The constant noise from the power plant across the street was annoying. Had I had a room on the other side of the building, this probably would not have been the case. Do also not like the polyester blend loosely fitting bedding.

Hotel staff greeted us in a friendly manner upon arrival. Our room was clean, and we were happy with the central location of the property. We had a nice view of Lake Superior. We had the pool--which was clean and large--to ourselves. We were visiting my niece, who attends college in Ashland, so we didn't spend much time in our room. This was my second stay, and I will definitely stay here again. Nice breakfast available. Hard-boiled eggs, donuts, cold cereal or hot oatmeal, toast, milk and juice are among the offerings in their complimentary breakfast near the lobby.

Miss leading of a whirlpool in room. Was mislead regarding whirlpool in room. I will never go back there.

The Super 8 in Ashland was easy to find and although there were no dining facilities in the hotel, there were options nearby. Our non-smoking room was on the second floor and the room and hallway still had that stale smoke smell from previous years of smoking being allowed. The pool was freezing cold (I had been warned of this by a co-worker who stayed there a year ago) and the hot tub was about the temperature of luke-warm bath water. The jets worked intermittently. The hotel staff appeared matter of fact about it when another guest complained, as if this was how the amenities are.

I liked the free wireless internet service. I felt the staff could have cared less if they had any guests.

This motel is exactly what you would expect for the price. It is a good value for the area. Whether staying in the area for awhile or just passing through, you will find this a friendly, clean place to stay.

Helpful staff. Room carpet very dirty as shown on soles of socks. This hotel was fine for what it is. Thank goodness the beautiful Lake Superior is across the street! It was definitely economy, not pristine for cleanliness and had adequate morning breakfast bar items. It was a place to leave in the morning and come back to in the night.

It was nice last year when we went there. This year it was dirty and had bugs. The continental breakfast. The bugs. The dirty furniture. This hotel was nice last year when we stayed. I was glad. The hotel was not worth the price.

Did not like it. The room was not comfortable, the linens were wrinkled and were of questionable cleanliness, the breakfast was not tasty and difficult to navigate. Very disappointing. I have stayed in Super 8 hotels before and this one did not meet the standard I have come to expect.

Nothing. Trashcans were not emptied, dirty windows, ice and vending machines were not convenient. Did not enjoy the night, poor location next to busy street, could not see lake only peoples back yards. Would not stay there again. Barley a 1 star!

The staff was nice and took care of what we needed. The room smelled terrible and we couldn't open the window de to a bird's nest. The rooms smelled terrible and there was no elevator to get your luggage to the room, it was also on Lake Superior but no rooms really had a lake view.

The staff was very accommodating with directions to sites. There is a pool and a free breakfast. No pets - offer boarding for overnight if people come in with pets. It is a standard economy hotel. The room was quiet and comfortable. The free breakfast was minimal but adequate. There is a pool. The towels and toilet paper were of low quality. The hotel is near Lake Superior and near the town center. It's adequate hotel for a budget trip. The staff was very helpful.

That the rooms with king beds have refrigerator included. For their continental breakfast, they never serve bread for toast. Great stay for your money.

Location. Musty smoky smell in nonsmoking room and very small hot tub with temp way too high. It was overpriced and of poor quality and unfortunately, there is only one other hotel in town that is part of a well known chain. The hot tub was too hot; the staff who initially greeted us was ill-trained and brusque, in a location where the views could have been great if the building was situated better. I would not stay there again.

I liked the location near Lake Superior. Overall, this was your average Super 8. I had to call a manager to fix that issue. At check out, the desk associate wanted my credit card to charge the room and when I told her it was already paid for she claimed it wasn't so a manager had to be called in

The location. Internet access broken, front desk clerks clueless as to how to fix it. The staff were friendly, but unable to give an answer about late check out options, or how to fix Internet access in the rooms, or in the business center.
