Worst hotel we ever stayed at at Whistler. Room with two queen beds and kitchenette very cramped. Stove didn't work and main staff rude and did not seem to know anything about maintaining a hotel. Room reminded us of an motel eight on the I-5 in the states except for the view. We have stayed at five different hotels right in the village over the past years for the same money and would not go back here. There isn't even a reason to be in the area where it is unless you are staying there.

Very nicely located, central to village close to shops stores restaurants, new library with convenient parking and storage room for skis, bicycles, etc. My only complaint is that the room looked worn, with frayed carpet and deteriorating lower door moulding in the bathroom and bleach fried towles. The kitchenette was convenient, including a two burner stovetop, microwave, and small refridgerator and minimally stocked dishes and cutlery. Problem was, the dishes and glassware were dirty with signs of dried up old food on many pieces. Other complaints, which I don't like to make, include a coffee maker with an unmatched brand glass portion which was too short and had to be held up by hand in order to brew a cup. Also the weak hairdryer overheated within a couple of minutes use and had to be cooled before continuing. I had a great time in whistler and had to let go of my expectations on accomodations and "look the other way" because I was there for a much needed rest and didn't want to spoil the trip with confrontation. But the Summit Lodge (my particular room) had the feel of a poorly managed private motel, not one listed number 4-5 on travelocities list in order of value, and certainly nowhere near the quality I'm sure I would have received at the Fairmont or Westin, which where listed a bit higher on the list. I was depending on Travelocity when I made this reservation and will be more cautious in future bookings.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times now, always during the summer time. As a bike rider, I liked the location of this hotel, close to trails. There is a safe area to store your bike when not in use, and lockers available, key card access. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean, and on our last stay, we upgraded and had a great room with mountain views and 2 balconies. This hotel is just off the main walkway through town, close enough to be everywhere, far enough away to be peaceful. The pool is in back, and is surrounded by tall fir trees. This hotel was pet friendly, and at the time of our stay, there were at least 5 dogs staying, and we never heard a single bark! Parking is available for a fee, but the upper lot is a short walk away, and free.

Beautiful lobby, very nice room; given an automatic room upgrade upon arrival. Great location: directly across the street from a supermarket and Starbucks.
