Staff were friendly, room was convenient to parking, shower was relaxing, breakfast could have had some fresh fruit but was adequate all the same

Inexpensive. Cockroaches in my bed. The room I was in should be fumigated. I had cock roaches in my bed. The swimming pool had not been opened for the season and had green water with scum on it. The wireless Internet did not work on my first night of my 3 night stay. The cleaning staff should clean behind the bed.

Filthy room and bed was nothing I would sleep on. I went to another hotel and checked in rather than sleep in the bed. bathroom was disgusting. Less than a one star hotel. the front desk staff were nice.

Never ever again. The lights in the bathroom didnt work, ABSOLUTELY no water pressure. No hot water. Had to take cold shower. FILTHY NASTINESS! Mini fridge in room STUNK and was covered in sour food in the bottom. TV had bad reception. Pool was covered in grease. Mustve been a family reunion party going on in the pool and went well into the wee hours of the morning. VERY OVERCROWDED! A noisy, free-for-all craziness happening hotel/pool wide. Complaining was a waste of time. People live there. People had their room chairs positioned out on the passageways in front of their rooms like a porch for hanging out. Staff was rude and hardly spoke english. Ashland is a strange place. Ashland is like a twilight zone. People are rude. I will never return.

I don't travel often so I was very surprised to find that the room has a microwave and a fridge. As well as a blow dryer and a coffee maker. We did not use the pool but saw that it was open for use. I was disappointed with breakfast: no juices:and limited muffins. Near lots of fast food places and other dining options. Also a Rite Aid was close by.

Decent location. Service was poor - staff doesn't care to customer needs - many things broken i.e ice machine, and TV.

It was clean and provided ample towels, coffee, two beds, a small table and a comfortable chair to sit at it. I slept comfortably and got a good basic breakfast---cereal and milk, two kinds of juice, two kinds of minimuffins, doughnuts, coffee, toast and jelly. It is located behind the Days Inn, not on the street, so it was a bit confusing to find the first night. The staff was not particularly friendly. Overall, it was what I needed. It provided the basics well without killing my bank account.

room was dirty and had mechanical problems when we checked in..some of the mechanical problems was fixed the next day,but the room was not cleaned even after i told the front desk and showed them pictures of how the room was when i checked in the night before.we were gone all day to go to the amusement park so the cleaning staff had enought time to clean it up.talked to the manager that night and had to get him to come to the room to see how it was because he did not believe me when i showed him the pictues.after a little discussion he seemed like he became agitated because i was mad at the condition of the room and told us in an agitated state that if this didn't suit us we could check out nad he would refund our money..suffice to say i left the hotel at 11:00 pm at night because of this.

The Super 8 hotel in Ashland was among the filthiest I have ever stayed at. The room's front door had light coming through. The carpet is so dirty one can't tell what color it was so I needed to keep my shoes on at all times. The blankets were tattered army green polyester. I slept fully clothed on top because of the quality of the bed. By far the worst aspect of the hotel was the bathroom. The white tile floor was dirty and in disrepair and the moldings were missing. Plain and simple, it was too dirty to take a shower. Lastly, when I went to the front desk and asked about breakfast one man looked at me and said there was none. I went back again and a second man said that was not true and showed me the area where the food was. The average guest would not know to look there and there was no sign to indicate where it was located. If I were asked by anyone whether they should stay at a Super 8, I would strongly warn them against it. If it had not been midnight at check in, I would have definately checked out. Super 8 should think twice about having that name on this hotel unless they are all like that. I won't revisit a Super 8 again. Please note, I am not very picky about discount hotels as long as they are clean and friendly, this was not.

Price was good. Leaking toilet, needed new seal. Door card to lock and unlock. It is fine for an older hotel, beds were good pillows need to be replaced, glad I took my own. Skimpy on towels.

