciled beams on the ceiling, and the sofa in the room. Some effort was made to make the room attractive. There was a refrigerator and coffee pot in the room, which was a plus. The bed was comfortable, but if you like a lot of pillows, you might want to bring your own. The complimentary breakfast is served from 6 am-9 am, so we skipped it and grabbed breakfast at Denny's down the road. The morning staff, and the housekeeping staff was courteous and friendly. Overall, I am pleased with the stay, and would stay there again, only next time.

Nice classic motel with diner located just across a walking bridge over a beatiful mountain creek. Super clean place, a little dated but clean and everything works.

When I checked in I asked them for a ground floor since I had knee surgery 3 months ago and it was very trying for me to climb stairs. I asked them to please give me a ground floor room. They told me they only had six rooms left for that weekend. I strugled for three days up and down to my room and it was no fun. Since me and my wife were tired we didn't argue. We just wanted to take a shower and rest. In summation we had a good time in the area and a painful stay at the hotel.

It was cheap and close to town. Mold in coffee maker, air conditioner problems, smell of cigarettes. I don't have major complaints. I wanted a cheap place to stay while I visited Black Mountain. It was cheap, comfortable, convenient, and I felt reasonably safe (traveling alone). Staff was very friendly. The only problems (which would not necessarily prevent me from staying there again) were: 1) There was mold growing in the coffee maker! Since coffee was provided as part of the free breakfast, I didn't use the moldy coffee maker in the room. 2) The air conditioner froze up several times, and I had to turn it off for a while before it would work again. 3) I asked for a non smoking room, and this room smelled a little like stale cigarette smoke. It wasn't awful, just noticeable.

The desk clerk who checked me in and out was the nicest young woman I've ever had the pleasure to deal with. The room was comfortable if a bit dated but the service made it practically a penthouse. The desk clerk recommended a restaurant within walking distance and I had the best chicken and dumplings I've ever had! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Friendly desk clerk, comfortable beds. The toilet did not flush well. It was clean, comfortable and affordable. It was located close to restaurants and business area.
