The best if you must stay in Altamont. Clean rooms, but dated. Dining is non existent. Despite a restaurant next door -- if you can call it that -- it used to be better but now is dark, smoky and empty. Breakfast is a joke. It is free, but store bought donuts and concentrated OJ - not cold, plus coffee and powder creamer. All rooms face the interstate so noisy, no elevator for wheelchair people, only one set of connecting rooms on ground floor. Room keys are now smart cards, and upgraded A/C systems. Location. Franchise owners live on property in house near by yet teenager staff desk at night. Housekeeping by old local ladies, while nice, not professional.

Convince in small town and to a few restaurants. Needs some major repairs on walls, bathroom faucets leaked, sink drainage very slow. The owner was very nice, but the walls need some attention, look like they have gotten wet. Needs updating. There is no pool, and cont. Breakfast very limited to cold cereal, honey buns, juice. Okay for a need to stay place.

Decent stay in a bad location. Altamont is not the restuarant mecca. Rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable if not roomy. They do have mini-fridge, microwaves and friendly staff though. However, not much if any discount compared to staying in Effingham or even St. Louis.