It was a race weekend in Richmond and we expected it to be crowded, but there were people hanging out everywhere and on the balconies and it was still only a little after 9:00pm. The front desk clerk / manager checking us in said "they should all be drunk soon and then they'll go to bed". It didn't look too bad so we went to our room, but about 20 feet from our door there was a party going on with about 10 people and a grill / cooler set up outside the adjacent room. We were definitely not comfortable with that so we asked for another room. The clerk was accommodating and provided us to a key to another room that was a smoking room. When I asked if it was clean, he suggested that we could buy some spray at the local wal-mart or he could send housekeeping down. Willing to give it a shot, we went to the room and yes, smoke smell covered by febreze. Additionally, the room was dirty, with grime in the bathroom and on all of the light-switches. There were also 2 or 3 gum spots or other unclean areas on the floor. We left and took the floor on my cousin's house instead!!!! Inexpensive should not mean dirty! Especially for a large chain such as this.

When we first arrived i was pleased with the service I received. We liked the hotel for it's location, we were literaly 10 minutes from the amusement park, and we were 5 minutes from a shopping mall, good retaurants, and the movie theatre. Now we were not expecting the "Taj Mahal" or anything great just a place to put your head for the evening till the next day. However in the room we found the floor was not vaccumed (it had trash and food still on the floor), the bed had questionable spots on the sheets. We actually used our beach towels to lay on. The bathroom door was messed up and I was locked inside the bathroom for 10 minutes trying to get out with out messing anything up worse. While we were there we thought about making use of their pool but couldn't find it. However we did find a smelly green lagon. The price was better than what we were looking for but i defenatly did not expect to have the expierence I did from any hotel especialy a national chain.

For my son and I it was ok. But there was nothing about the interior of the room that I could say was nice. The people at the front desk were friendly and they provided us with good directions twice. Bottom line is the owner needs to invest some money in renovations.

For the money, it was exactly what I needed for the night. The toilet kept running and the noise between rooms. The hotel was good for an overnight place to crash while on your way to another destination. The staff was very friendly and the place clean.

this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The front desk clerk upon check in was VERY RUDE. Got there @ 1:00 said no rooms available come back @ 3:00, got back @ 3:30 said might not have room available, but eventually found one, not because of overbooking, but because had no housekeepers to clean rooms. Requested bottom floor near pool and was very hateful and had to argue to get it. Ice machines were always empty. Beds were bricks, couldn't get clean towels on second morning. Bathroom was dirty. DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND. My son left his phone. I called and they found it. Cost $7.20 to mail it back to me. Sent it C.O.D. and charged me an additional $10.00 to ship it costing me $17.20 to pick it up. What POOR customer service.

Convenient location. Inexpensive. Relatively clean/comfortable. Sort of seedy. Parking lot not well lit. It was fine for my purposes (just needed a place to rest my head to break up a long drive).

We stayed at this hotel initially because of it's location to king's Dominion. The location was wonderful, you could quickly access local amenities restaurants and attractions. The pool was okay and it had a nice playground area for the kids. Our family had 5 kids 5 and under with us. We liked the idea of the free continental breakfast and since it was the last minute and reasonable we choose this hotel. Big mistake, the breakfast was housed in a former employee breakroom in the back of the check-in office. There was an owner/employee? there handing out a gallon of milk from a mini-fridge for the cereal. Since we travel with our kids, nephews & neices all the time a few adults usually go to the buffet and bring back the food for the kids, as we tried to leave the tiny area with the muffins and flakes we were informed that we must remain in the tight, hot breakroom with all the food. We had to trek all the way back down to the rooms to bring the restless kids to grab a bite to eat before they get dressed. The main front desk clerks were quite friendly but the owners were not. I think the owners live on site as well as leasing other rooms to families. They did not seem to get along with each other and their children were sometimes bossy in the pool. Rooms were not as clean as they could have been and I would definitely stay there again or recommend it to anyone, plan early and pay a little more for quality and peace of mind,

Cheap, clean, comfort, and centrally located for what I needed. The room was not stocked very well (toilet paper). Just to have a place to stay and sleep, it wasn't bad.

The only good thing is close to where I was going and in the middle of a lot of food places. This hotel was dirty and springs were popping out of the bed lights not working unhappy. The bed had springs popping out and people were rude not recommend this place at all.
