Date of Stay:
November, 2007
Since I stayed at the Alexandria Super 8, I had to stay at hotel in another town during a snow-storm. The cost was twice what I paid at Super 8 but there were NO differences in the room. I don't need or want luxury in a hotel room-- I want a clean, private place to sleep, and then to shower in the morning. That's what I found at the Super 8 in Alex, plus a very nice clerk at the front desk.

Easy to find. No pool, no workout room andbreakfast was disappointing. Super 8's need to do upgrade, they always seem dingy and sometimes dirty. They are too outdated.

I think that the rooms need some updating. The paint was coming off the walls, the floors (during our stay) were not vacuumed while we were out of the room. We did ask that they not put different sheets on the bed, as we were staying only 2 nights & the beds were barily even made. There was some good tings too. They did not advertise that each room has a frig & microwave & they do. This comes in handy! It was a quiet place to stay also.

It was clean and the staff was very friendly. The bed was all springs and the sheets like sandpaper! Don't plan on sleeping at all! The hotel was nice and clean, but honestly the bed was lousy! Springs, no foam, scratchy bed sheets, they really skimped on what is the most important item. I would not stay here again solely based on the beds. I would have slept better in my Honda Accord.

They bent over backward to make a 2nd night stay possible when snowed in. It was good.

Location. Very uncomfortable beds. The hotel was a 1 star, what can you expect. It was clean, but uncomfortable. Very few amenities. Just a typical economy hotel.

Met some fun people staying there also. No pool or hot tub that would've nice. We had a good time and a nice place to sleep.

The rooms were clean. The beds we're that comfortable. It was great for what I needed and it fit the star level that it was.

Continental breakfast; room had microwave and fridge. Originally gave us smoking room and when we asked to switch, acted like it was an inconvenience and we should've requested before coming to the motel. Clean and adequate space. Continental breakfast nice. If you want a non-smoking room, however, call ahead as the lady acted like it was such a special request to give us one (even though all public places are SUPPOSED to be smoke-free in Minnesota now).

It was great. I thought the beds were incredibly comfortable. The staff was great. Hotel was very clean and quiet.

Very friendly personnel, very clean. Small room, not much space to put suitcase/shoes/hang items. Clean room very friendly staff. Not much space for extras. Coffee good in the am.

The staff was very friendly and the bed was comfortable. They should provide a better selection for breakfast. Overall we were very pleased.

Easy to find. One clerk was rude. Beds comfortable. Quiet. Breakfast was skimpy. Sunday paper a plus. Fairly clean. Would stay here again.

Woke up late (no noise) extended checkout. Nothing. The hotel was quiet, clean and the staff was friendly. I will stay there again and would recommend it to friends.

Open 24 hours. The old breakfast. I came from a bus trip and arrived late around 11pm and I never called to say I was going to be late and I had no problems.

It didn't smell old and musty. Very limited breakfast selection. I come to Alexandria on business once a month or so. I've stayed in just about every motel on the south side, and this is the only one I'd want to stay in more than once. Super 8 Alexandria seems to have been recently spruced up- the paint seems fresh, the carpets bright and clean, the bathroom floor seemed new. I was beginning to think there wasn't a pleasant motel in town, and I'm glad to have found this one fits the bill. I'll definitely stay here again next month.
