After traveling to the area many times I found this to be the best deal in the area. It had the cheapest rate and for that I got a spacious room with recliner, free WiFi, a warm and helpful staff. It is also located near many restaurants and a variety of stores.

Front desk staff wasvery friendly, nice free breakfast,TV channels. Horribly smoky room! My clothes smelled, the bedding smelled, it was disgusting. Fine hotel if you just need a place to sleep and nothing more. They have an overpowering smoke smell on everything. Breakfast nice, free and a variety of items. Front office staff was very friendly. It was just the smoky, tiny room that made this not the best stay. I don't recommend this for families with kids.

on the positive side, hotel is decorated tastefully without extravagance and the staff is very polite and always helpful. continental breakfast was nice. hotel really should not try to accommodate young children and elderly. took my toddler about 2 minutes upon entering room to find a broken screen and a window that does not have a lock. btw - we checked in earlier than most guests but were given a third floor room. additionally, had to keep refilling the ice holder {not exactly a bucket!!!} because there was no fridge. there was no milk or juice - even in the vending machines - except at breakfast - so when you needed something for the child there was nothing within walking distance. additionally, i didn't appreciate seeing an 80+ year old couple having to carry their luggage up the stairs because there is no elevator or employees available to assist them. i was raised to respect my elders and thought they showed no class in that way.

Entered the room and found that the A/C vents would only blow upward, inflating the curtains in an unusual manner very much like a large girl's culottes. I was pleased at the complete lack of a burnt-dog-hair smell in the building (a problem at the last hotel I stayed at in this area) but was puzzled by the presence of an ice bucket in the room but the lack of an ice machine, meaning that the Asti Spumanti had to remain at room temperature. I was very pleased at the hotel's proximity to Altoona's Mallo Cup Factory, a major destination to be sure, and the R Waffle House, a gustatory delight. Our front-desk clerk was delightfully free of tattoos and fresh stitches, also a concern at my last hotel stay. Although much of Altoona is apparently closed on Monday nights, the cable TV in the room served well as a diversion. Overall, when visiting Altoona this is a very good place to be from.

Did not like anything in particular, very generic. I think I got bed bugs from this hotel. 1 star economy hotel, don't expect anything great, very generic.

The first time I was at this hotel it was great for the money. so to the same place we stayed at the same hotel of course when we returned 2 months later the hotel was horrible the beds were below my knees and seem to be all box springs, the room was a smoking room even though I booked a non-smoking room and the rooms down the hallway must have been party rooms because they let the heavy doors slam shut til around 3:00 am. I guess I'll be looking for other hotels in the area next time.

Hotel was clean and what I expect when I travel. Only suggestion I have is that each room have an iron and ironing board. I don't like to iron before traveling but don't want to look all wrinkled when I go some place.

This hotel is located close to the baseball stadium, so that's why we stayed there. Even though we requested a non-smoking room, they gave us a smoking room. They lied to us about when they made the room arrangements and when they were caught in the lie, they tried to lie their way out, but it didn't work. They treated customers who came in after us much better than we were treated probably because we look so young even though we are adults with full time jobs. The overall trip was fine, but the hotel was a joke and we will never stay there again.

On the highway. Got stuck in a smoking room. Was given a smoking room, and was told that was all that was available. Not cool. Would not recommend this hotel, as all common spaces smelled like cigarette smoke.

The Super 8 in Altoona was a very nice experience.I'm from Altoona, and have stayed at the pricier hotels in the past but will choose this hotel evey time now.The property is nice. The interior is very clean as far as the hallways and main office. My room was very clean as was the bathroom.Great a/c unit.Staff was friendly and the free breakfast was satisfactory to get you on your way in the morning.I like the ice machine being in the main office. It was like new and not abused.Very clean.I'm not one to write reviews but I think this hotel was deserving. Can't beat the price for what you get !!Convenient to wherever you need to go.

I was greeted warmly by the hotel staff. Our remote control didn't work. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was impressed at how the staff treated me and I will look forward to staying there in the near future.

We requested non-smoking and received a smoking room. When asked if we could change rooms, they refused due to the fact that it was booked online. We were there for our daughter's wedding and did not want our dresses and tuxedos smelling like smoke. We were not happy with this experience.

Clean friendly convenient to shopping and food. I was well satisfied with my stay at this super 8 was on a shopping trip with my daughter and found this location excellent for us.

The area is away from major roads, and there is large are to walk the dogs. All in all it was great. Other than the initial front desk clerk who complained that we had too many dogs (3), they should not get onto the bed and must not be left unattended, we had a wonderful stay. All in all it was great.

Location. No swimming pool. Our entire weekend at this hotel was great. The room was very neat and clean. Hotel staffs were prompt and courteous. I must say also that after a check of regular room rates.

Clean, good location. Will argue about receipt; do not want to provide it. Very good need to give receipt to business travelers. Please enforce it.

High speed internet was great. Could do with out the smell of smoke. The hotel was fine.

"Hotel is clean, staff was polite. It is a good value for a no frills hotel (no pool, etc). Only complaint was uncomfortable beds."
