My wife and I spent five nights at the Sunshine Suites Resort and enjoyed every minute we were there. The living accomodations were very clean and contained amenities such as a spacious living room, refrigerator, oven and eating utensils. The resort staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The overall appearance of the grounds and buildings were immaculate and well cared for. The restaurant had menu offerings that were reasonably priced. Although the hotel was not on the beach, the beach was directly across the street and it was not a bother to walk the short distance. I would recommend this fine resort particularly since you get a lot for a reasonable price tag.

My best friend of 25 years and my 2 daughters traveled to Grand Cayman for a Girl's Vacation. My friend's sons had stayed at Sunshine Suites during a recent vacation to Grand Cayman and they were quite complimentary, so we decided to stay at SS as well. Can't say enough good things about our stay: the staff was welcoming and friendly, the service was impecable, the facility from the rooms to the pool to the Sunshine Grill were well maintained and spotless. The location was good; across the street and a short walk to the beach, a short distance to a city bus stop which we used the day we went to Georgetown shopping, and a short distance from Captain Marvin's where we booked our Stingray City Adventure . The food at the Sunshine Grill was tasty: burgers, fish tacos, and the Caribbean BBQ buffet on Thursday evenings was outstanding. The wait staff was friendly, accomodating and prompt, but not "hover-y". If you needed something, they were there but they didn't smother you, which I really liked. I would definitely recommend Sunshine Suites to anyone planning a vacation to Grand Cayman, and should I have the good fortune to vacation there again, I will certainly book my stay at Sunshine Suites.

Not only was the room spotless when we arrived, but the staff was super accomadating at all hours, the food at the restaurant was excellent, the grounds immaculate, and the equipped kitchenette was very convenient considering how expensive restaurants are on Grand Cayman. The only downside is that the maids do not do a thorough cleaning during your stay, they only make the beds and replace towels until you leave.

While we're used to all inclusive, this hotel made it possible for us to visit a new and exclusive location. Otherwise we would have not considered Grand Cayman. Breakfast was free, lunch provisions were purchased from Foster's Supermarket, and dinner was available at the Sunshine Grill. The waiters and the food were so good that we didn't get bored going back again and again. The sea is crystal clear and perfect. There is a resident iguana about 20" long; it swims and also sunbathes on the beach. Good photo opportunities!

My family and I travelled to Cayman for a wedding -- the wedding guests had a total of 15 rooms -- I think I can speak for the entire party when I say I will not be returning to this hotel.. 1st, rooms were not cleaned 2 days in a room -- we asked the front desk on both occasions and yet no cleaning. The 3rd day we had to personally walk a maid to the room to ensure it was cleaned. THe 'free' breakfast consisted of toast, stale/rock hard mini muffins and running eggs. The free breakfast was to run 7-10am, although they always ran out of food by 8:30-9am! There is only one bar/restaurant avail unless you want to walk down a poorly lit road to the Ritz or Best Western. The owner shut down the restaurant early 7pm on two occassions because his cash register broke!?! Several guests asked him to please remain open as there isn't anywhere to eat/drink close by... he gave additude... and wass less than accomodating..Also after we check in.. got a call from the front desk offering us to extend our stay for only 100/night.. we were paying 225.. had we know this we would have only booked 1 night and took them up on their offer to extend the trip for the remaining 5 days! Every hotel guest got this call-- frankly the hotel was empty besides our party -- we will not be returning... too much additude from the owner and the lack of customer service...

The bad news and the good news - the hotel is not located on the beach, but is only a short walk away, they do provide chairs/towels for beach. That's probably the ONLY slight downside to this place. Good news - The hotel rooms are very clean, well equipped with kitchenettes, the grounds are beautiful and the staff couldn't be nicer, notably X at front desk and Y & Z at the Sunshine Grill. The pool is smallish, but was fine for our needs, they have fun activities throughout the week, like Trivia nite, etc. Go to front desk to arrange tours and activities, they have the local info! Location is perfect, Ritz is next door, same area, but way less expensive! Definitely recommend this hotel - have fun!

Do people really go to Grand Cayman to hang out at the hotel? I was all over that island and what a blast I had! I have been in the hospitality business for over 15 years so I know a good establisment when I see one. So let me just tell you, I was very plaesed with the professionalism of the staff. They were very helpful! The Westin across the street can provide you with car rental if you didn't get one at the airport. Oh, TRY THE FISH TACOS!!! They are the BEST EVAER!!!

What a great way to break in my wife's new passport! Shunshine Suites and Grand Cayman was a treat. This place is perfectly located - not on 7 Mile Beach, but only a short walk. It's location gives you more space, a peaceful environment. The staff was terrific. NO bad surprises, yet several delights. Free continental breakfast gets you started - they said the food there was good and I beleive them, but we were out and about too much to eat there. Highly recommend.

While the rooms were small they were clean. The Sunshine Grill did have great food - Burgers, Fish Taco's and Margaritas. Best place to eat is the table service around the pool. Your trade off for a good price is you have to make the walk (pretty busy street to cross) to the beach and carry your stuff and chairs. If you have more than two people definitely get an upgrade room - the "typical" rooms are way too small for more than that. Seems very family oriented. No romance for couples though. If your upgrade really doesnt save you that much money from a location on the beach - being right on the beach is the way to go. If your on a budget and cant spend the extra money this is probably your best bet.

This hotel was suitable. Would recommend it only for extended stays. Would not recommend it for a single woman traveling alone as I felt it was a bit isolated. Otherwise, it is near the beach and the food was good.

The Sunshine Suites was more then anyone could have offered during a scary trip to the Caymans. We got there just one day before the hurricane hit..The manager made many phone calls directly to our room to inform us that he would take care of us the best they could..He also comfort us about the hotel and its safeness...He asked for anyone that would like to go to the 3rd floor incase of any flooding...The hurricane was not critical on the island but I knew that I could rely on the staff to help us if we needed any assistants..It was a wonderful hotel..More like a resort because of the staff... Perfect location to the ocean yet not caught up with the hoopla of being able to relax in a very quiet surrounding of the hotel..I would go back and plan to tell friends..

Since we have been staying at the Sunshine Suites we have experienced a quiet relaxing laid back environment where the staff is almost invisible. Your room is cleaned daily and supplied with fresh towels and linen. Even the dirty coffee cups and the few dishes we used were washed and laid out to dry. You have a complementary continental breakfast including scrambled eggs, fried potatos, toast and an assortment of other goodies. Lunch and dinners can be enjoyed at the small bar/grill adjacent to the pool,or you can either fix them in you room in your kitchenet or choose one of the may resturants along Seven Mile Beah. For your exercise you can enjoy the pool on the hotel property or walk 100 yard across the street to the white sands of Seven Mile Beach. Where you can soak up the sun, swim in the crystal clear water, snorkel and see the undersea life. If you are more laid back and just want to lay on the beach you can also do that and watch the people or sand crabs that pass by. Hope you enjoy a visit to the Sunshine Suites as we have so many times. Maybe we will see you on one of our future trips.

We are avid scuba divers and that was the main purpose of our trip. We chose this hotel because of location to where the dive store was, because it was on SMB and for price. Based on those criteria it was fine. What we did not like was all the little kids running around and screaming until 10:00 PM every night. There is only one restaurant and the food is not that good. Even though there is a free breakfast everyday there is not much variety. So we would rather pay more for a hotel on the beach that has better food and no kids.
