Upon arrival room appeared to be clean, open, and pleasant even though it was not the type of room my reservations stated. When locking up the first night the chain lock was broken and unsure if handle lock was operational. I had placed a chair in front of the door for security. Next morning called and reported lock broken to the front desk. Desk clerk stated if maintance was available she would have them repair it. Also when asked about cleaning services, I was told no cleaning services available to guest staying less than a week. Second night in the room came back to find a dead cockroach on the kitchen counter and another live 3 inch cockroach under the kitchen table. Also the lock was still unrepaired. Third and final night came back to room to find a 3 inch spider crawling on the kitchen floor. And the lock was still unrepaired. When checking out relayed on my experience to desk clerk and he stated there was nothing he could do.

If your traveling on a budget and looking for a decent place to stay this is it.......they do offer a weekly rate if you are there 7 days or more.....the rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable I have noticed they so supply basic dishes in their kitchens but no pots or pans and they do have an excellent laundry room

The location satisfied my needs. Not enough linen.

the saying "you get what you pay for" applies in this case, cheap hotell with alot of wear, room was run down and had the deadbolt on the door broken {look to be kicked in!!}, no security seen and alot of locals hanging around. do not stay here with your family!!

First room had dirty towels, dirty bed linens and a/c didn't work. They moved us to a room next to the office. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. Floor was dirty and we kept our shoes on. I got this hotel through a well-known online hotel/travel bidding site where you offer a price and get assigned a room, but you don't know the hotel's name until your bid is accepted. I'd entered a two-star hotel and can't believe this would even qualify as a one-star. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

my room was outside off the employee lounge, so there was always employees hanging around ,even at two in the morning, making plenty of noise.Guest would hang around my room all hours of the day and night to smoke and just gather because my room was under shelter from the sun and rain..No one freshened up the room the entire time of my stay had to go find garbage bags and fresh towels, the staff wouldn,t give them to me, had to go to the office to get what I needed, even though it stated that the staff would clean and freshen up the room once during the week while i was there.Had a wonderful vacation, didnt let the hoel ruin my time spent in gulfport....

My stay at the hotel was not as pleasant as hoped for. There was no daily maid service.

Didn't like anything. The rooms were smelly, the comforters on the beds were dirty and there were dead bugs on the floor. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.I check into another hotel. Honestly, the health department needs to inspect the place.

we arrived at the hotel at approx. 6:00 p.m.. there was a long line to check in. apparently, the hotel wasn't ready for the "cruizin' the coast" tourist impact. we had to wait until around 7:00 or so for someone to clean the room that was assigned to us (handicapped room at that!!!). other than the problem checking in and finding a roach in the bathroom and having no maid service on saturday the trip was okay.

First off, I reserved a suite and got a room with two double beds. The non smoking room smelled like smoke, the room was filthy, the beds were horrible, the cable went out the second night we were there and the place just looked trashy. Our laptop computer battery was ruined by a faulty electrical outlet and the staff was incompentant and unfriendly. Funny enough, we felt fairly safe because the police were in and out throughout the night... This particular hotel seems to be home for many low income families and is very run down and overpriced for a dump. I would recommend sleeping in your car over getting a room and staying here.

Wasn't crazy about te location behind the gas station. The room was nice. Loved the ful kitchen yet there is no housekeeping during your stay. Bring your own towels because they won't bring them and make your own bed and don't mess up your sheets because they will not change them.

The room was very unclean, hairs on the sink and bedsheets half tucked in.

The place was filthy. The desk clerk was clearly inept and it took more than 1/2 hour to get rooms. Originally asked travel agent for a suite (2 beds and living room with fold out). Got there and the "suite" was a dirty room with 2 beds. Travel refused to reimburse so ended up getting another room to accomodate the family and paid 102 for it. Very overpriced. The police were in and out of the parking lot all night as this was obviously are "red light" hotel. Would not recommend this for anyone with a family or for anyone for that matter.

The Sun Suites was not the best motel to start with but we checked in early and were told all we need do upon our return that night was go to front desk, which you obtain thru a window in the laundry room, and pick up key. Arriving back late we obtained the room key only to open the door and find the room had not been cleaned from previous guests. Back downstairs and young lady went up to room and put out clean towels and changed the bed, took a couple swipes at bathroom. Now is after 12 and some of the younger guests are drinking and having a party outside of their rooms. They finally quit around 1 a.m. Next thing we know the phone is ringing, it is 5 a.m. and we have a wake up call we did not request. We occupied the room for a total of 6 hours and were on our way home.

This was a horrible hotel. There appeared to be poepling living there instead of renting for vacation purposes. There were roaches everywhere, the room smelled of old musk and I felt unsafe in general.

Room had small kitchen area, which was an added bonus. However, clean it was not!!! Upon checking in, the assistant manager forgot to tell us that the rooms are ONLY CLEANED ONCE A WEEK. Our room was nice, but the tile floor in the kitchen/bath area was gritty and filthy. The bathroom sink and toilet were dirty. We were too tired to complain that night. So, the next day, I assumed that the room would be freshened, clean towels, ect. When we returned from our sight seeing of the Gulf Coast, we found that the room had not been touched. This was around Noonish. Thought maybe they would clean in the afternoon. We went back to our sight seeing, came back at 7pm to find that the room had NOT BEEN TOUCHED. No clean towels, NOTHING had been freshened. Went to the office to find it locked. I knocked on the door, had to convience the desk clerk to give us fresh towels and that is when she told me that, They only clean the rooms once a week. I ask about those of us who only stay over night or 2 nights? She replyed, We only clean those rooms once a week! I told her that I NEVER STAYED AT A HOTEL that only cleaned the rooms once a week. I was sick at my stomache thinking about the possibility of catching germs from the nasty sink, tub and toilet. Could not change rooms as everything in the Gulf Coast area was booked up for the holiday weekend. I will not stay in the Sun Suites again. I will not recomend them to anyone. I will tell about the dirty rooms, no clean towels or sheets. For the price, we got the SHAFT!!!!
